🤮 1/5 - Arrogant service, bland pretentious food

We went to Frenchie last night for dinner and am still upset this morning by the arrogance of the service. Had the food been worth the money or the effort I may have given them a pass but the food was bland and pretentious. We flew into Paris in the morning for a milestone birthday for me- I wanted to celebrate with my two daughters and husband and we chose Frenchie and booked when the booking window opened. Sitting was booked for 6.30pm and it appears that they have a second sitting at 9pm. Our daughters arrived on time but we were delayed due to a series of unfortunate events. The airline had lost our luggage so we turned up in Paris with very little- I had not anticipated celebrating my birthday in the clothes we had travelled in so made a quick stop into Gallerie Lafayette for a change of underwear and a new top to wear on my birthday. The Uber cancelled on us, we waiting 30 minutes for the next person who got lost twice on the way (1 star review for him too!), and finally made it to Frenchie by 6.55pm. On arrival instead of being offered the wine list and a smile we were greeted with "you're late and you're only getting four of the five courses on offer". We asked the waiter if he could please accommodate us as this was my birthday celebration and there had been a lot of stress during the day. No way! The chef was not prepared to rush his creations- never mind that the people paying would have been quite prepared to move a little faster through the menu. I could just have easily lived without two of the three offerings for dessert and had the missed starter instead. So on to the food- we have eaten at many Michelen restaurants and this was the least impressive. The tuna starter was so bland that I asked my husband if I could ask for salt- he said no!! The two mains were ok- the chicken was bland and the vegetables raw (not al dente, but hard to cut and cold) and the fish was pretty good but in a hard to eat-from bowl with a broth with no spoon. We all fished out the beans with a fork but it was inconvenient and a waste of one of the only flavourful parts of the meal. All in all, a huge disappointment but mostly due to the inflexible nature of the wait staff and chef who are more concerned with their cooking and serving than actually making their guests feel valued and cared for. Just so that they don't feel that this was an unbalanced review, they did offer us a small coupe of champagne on the house to make us feel better (which it did not, as the damage was done). This will most certainly be a one off - never again Frenchie. We will stick to the many other Parisian restaurants that still put their customers first.
