Gailey's Breakfast Cafe Springfield Reviews from The Last Year
We decided to give Gailey's a try after many people
We decided to give Gailey's a try after many people recommended it. There are a lot of front doors but we did find the right one to enter. The staff were friendly and you could tell they really liked their job. Service was a little slow for a Friday morning, but the food was so good and so worth it. I normally don't have alcohol with my breakfast, but I had to try the apple butter old fashioned.

Nice decor, excellent service, calming music, and the coffee smells fantastic. The Egg Benedict and the Flying Hawaiian omelet with the sweet hash browns were tasty.
True; I'll be a lower rating than most other people on Yelp.
BUT, there isn't anything special/great in what they make here. And it is expensive for what you get. Our problem in Springfield, is we (do not) have any top notch breakfast places - they're all pretty much "meh" places. This place tries to be trendy and cool. And I do love the old Gailey's drug store / hotel building. But the place isn't "amazing" by any means...and not for the price. Country Fried Steak: their pre-fab country fried steak itself, tasted ok enough. Certainly no hand ponded out fried steak. The gravy is some doctored up package gravy, that is nothing great at all. Hash browns: Not sure where these things came from - but I could (not) come close to cutting thru these hash browns, (with) the side of my fork. Then, bland and no seasoning. No onions, peppers etc. Eggs: Who screws up eggs? Well, this place didn't come close to "over medium". Today, and the last time I was here (people make me go here; it's not my choice), the eggs have good portions of uncooked egg whites. Cost of the county fried steak, hash browns and two eggs: $15. Really? lol. Chili: I tried the chili, to see what it was like. This was the best thing on this day. I would get that chili again, as it was chunky/hearty and had ok flavor, for what it is and how it looked (when it first came). Flavor profile wasn't too too flavorful...:but hey, considering the other stuff they serve, it was good enough. Conclusion: I would never dare wait in line for this place. Do I go here at times? Yes, people want to meet there and it's (not) a dump. But that said, it's nothing special at all and how it is (now).

i love the coffee here, the espresso and (black) coffee is excellent. it's a great place to just sit and talk.
We waited 45 minutes.
We were excited given the reviews. It took a long time to get our food- which would have been fine if it was worth it. I ordered the chili and grilled cheese. The chili was barely above room temperature and the cheese was not melted in the grilled cheese. My son ordered a Cesar salad. It came with purple onions, cucumbers and broccoli, no croutons, no Parmesan cheese. As we were leaving, we saw a Cesar salad with croutons and Parmesan. He also ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles were not fluffy and the chicken was bitter. The Slentz was also ordered. It was lacking flavor. We ended up eating most of the food because by the time we got it we were starving- but it was not worth the wait by any means. The Big Biscuit was one million times better!!
Baileys was fantastic.
The service was beyond great, they make concessional on your meal if you need it. We weren't from there so we took a chance and boy did we pick a great one. The food was excellent and they had an old soda bar. You could get drinks or just sit down and breakfast. There were a lot of people but it didn't echo or sound noisey. Yes yes yes

Wonderful breakfast! The wait can be a nightmare but everything I've tried had been great. Not a quick meal but worth the wait.

I am sure I've posted a review before but nothing has changed. These people do it right. I personally recommend the Classic Bloody Mary and the Lox and Bagel. I've taken various family members, they've ordered everything on the menu. I've never heard a bad review from any of them.

Awesome experience! Food (skillets in particular) was outstanding. Biscuit came out cold and pointed it out to the server and they rushed back with a hot & fresh replacement. Very courteous staff all the way around. Loved the old hotel lobby theme.
Had an El Jefe.
Delicious food. Service was great. The lighting was nice and the music was loud enough for me to hear but also low enough for me to hear my conversation clearly. Would recommend to friends.
Just ok..bland
Ok..not very flavorful..pancake pretty thin and bland. Alot of food...not much flavor. More of an attraction for giant pancakes than good food.
Good atmosphere & food
Really enjoyed our recent dinner visit here - they had live music, and their food, drinks and service was spot on. Try one of their skillets!
Okies in Springfield
Wife and I shared a three egg omelette. It was covered with a hollandaise sauce that was made fresh. There’s a huge difference between fresh and that from a package. They serve Rove Coffee, a local supplier. This place was very busy, but it was well worth our 15 or 20 minute wait. Our waitress was great and attentive. We’ll be back next time we’re in Springfield, MO!
Get your Day Started at Gailey’s
We came for a late breakfast. Even though there were people waiting we got in quickly. Everything we had was delicious- breakfast burritos and pancakes are huge. Portion sizes are big enough for two people. Stuffed French toast was divine. Our server Alex was friendly, funny and efficient. If we’re ever back in the area it will definitely be on our list to revisit!!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
