What a place! Michelin star worthy
The culinary experience that we had at Georgie’s was absolutely spectacular. From the greeting of the hostess to leaving the restaurant was 5 star. The tuna tataki and French onion consommé were phenomenal starters. I had the strip steak and my wife had the tortellini and they both were phenomenal. We finished with the tart tartin and candy bar for dessert. The depth of flavor that Curtis Stone has developed with his dishes is better than most Michelin star restaurants I have dined at. Keep up the good work and we’re looking forward to seeing you again in the future.

Was excited to check this place out. We opened the restaurant for brunch with 10 ladies at 10:30 AM. Started off good and liked the waiter. We were celebrating an engagement. The bride to be didn’t get her food until 35-40 minutes after the rest of the party. We were seriously done eating and she still didn’t have her food. She ordered chicken & waffles and at first they stated that the chef didn’t like how her waffle turned out so the kitchen was remaking it - fine, right? - but then the chicken supposedly burned while the waffle was being remade. They brought out a mini plate of salad and 1/2 portion of salmon benedict with caviar which went to waste because our friend doesn’t like salmon or caviar. Her food finally came out and then we were told they were preparing a special dessert to make up for the mishaps and delivered out spoons to all. We waited another 15 minutes just to have two SMALL plates of sorbet delivered out to share. I was like, “That’s what we were waiting on?“ Geez. The waiter apologized for everything and said that they took some items off the bill, but they only adjusted the bill for the chicken and waffles. The manager was so disengaged throughout this whole 3 hour brunch. Good Lord! She acted indifferent. If I had been in charge, I would’ve asked the person if they wanted something else from the menu as clearly there was something going on in the kitchen behind the scenes. I also would have sent a round of champagne out to the group and took off not only the chicken and waffle entree but the two plates of shared scones. Cute place but probably won’t be back. Service is way too important to me. Food was good overall but not enough to make up for a bad manager and the terrible amount of time we waited for one thing or another.

How is it possible that a restaurant of this calibre has a handful of reviews!!! This is an amazingly beautiful restaurant with incredibly attentive staff and their food is to die for. Honestly by far the best restaurant experience (of this type) of our Texas trip and we will definitely make the point of returning here if we ever come back.
Be the first to ReplyGeorgie must up its game
George has a beautiful décor that, alone, is worth a visit. We were a group of 6. Drinks, appetizers, side dishes and desserts were very good to excellent. Two of us had filets and four had ribeyes. The ribeyes were cooked to order (medium rare). However, the steaks consisted only of the center of the rib-eye (no spinalis) and there was a lot of untrimmed fat. The waitress never cracked a smile. Branded as a steak place, Georgie does not stand out in this regard. After several dinners (we kept coming back because of the atmosphere and décor), we have decided to take a break. The wait staff need a "reorientation."

Mother's Day lunch reservation disaster today. Waited 30 minutes to sit. Waited another 25 for someone to take any order. A drink would have helped at this point. Finally sought out a waiter. By the time our order was taken, they were out of two of the items we had planned to order. Started raining on us. Had to ask to be moved in. Were offered hand-held umbrellas. Not a joke. And $500 plus tip later, food was uneven. Green gazpacho was mediocre and flavorless. The Bronzino was fine but nothing exceptional. A meal that was supposed to start at 1:45 pm ended at 4:30. Grave disappointment when our kids were trying to do something extra-special for us.

Excellent time at Georgie last night. Really could not have been a better experience (unless we ordered less food, our money on our sides was definitely wasted!) I wish we had written down the name of our server because she was wonderful. Food: duck for two, probably the best we have eaten, more than enough food for two. No need for any sides. It came with a savory bread pudding. We ordered the mushrooms (delicious) and the potatoes (did not eat) as well. No dessert as we were too full but they brought guava jellies and coconut cream truffles at the end of the meal. The bread with the French butter was delicious. It feels rare to get bread actually served at the right temperature. Alcohol: We ended up just having a glass of wine each, Sauvignon Blanc and Rose Gold. Both nice. They had several glasses we would have been happy with. Frankly, even if we had wanted a bottle, the list was too long to navigate after a day in the sun. I noted it was our anniversary on our reservation and they gave us a more secluded table which was very much appreciated. They also poured us glasses of Prosecco at the end of the meal which was lovely.

We went here for our anniversary dinner. Had the 5 course meal with wine pairing. Every course was delicious. The pasta melted in your mouth and the steak was perfectly prepared. Absolutely do the more expensive wine pairing it was worth every extra dollar. The entire staff were outstanding and are worth going back for.

The food was good but the whole experience was horrible. We waited for the food more than an hour. They sat us in the patio which is in front of the Butcher shop and you don’t even feel in a restaurant but more like in a food court in a shopping centre. The chairs and tables were improvised, being leather chairs in a very hot area (made us sweat heaps) that day in Dallas it was really hot (40 Celsius, around 103 F). Other people were sitting in the proper Georgie terrace, but we didn’t get that privilege. We had high expectations from this place, being Australians and knowing Curtis from the Coles ads and recipes, and seeing all these nice food photos on Instagram, and then having that horrible time there, it was shocking. After months in quarantine, we drove from Houston and booked at Georgie in advance (but had to change the time due to unforeseen reasons). The waiter was not wearing the mask appropriately, but he was nice and I think they are making an effort in these weird times (pandemic, masks compulsory, lots of people wanting to dine out, the hot weather). They did give us complimentary delicious cookies at the end, and the food was good, but the experience it self was nothing as expected.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food!!
I was really impressed with Georgie’. Thoughtful design, wonderful food and high service staff. It is great for dates or business meetings. We took 8 in for out of town clients. They all loved it. The steaks were amazing!!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent!
[Curbside takeout during COVID-19]. The seafood chowder was flavorful and full of seafood (potato was present but didn’t outweigh the seafood which was great). We thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian lasagne- the pasta throughout was well cooked. Finally the lamb curry was excellent! Not overly spicy and balanced with an occasional raisin for sweetness. The lamb was very tender. Great value- prices have been readjusted thoughtfully during this time and meal sizes were generous. We look forward to trying other food on the menu and hopefully dining here when restaurants re-open.
