Gallow Green New York Reviews from The Last Year
Luv the ambiance here, forget it's in the city! Great
Luv the ambiance here, forget it's in the city! Great selection of drinks and cocktails. Have healthy choices of food and service above and beyond.
Oh Gallow Green what happened to you? There was a time when
Oh Gallow Green what happened to you? There was a time when it was impossible to get a reservation. You'd bring your out of town friends and the doormen would snobbily tell you there was a wait (was that just us?) Then when you finally got in, drinks and food were pricey but delish, the views were amazing, and the scene was hot and worth the wait. ... What happened? Walked in and it was dead empty on a weekend night. The food menu was paltry. Not sure what happened to the chefs at GG but the options were ... questionable and sparse but we chose a couple of things to get us through the evening. The oysters were great, the guac and chips were on par, and the Caesar salad was legit. (Weirdly no fries on the menu any longer. Huh.) Everything else was a sad, sad, moment for what used to be an NYC hot spot. A weird selection of small tacos and falafel? At a 1920's speakeasy, for $20 a pop, we're serving sub-par versions of food truck food? No. That said, the staff tried hard and were super nice. Maybe go for drinks and the scenery but definitely don't expect anything beyond that. Hoping this place recovers because at the rate its going... yikes.
The best part of this experience was the ambience.
The actual seating area was very beautiful and the service was amazing, my waitress was very friendly. I also appreciated the green and white "uniform" they had on. The food itself was okay, honestly it was the worst part of the experience. It all tasted good (why it's 4* not 3*) but the selection for food was VERY limited - all salads and raw seafood (shrimp and oysters). I wish there were more variation on the menu but the experience is definitely worth it!
Beautifully unique restaurant with amazing and attentive
Beautifully unique restaurant with amazing and attentive service. A vast drink menu. The food menu was kind of small, but all of the options really fit the vibe of the restaurant. The food we got was great!
This review comes with some caveats.
I have only eaten here once (yesterday) and the restaurant happened to be struggling with their gas system so they were not able to offer cooked foods. Ambience: 3/5 Very pretty, roof top garden aesthetic was great, but on hot summer days, it can get especially hot and not the most comfortable. Drinks: 5/5 I got a sour beer and it was honestly among the best beers I have had. My friends' drinks also were great and fancy (espresso martinis and lavender mixed drinks). Main Course: 1/5 Honestly, this was the biggest let down. For the prices that the place charges, it was almost highway robbery. I understand that the place didn't have any gas, but they should have them adjusted their menu better. I got a tuna sandwich (which on the menu was described like a salad). The best description for it is that it is like an airplane sandwich. Bread was dry, tuna seemed like it was from a can, all with minimal dressing. On the side, they advertised "home made potato chips," but I am pretty sure they just put some Lays chips in a cup. My friends mostly got Caesar salads and all of them were disappointed. The salads were bland and tasted like wet leaves. They asked for more dressing in hopes that it would add any flavor. It did not. The kicker was that each dish was about $20-30 (which for Manhattan makes sense, but still...I am at least getting what was advertised with other restaurants). Dessert: 5/5 I got sorbet and this was honestly delicious. It comes with 3 scoops (raspberry, mango, and lemonade). This was for my friend's birthday and the restaurant said that they sent an email warning her that the gas was off. However, like the menu, it appears that this was also false advertising as she never received any communication. In the end, there were some good points, but with the main course being a let down and overpriced and also the nice looking, but boiling atmosphere, the review is at where it is at for now. Maybe I will come back when the place is actually able to cook things, but now it's at a 2/5.

This place was super cute! The brunch is a must and the food was pretty tasty. It was pretty expensive so I think you are really paying for the vibes which is ok because it was great vibes. The bartenders also really tried to make me the perfect drink even after a couple attempts so I would definitely give their service an A+. Just a beautiful place for a lovely summer day. Just wish the brunch had a fee more options, seemed like an overwhelming amount of bread.
I went over the summer.
Sorry for delay in review. The menu is like a beautifully illustrated book. The drinks are refreshing. Love the garden ambiance, great for yr Insta pic. The northern lights drink was refreshing. The octopus was perfectly cooked. We came before the show downstairs for a quick drink n a bite.
3 stars only for their ambience and service.
Not very happy about the food. Firstly, the location and ambience is very flattering. As the name suggests, everything is green around. There are plants everywhere and the bar setup at the centre was cute. There is also a fireplace I wish these efforts were taken on the menu as well. Not many options for Appetizers or entree or dessert. I only liked the cheese curds among the other ones. The artichoke bread was too crispy and not going well with the crab dip. Ice creams were served in the name of gelato which was very bad and it was expensive too. Not worth trying out this place.
Unique and Delicious
Delicious food, friendly service, and wonderful outdoor atmosphere! Such a unique place - the history of the building is incredible and you feel like you are in an enchanted forest while eating. Good for a date or big group. Portions were big too! A+ overall.
Wonderful Rooftop Experience
Together with my seven-year-old daughter, we spontaneously went to Gallow Green from the High Line on 4 September in the late afternoon because of the heat. With luck we also got a place to eat. The place itself is just gorgeous in the summer. The menu is not set up with classic dishes - one or the other might have a hard time with that. We were really taken with the quality. The price is definitely anything but cheap - we definitely think it's justified. However, it would be nice to have alternatives for children in the menu. A special shout-out to Claire - she delighted me and especially my daughter with her service! We would come back to the Gallow Green anytime just for her. We will definitely visit this great rooftop bar again next time we visit New York City. Greetings from germany. Mario

Considering the price point and the portion, the food and drinks were average and didn't particularly impress me. However what made the experience unique was the ambience and decor of this place! Staffs were attentive and friendly. Don't forget to make reservation in advance and bring ID to be allowed in.

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
