What the lack in food options they make up in service
We arrived a little too early before the restaurant opened, but the waitress let us in 30 mins early. We were hungry and wanted to order lamb chops. Alas, we had to order veal instead. And I asked for a tarama -my starting point for any Greek meal and lemon potatoes, another favorite of mine. The veal was tender and delicious and tarama along with warm bread was very tasty. Gregory's Corner is perhaps one the best small taverna in Astoria. What they lack in choices on the menu, they make up in service. The waitress who took our order was really on point and gave us solid recommendations. Gregory's is a nice cozy spot with a truly Mediterranean feel. The tables are well-spaced, and the decor is bright and breezy. Outside the restaurant is a little hard to make out up the street and is covered with too much foliage. The entrance is not clearly marked. Inside you can hear the waitress and owner arguing and speaking in Greek. It got a little intence at times, but was fun

The place is rustic and as described by Michelin (it's a bib gourmand). Everything was delicious. Of course, we ordered too much but we enjoyed everything and we were able to give dishes to an adjoining table when we couldn’t finish them! We started with fried fresh, breaded, and sautéed anchovies ($20) which we love, and with scordalia ($7) which was yummy with the anchovies. Automatically bread and an olive oil with minced olive mixture were brought to the table. Also complimentary was a dish of stewed chickpeas that were soft and tasty. With that, we ordered a soup to warm Dimitri up and it was perfect ($14): it had a rich base with celery in it and was called burasi goup (dida) or something like that. Separate from the base, meat, potato, and carrot were served. Dimitri really liked it. We ordered a ½ carafe of the house red ($17) and that was good. For our “main”, we ordered the skiotakia and glikadakia (liver and sweetbreads) that were sautéed with onion and were absolutely delicious and tender ($25) along with the zucchini patties. For dessert, we were automatically brought a semolina cake that Dimitri loved. Yperochos! We spent $103 plus tip and were very happy.

We came late on a Friday for dinner. Got a not-so-fantastic table. Baby shark with lemon potatoes was great. Feta starter should have been spicy and was not. Nice beet salad, large portion. Greek salad with grilled shrimp was OK. Service was friendly and agile. We would go back.

We've had dinner on August 1st .. I love Greek foods so I was so excited but...
I've had souvlaki with pork.. Kind of disappointed The reviews said so much good things but ive had much more tasty souvlaki with lamb meat with almost same price at different Greek restaurant. :):)
I noramlly ate everything Yes I was hungry but in the end I gotta bored cause no much tastes on meat. The rice was simple plain .. salad was just feta cheese nothing special
I gotta fed up so I didn't finish left few pieces of pork. Maybe I should have order fish with olive garlic sauce.. Lemon potato was yummy but Ive had better one.
Service was okay. but I think I would rather go to other places :):)
Well at least we've had experienced! that's what count!
Great value authentic Greek food
Great authentic Greek food - a hidden gem! Best octopus I ever had. Recommend house wine instead of bottle. Wonderful whole fish and cold appetizers. Reasonable priced and family run. Loved it.

I wanted to explore Queens, which is one of the most diverse places in the world. Astoria is known for its exemplary Greek food. I sought this place out because Andrew Zimmern named it as one of his favorite places in Queens on his show “The Zimmern List.” It’s a small unassuming place with a very small inside. I ate outside and really enjoyed people watching on the patio. The server, who may have also been a manager or owner, was very welcoming and helpful. I asked her to order for me. She ordered meatballs and fried zucchini and egg plant. Both were very good and clearly authentic. The meatballs were bursting with flavor and had a crisp on the outside. A little lemon brightened them up (but they were great without too). The meatballs came with these boiled? broiled? Garlicky tart potatoes with a tasty chewy skin. The fried eggplant and zucchini had a crisp outside and a juicy inside, but was not greasy. Well seasoned with a garlic mashed potato (served Greek style, not southern style) in the middle. I was also given a complimentary little desert. Should also be noted they serve complimentary bread with a spread (plums? Raisins? Something both sweet and savory). Large portions, could easily buy plates and share. The menu is expansive, with lots of appetizers, fish dishes, souvlaki, gyros, and even crab cakes and baby shark. Service and food both excellent, in a vibrant, diverse neighborhood.

Even the restaurant is not big, but the taste of all dishes are amazing, from fried calamari to grilled octopus all the start up dishes are so yummy makes you wonder if is room for some fish . Please go there and you will not be disappointed.

Small neighborhood place. Not many frill but a friendly atmosphere. The food is top notch. If you want authentic Greek good at a good price, give this place a try.

We visited Gregory’s following a recommendation from a lifelong Astoria resident and we are so glad we listened to her! The feta with honey appetizer was definitely our favorite along with the fried calamari! Can’t wait to come back and try all the other foods on the menu!
Our waitress was also very friendly and dealt with a very difficult customer on the table behind us in a kinder way than they deserved!
Love everything about this place

My husband and I enjoy Greek food. Especially the Greek salad and grilled calamari since travelling to Greece a few years ago. We read Gregory’s reviews and decided to make the 50 minute trip from the Village via 3 trains. Worth it. We prefer good neighborhood restaurants where the locals go. We were welcomed warmly. A pleasant environment. Service was friendly and timely. We kicked things off with a Fix beer and a large Greek salad. The feta cheese was delicious. The kalamata olives too. The vegetables were cut chunky style, chilled and flavorful. We ordered a half carafe of the white wine to accompany the grilled calamari. Good choice. The other patrons were primarily Greek. We smiled happily as we recalled our trip to the Greek islands and enjoyed our meal. We also enjoyed the cheese stuffed peppers. Prices are fair and the food was delicious. We will return.

There is this small terrific restaurant where the Greek food is so tasty, inexpensive served to you with the smile. A real pleasure to spend an hour or two and to walk away with such a good feeling.
You will not regret.
Ok
Met a friend here for lunch recently. Friendly service but waitress forgot about refilling glasses after meal was served (or to ask if we wanted anything else to drink). We had the Pork souvlaki plate and baby shark. Had ordered the grilled shark but were served the fried shark. Regardless, both meals were flavorful. Pork a little too fatty. We were served a complimentary dessert as well.
