Grand Harbor Seafood and Dimsum Restaurant Burlingame Reviews from The Last Year
Great ambiance and good food.
Is it the best dim sum? Absolutely not. But was it good? Yes. I'm not trying to find the best of the best, but only to say the food here is good for quality dim sum dishes as you can see with the business they rack in. Service is what I expect from an Asian dim sum restaurant (it was adequate and you can flag a person down if need be). We went with family here and had a great time. Not a long wait and food was delicious. Highly recommended!
Came here on a Saturday morning when it opened for a party
Came here on a Saturday morning when it opened for a party of 3 with my old coworkers. We didn't get there early enough to sit by the window, overlooking the bay. Parking is really easy as they have a parking lot. Ordering is also really easy, we got tea and a couple of things-- my friend really like their sticky fried rice that has sausage and other things in it, it's pretty heavy. We got green beans for our vegetable, deep fried potstickers, this eggplant dish that had meat in it, two different type of rice cakes with meat and shrimp. And we also got some tea that they consistently refill and for dessert chrysanthemum jelly. It wasn't too busy when we were there so they let us pretty much hang out there the entire time. Lots of huge parties and people come and go as quickly or as long as they want. They don't take reservations so it's first come first serve. I really enjoyed the view and lighting. Affordable pricing and good dim sum!

Dim sum with a view! The fam was craving dim sum during our recent trip to the bay area, so we decided to check out Grand Harbor Dim Sum & Seafood. We visited on Christmas Day and seemed like the entire town had the same idea. The parking lot was full and navigating it can be tricky. The restaurant was packed and there was a long wait. I think we waited about an hour. The main dining room has big glass windows and glass on the ceiling which brought plenty of natural light in. The windows also gave us stunning views of the bay. The carts came by shortly after we were seated. A server also came by to take orders. We ordered a few entrees and a variety of dim sum. I mostly ate my favorites, har gow (shrimp dumplings), cheung fun (shrimp rice noodle rolls), and snow pea leaves. They were delicious! We ended the meal with swan durian cakes, which had real durian without the smell.. or maybe I'm just immune to it. Best to visit Grand Harbor right when they open. Otherwise, expect a wait.
This place is not worth it.
You can get a better view somewhere else with better food and service. Service is horrible yet the workers expect to get tipped. Trust me, this place is not worth your time, money, and experience.
View and ambiance with your dim sum is why you're here.
- SHUMAI was ok and nothing to write home about. - CHICKEN FEET was my favorite as the sauce was tasty, bold and the chicken feet were big and puffy. - LOTUS WRAPPED STICKY RICE was pretty good with pork, mushroom, dried shrimp, Chinese sausage and salted egg yolk. The rice didn't have too much flavor infused throughout so I liked using sauce to boost it. - BEANCURD ROLL: Piping hot and filled with a pork, wood ear mushroom, other veg and was as soft as fish cake. Sauce was on the lighter side. - PAN-FRIED TURNIP CAKE: This was alright with not too much flavor and served at room temperature. At least warming it up on the pan before serving would have been better. - PAN-FRIED SHRIMP & CHIVE DUMPLING: Disappointingly, my favorite dim sum dish was served cold so it was alright. It tasted a lot better when we took it home and warmed it up. But it was $12.88 for 6 of these babies, which is very steep. - PRESERVED EGG & PORK CONGEE: Served piping hot and more than enough for 2 people, this was pretty good. Congee was thick and flavors were pretty good. We also took this home and the flavors developed overnight so it was better. Preserved egg was ok -- it's hard to find good quality ones these days. Overall, you're here for the views so it makes sense with the price point (but it is still pricey for what you get). I'll look around for other choices but Grand Harbor has one of the best chicken feet in the Bay so far. Other things were a miss due to the flavor or lukewarm temperature.
THEY WONT LET YOU LEAVE TILL YOU TIP THEM MORE.
Horrible service. We already tipped $20 on our bill but they forced us to pay them more saying it was "mandatory" we tip more. "Owners orders". We don't mind tipping but this was ridiculous. AVOID THIS PLACE
Came here for the first time with my family.
We arrived on the dot as they opened in the morning and the host was friendly to immediately accommodate us. The restaurant looked clean and organized. Th staff are nicely made and neatly presentable. The view from the restaurant to the bay was absolutely gorgeous. You can see sfo from there where aircrafts would land and takes off. The server explained their menu and we started ordering our Dimsum. We probably got carried away as we ended up ordering too much food. haha. Anyways the food all came fresh and looks so good. As we started eating it was delicious. We enjoyed our meal and were so stuffed. We had more than enough food to bring home. The prices are not bad and they were affordable. We will definitely return.

Solid dim sum spot for Saturday or Sunday lunch! Love their backed bbq pork buns and egg custard tarts! It's always very busy but it's nice that they have a large waiting area with seats in front while you wait for your number to get called!
It's a nice restaurant with fantastic views.
Menu is easy to use and food is good. The service is why I didn't give 5 stars.
Excellent service, great delicious food.
Easy to park, water view and walk trails nearby.
Horrible service.
No water refills. Food had hair in it. Still I paid my bill in full without complaining. This bill was very high because every dish is $12.00 or above. Was not worth the price. I added tip even though I didn't have to and the staff had the audacity to demand a higher tip as I was paying at the counter. Even followed me out the door to demand more tips. I told them I can tip however much I wanted and they were even lucky I tipped considering the poor service. They demand me to tip the highest suggested percentage. The fucken audacity. What a laughing stock of a restaurant. Never going there again. Be aware people! This restaurant is money hungry. Wished the chef Guy Fieri they advertised on their multiple 50 inch tv screens knew how pathetic this restaurant is. I would rate 0 stars if there was a button for it.

Very rude customer service! They don't care about their customers! The place was a mess, specially the bathrooms!! Will never come back!!
Them baked bbq pork buns are def would come back for more
Them baked bbq pork buns are def would come back for more of those, the location is primo but heads up, parking is no bueno.
This place was like eating in a convention hall.
1 huge room with people packed into an endless sea of tables. Service was horrible, no greeting, no smiles. After being seated, about 10 minutes went by before the waiter came to take our order. He basically said, what do you want. We ordered, Chef's Special, fried rice, and a giant clam. They printed out our order and came back and taped it to the table top. About 10 more minutes (still not even water on the table), they came to let us know they were out of clams. We finally had to flag our waiter down to get drinks, and he looked annoyed, then yelled at a busser to fetch them for us. Meanwhile he stood rubbing elbows with the larger table behind us, drinking wine with them. Yes, I literally watched him pour it from the bottle, and drink it. While treating us like he was too busy to serve us. I got my food about ten minutes after that. They placed it on the end of the table, scratched off my dish from the taped receipt, then left without saying a word. It was another 10 minutes before the next dish was brought out, scratched off, and placed on the end of the table. Overall, it felt like a money mill, get em in, get em out. No time for pleasantries. Food was mediocre at best. Traditional I guess, but the Chef Special was full of small bones and huge pieces of fat (probably part of the tradition). I guess I can't blame them that I ordered something I thought was gross. lol. It looked better on the picture. Huge whole pieces of ginger. Fried rice was ok, but needed soy sauce, which was never provided/offered. Seemed like one of those places where they wouldn't give you seasonings because the chef knows better than the customer (just the vibe I got). All and all, I won't go back. It's probably great if that's your culture, but if it's not what you're used to, it's an experience you should leave off your list.
I've eaten here several times in the past year and done dim
I've eaten here several times in the past year and done dim sum takeout. I never had anything i didn't like here. Noodle dishes are a little small, but go for the dim sum. Service is brisk, though plan to wait if you get here at peak lunch hour. The waiting area fills to standing room only. It's a little difficult to add to your order (order form) and when you food starts coming, most of it arrives at the same time.
Great place for authentic dim sum
Hey All. The most authentic dim sum house I’ve been to in a long time. I’m not a frequent flyer but they had the most delicious food. Try the steam marinated chicken feet. I’ve been wanted to try chicken feet for years and finally took the plunge and it blew my mind! Love this place!
Wow! We had a party of 20-1/2 and we all fit on one table.
The glass lazy Susan was crazy big. The lazy Susan was like table size by itself. This was the largest table I have ever sat in. But I couldn't spend too much conversation with the rest of my relatives on the opposite side of the table. It was really really that big. We had reservations for that table at 11:00am on a Saturday. All the food was really on point. My family went crazy on ordering the dim sum. Rule of thumb is 2 dim sum orders per person and some large plates of noodles, chow mein and chicken wings. We had all the usual and tripe and chicken feet and curry brisket mai fun. It was a lot of food - ending up over $800 for 20 people but well worth it. I like the parking. I like how the food came out one at a time so we could digest and eat more. I like how they had this large table to fit my family. All the fried food - gin doi, Hom sui qwok were really crispy. The chicken feet was easy suck off the bones. And I like how they don't add the tip to your bill. You select 15%, 18%, etc.
The food is delicious and very traditional.
The service is quick and efficient. The ambiance is family feel.
Food was bland and parking was awful! 2 stars for good
Food was bland and parking was awful! 2 stars for good service. The menu that we got was prefilled with someone else who must have used it first. We ended up getting things that we never marked on the menu. We won't be back.
Very good dim sum nice view.
They have the best chicken feet very tasty. Love it! Make sure you go there when they open because parking lot can filled up fast especially the weekend. It's close to the SF airport.
Birthday Celebration Dinner!
On December 27, 2023, my family and I celebrated my husband's birthday at a restaurant. Our server, Gordon, was very accommodating. We ordered twelve items from the menu, but unfortunately, we ordered the chow mien late and did not eat it as everyone was already full. We decided to take it home but found very little chow mien left in the to-go box. Surprisingly, we also found that the one-leg crab was in a separate to-go box. Although I was not planning to leave a review, paying the total price and not getting the right leftover food was disappointing. We paid $553.00 for our meal and were disappointed with the overall experience. It is essential to confirm the contents of to-go boxes when taking food home to avoid such situations in the future. I even called the following day to talk to the manager and was advised that he would call me back, but no one did. It was a disappointing experience overall.
Authentic Chinese Food
Excellent authentic Chinese food! The duck appetizer was delicious. Scallops with egg tofu was delicious as well, I’m not one for tofu but it was surprisingly good! Give it a try! Staff was very attentive.
Decent food and service at reasonable prices
Decent food and service at reasonable prices. All the times we have been here for dinner, it was never busy, but the holiday weekend was unusually busy to do the amount of wedding receptions they had.
Good dinner needs better customer service
I ordered the Duck to go. It was very good, however the service was below par. I told the cashier I would go sit at the front and wait. When I went to ask about my order, she just pointed to the little table, not sure how long my order was sitting there even though she said ok when I told her I would go sit. I'm sure they could improve on customer service.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
