Good service
Food was lovely but the service was even better thanks to Matt, highly recommend. Interior was nice as well
Be the first to ReplyAmazing gnocchi and a beautiful atmosphere
I came in for a birthday meal, it was beautiful and the service was wonderful. I had the gnocchi and my husband had a steak and we were both delighted with the food and the service. All staff and management were friendly and the atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend a visit and I would certainly recommend the gnocchi to anyone who would prefer a vegetarian option

Such a lovely place, staff were so attentive! Service was amazing. Food and drinks were so worth the visit
Be the first to ReplyBest stake in Birmingham
The menu has a good choice. My wife and I both had fillet steaks, they were both cooked to perfection (medium rare) the wine list had some very good wines to choose from, we had the melbek that complement the stakes. We had a few cocktails at bar before we went to our table.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
The good bit - the steaks were cooked well. Chips fine too and the house wine was okay. Bad bit - it’s dull inside, service painful, clustered around the staff area like bees around honey - facing away from the customers, not paying attention. Which may explain why the bill was wrong too. I used to eat at the Goucho on Charlotte street regularly, at least 10 times a year when I worked close by for nearly 3 years, I liked the food and vibe. First time in Birmingham, only the name (and steak to be fair) the same. An overpriced, disappointing experience.

Ordered 3 tirradiancho and having had this before several times this was not that, very tough and very fatty. Service was really slow, took 20mins before we were asked for drinks. Really not impressed flgiven I was entertaining friends, not somewhere to go back again. Raised these concerns to the staff and the my really didn’t care other than knocking the service charge off. Spoilt a night with friends from overseas, won’t be going back again

Fabulous Sunday lunch. Quick service. Everyone’s meals were lovely. Kids enjoyed their food too. Didn’t get offered the bottomless yorkshires as advertised.

It was my first time eating there and I loved it! The food was amazing and our server, Mario, was really friendly and nice, took care of us well. Will definitely be returning.
Be the first to ReplyA fabulous birthday meal with friends
Nice greeting on arrival and coat taken. Pleasant bar with waiting area in a deep n dark theme. If you’re not purchasing a bottle there aren’t too many choices of wine per glass. We had a lovely comfortable table for the four of us and it was luxurious. Our food was perfect. Shrimp salad for starters, T bone steak off the bone (medium: was perfect), sticky toffee n date pudding but no custard 🥲 A really lovely few hours with friends!

Had a wonderful time at Gaucho Birmingham Have been to London ones but the Birmingham venue is the best Staff are amazing and professional . They were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Food was exceptional too Would definitely return

Amazing experience. From the welcome at the door until we left at the end I cannot speak highly enough about the service we received. We were celebrating my Sons Graduation and 7 of us dined at lunchtime. Nikko served us, such friendly but very professional service. Not overbearing in anyway but very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble, thank you so much. The food was just delicious, the Buratta being rated delicious and as for the steaks, well my parents have travelled the world and said the Fillet steak was the best they had ever eaten! The Rib eye and Sirloin were given equally high ratings!! Deserts were also delicious, especially the cookie dough pudding. The wine we had was also delicious. Thank you so much for making a special day just perfect. We cannot wait to join you for dinner again.

Had an absolutely winded meal served by Alex. Alex was absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly and made our experience so wonderful. The steaks were on another level definitely worth every penny.

Came in at abit before our booking and was greeted by the hostess who sat us at the bar before our table. The barman was very attentive and keen to help us out before we were escorted to our table. Our star of the evening Elizabeth took time to talk to us aswell as delivering an outstanding service it was evident the dedication she puts into her role in the Gauchos team. Will definitely be returning soon!!
Be the first to ReplyNot so good this time
Maybe it was because we visited on a Monday night, but the whole experience was inferior to my previous visits. Two in our party ordered fish, only to be told shortly afterwards that there was no fish. Red wine was put on the table but they forget to bring any glasses for it. The gap between starters and mains was slight over 40 which is too long. Fries were just about warm. Excellent steak though. Towards the end of our meal the service improved, so perhaps they were just overwhelmed at the start of the night?
Be the first to ReplyAverage, and not worth the prices charged.
I booked the private dining room for my boyfriends surprise 50th meal, as we had visited once previously and really enjoyed the whole experience, even though it was pricey. So I thought it would be a great place to go as you’re not 50 every day. Unfortunately the food was so average and I felt so disappointed that we were dining there on my suggestion. I felt responsible. I had told a group of 10 people who were paying £70 per head (just for food) that this would be special, when it wasn’t at all. Some of the starters were dry - empanadas. When they came out I thought ‘Is that it ?’ Mine was presented very nicely, I had betroot tartare, but the plantain and tuna was also basic. Then a conveyor belt of steaks was delivered to each person at the table. So at £70 per head Gaucho couldn’t you add a little garnish or a tomato or something that would make the steak on the plate look less lonely and basic ? Then a conveyor belt of chips, so then it was then the most expensive steak and chips that I’ve ever had, and one which I could’ve easily made myself and brought from a supermarket. Nothing else on the plate apart from peppercorn sauce. Yet it was £70 per head! I left there feeling that I made everyone pay over £1200 in total in the end including drinks, ( plus £96 service charge) When it wasn’t worth that at all. Deserts were pleasant but I know I won’t be rushing back or recommending Gaucho any time soon. When you charge a higher than average price then the menu should really reflect that. I think the private dining room experience was not what it is supposed to be cracked up to be, and set menus the same. I’d avoid both

We have been a few times to Gaucho and it never loses its quality. We arrived for the Birmingham Cocktail Weekend so we were able to enjoy the signature cocktail at the bar before our meal. We shared a fillet and rib eye steak, absolutely delicious! I’m glad we didn’t have a starter as it would have been too much. The cheeseboard was also very tasty. Service was attentive and staff were knowledgeable about the steak. Looking forward to the next visit.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth it at all (argentinian speaking)
Some times less is more… service is too much.m, they are breathing on your neck, all the show showing the meats is completely unnecessary, leave it for people who ask for it. Do. Or come to the table every 5 mi utes asking things. They charged even for the water (never have seen that in a uk restaurant), the food was good but it was all decoration and veggies and the meat was 15% of the plate. Dessert was really good but again it seems like they are saving the Dulce de leche for themselves (lol) Honestly, I am Argentinian , this place IS NOT WORTH what they charge you. You pay for the unnecessary fanciness if the place and the lack of daylight… Another thing, they cancelled our booking and call us to rebook, ended up rebooking for lunch next day cause was the o ly time we could. They granted us 25% discount that when the bill came they forgot and I had to ask for it… unnacceptable

Alex with the blue glasses was a superb host, he was very enthusiastic and informative about the menu and any questions we needed answering, he was helpful in any way possible and he is a credit to Gaucho. We went for our anniversary and Alex also surprised us with a dessert plate which was very thoughtful. We will definitely be coming back again!
Be the first to ReplySteak and wine pairing event
Fantastic steak and wine tasting hosted by Tia and Rosa. The pairings were well judged to make the most of the wine and the showcase the steaks.
We sampled
Pasarisa, Pinot Noir & Rump
Vallisto ‘Extremo’ Malbec & Ribeye
Terrazas Malbec & Fillet
The Rum cream and walnut / almond dessert finished a perfect event
Thank you Tia, good luck with your wine qualification
Great food and service
First time visit for a number of years. Food was superb and had chateaubriand, it was amazing. Great drink selection and Marco who was our waiter really looked after us and was superb, will be back soon.

My husband and I did a walk in for diner to celebrate and we had such a lovely time. What really made it memorable was our server Michael who was very positive, upbeat and attentive. He was extremely accommodating when I said the lobster was over cooked and immediately brought me a replacement. Unfortunately the replacement was still rubbery and he made sure it was taken off the bill. I was very appreciative of that. The rump steak was delicious! The truffle mac and cheese is a must try!

We arrived to Gaucho by chance on a Wednesday afternoon. At first glance the decor is both stylish and welcoming. The hostess was prompt to attend, very courteous and friendly (certainly an asset to the restaurant) we are taken to our table were Nico; our waiter, proceeds to serve. He is also courteous, friendly and funny, another asset to Gaucho.
The place offers a lunch time set menu with a choice of two (£23) or three (£26) courses that seemed pretty reasonable. Being native South Americans, my friend and I fancied a bigger steak, so we went for the a la carte and chose to share a Steak Tartare (£10.50) and for mains we both went for the Chorizo steak (£28.50 for 300gr) which came with a complimentary side of either chips or salad. We went for the latter. For drinks the wine list offered some lovely choices and there is also cocktails, mocktails and hard seltzer.
Lets eat!
As the steak tartare arrives, my friend and I are both surprised by the size of it. The tartare is about a 2.5cm high and about 5 cm in diameter (smaller than an average macaroon) topped with a duck egg yolk (not runny, almost hard) a nice sauce and some tiny crackers. The meat was seasoned OK, but we ate one mouthful each and that was it (£10.50) neither of us was impressed.
The mains arrive and at first impression our steaks look good! The salad…. Was a little bowl of probably 40gr of rocket, a spoon full of pumpkin seeds and a light vinaigrette. As we tuck in, the steak looks more cooked than expected but… not enough to send back, flavour wise… it was meh! The steak had absolutely nothing to envy the local Whetherspoon’s. If you have ever had a Bife Chorizo in Argentina I beg you to stay away from this place!
Veredict: service is lovely, food… unimpressive. 90% chance we wont go back.
Nice restaurant excellent service
Quality steak at a decent price....service was one of the best I've experienced in Birmingham from receptionist to our table waiter .
Been to many of this chain and this is by far the best food and experience I've had.
Worth a visit and a diverse crowd in there from students to business people. A great experience.
