Hispania Brussels Bruxelles Reviews from The Last Year
Food was excellent, crochet appetizer.
Steak with Fai Grois, mashed potatoes and mushrooms was prepared excellent Service exceeded expectations and Mater di from Portugal was amazing. Ambiance very nice and comfortable dining room.
Tasty but pricey
Very tasty food and dishes you rarely find elsewhere. The steak was one of the best I’ve had. However, it is very expensive.
I've already tried it, glad I went but I wouldn't go back
Very good service, although at the end of dinner a little slow. In my opinion the price is too high for the product offered. I really wanted to go and I was a little disappointed...I wouldn't go back. Even so, I am Spanish and a fan of Spanish and Mediterranean food so the level of demand was very high. For people who are not so involved in that kitchen and who do not mind paying those prices, I recommend it ;)
Always excellent!
Second visit to this excellent and very beautiful Spanish restaurant, this time with three people. Cozy atmosphere, beautiful round table, attentive and smiling service from a Spanish team, well-made dishes (note the real roast shoulder of lamb and the tasty Segovia suckling pig). Excellent wines served by the glass. A beautiful address that is definitely worth the detour in Sablon.
Very good choice
The interior is chic but certainly does not feel uncomfortable. The menu offers a huge choice of tasty dishes, one visit is actually not enough. The starters made it clear why Spanish cuisine is one of the most interesting in the world, and you can also continue to eat the main courses. This is really a very good restaurant!
Bad treatment by the manager
This place is a real disappointment, especially with the customer treatment of its manager, who in a very bad manner and without any type of empathy left us without a table on our anniversary for arriving 20 minutes late, also claiming that he had called us to warn us about it. Although we showed him that no one had called us, despite having tears in my partner's eyes due to disappointment, the bad manners on the part of this manager continued. We understand the part of the blame, despite not having been notified of the time at which the kitchen closed since that does not appear through The fork. As we left, some customers who were sitting at the door and spoke Spanish confirmed how badly we had been treated and pitied us for the lack of understanding we received. A little better treatment for future customers despite not being able to serve them would be better, since we were totally willing to pay the price that that meal deserved. We complain about the treatment, not the circumstances.
Let's not shy away from our pleasure
Since my first comment, in the very early days of the opening, several notable visits, the last dating from last week, convince me to now give the best rating, such consistency is there, such is the pleasure of finding an address recommended in the capital is great, as the prices remain reasonable despite the economic situation, as the place remains fundamentally beautiful. Let's not shy away from our pleasure!
An Iberian scent in Brussels
An excellent lunch with friends around Spanish cuisine. I took the scallops, enhanced with sparkling wine and roasted garlic petals, then a small shoulder (epaulette?) of lamb. Effective. Negative point (well, depending on your point of view): the setting was quite dark (should I say discreet?)
Poor experience
Brussels has many great restaurants, unfortunately, this was not one of them. After staying several nights in the hotel, we decided to try Hispania. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that the restaurant does not function well. There is no hostess, no bartender. Instead, one server running around and trying her best. Two “managers” just kind of slugging around with the server running laps around them. Needless to say, this lead to long gaps in service. The octopus starter was cooked perfectly, and the lamb was also great quality. However, that was it. Amuse bouche was lazy. Mushroom croquettes seems like the exact mushroom soup from the amuse, just fried. Steak was ordered medium-rare and sent back when it came close to well done. The replacement steak was rare at best and very chewy, not rested. The side dish to the lamb was some sort of vegetable salad with potato purée. The puree however, had so much xanthum gum that it felt more like glue than potato. Te his restaurant is recommended by Michelin, but with no star. Which is generous, considering how backward this restaurant is for the HEFTY price tag. A true Michelin experience should seem flawless. This dinner seemed to be mostly comprised of flaws. Really too bad
What a desappointment
An expeditious service, a very agitated butler, disinfecting the tables while customers are still present... customers including people who, given their status, are used to famous tables. A menu offering dishes with prices that do not match what is presented on the plate. In conclusion, Not recommended.
Nice and cheerful waiters
Good Spanish cuisine, but I wouldn't say exceptional. The desserts are rather mediocre (see the arroz con leche with a sugar crust certainly caramelized with the gas cane) Nice and cheerful waiters, informal despite the rather high prices.
When service makes the difference
The restaurant is really good, but Alfonso makes the experience great. I would definitely suggest a visit for the food a really great offering well prepared. But the service made all the difference. Thanks Alfonso!

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
