A must experience!
This was our second time to the House of cards. We had such a great fun experience the first time we wanted to bring some friends back with us. Everything was top-notch from start to finish. Great entertaining magicians, and the food and drinks were wonderful. Nashville has a lot of great restaurants but this one is unique. Highly recommended if you visit this great city!
Be the first to ReplyA true surprise!!
This was the nicest dinner we had while in Nashville. The atmosphere was very upscale and the service matched it well. Dinner was tasty and the drinks were great. But the magic shows surrounding the area were by far the best I have ever seen. They let you sit right next to them and watch as closely as you want. It’s truly amazing what these magicians can do. Maybe a little expensive but for a dinner and a show, well worth it!!!
Be the first to ReplyDon’t order the steak
Went with very high expectations. Location and atmosphere was incredible. Very knowledgeable staff and were very friendly. Here’s where we went wrong. Our server talked me into their own waygu steak. A mix of Japanese and Australian cattle. Absolutely terrible piece of meat. Was not asked once how the steak was and server avoided our table until everything was cleared. At that point I attempted to not allow this to ruin the evening. After much thought the price tag finally got me to write this review. The steak was $100 and wasn’t even worth $30. I’ve had sirloin steaks more tender.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience, subpar food
You come for the experience, not the food. Drinks and service were good. The magic and the atmosphere were very cool. Would not recommend the mac and cheese or asparagus. Glad we gave it a try but had to get a snack before we went home.
Be the first to ReplyFoodies Beware - Your Money is Better Spent Elsewhere
The entertainment was average and the food was disappointing. For the money spent, there are numerous better food experiences to be had in Nashville. This place creates a sense of exclusivity by enforcing a strict no-photo policy. While this tracks with the Speakeasy vibe, it also means you can't just hop on here, or Yelp, and find truthful photos of the experience. The ambience is ok - but the whole place feels dated - and not because it's supposed to feel like a 1920s/30s speakeasy. The menu, although carrying several luxurious items (caviar, wagyu, etc) is an uninspired selection of old-school steakhouse vibe dishes and poor attempts to make any visiting vegetarians happy. The banquet-style plating feels like an after thought. Everything I ate desperately needed salt. I had the pork chop, which is garnished with pomegranate seeds. I unfortunately learned that when pomegranate seeds have gone over, they actually taste like nail polish remover. (Google it, it's a thing.) But we were pressed for time (you have to finish by a certain time to go see the show so they can seat the next round of dinner) so I just picked the seeds out and ate the rest of my dish. The pork chop was cooked well. But did not strike me as a $50 entree in any way shape or form. The entertainment was ok. Nothing truly awe-inspiring. It felt like lackluster cruise ship entertainment. The best thing about this place is the bar and the cocktails. I will say I had one of the best old fashions I've had in a while, and their wine selection was nice. But if you're a foodie, this is 1000% not where you want to be dropping your hard-earned money in this economy. There are award-winning culinary things happening in this town. Go there. Avoid this.

Fun evening for a special occasion!! We went for our wedding anniversary!! Decor very vintage and it felt like we walked into a 1930’s speakeasy!! It was pricey, but when you think that you are getting dinner and entertainment price is not bad. Good food and great service!! Magic show was fun and the table magicians were great!!!!

Had a great night out with friends- had the sea bass with Parmesan truffle fries, tasted the lobster Mac & cheese-all were good! The magicians were very entertaining and enjoyed the show and our time at their table. Wonderful night!
Be the first to ReplyUnique and totally worth the price!
This is the best dinner experience I’ve had in my life. I’m well travelled and have had quite unique experiences before, but this one is hands down the best. Food was great. Expensive but great. I wish sides were included in the price but they were a la carte. Attention to detail was superb. We loved how they offered to hold on to our to go box so that we didn’t have to haul it around from one magic performance to another (there are a few tables set up where you can see magic up close). We feel like we got the VIP experience that night. First of all, we booked a reservation at the bar (only because table reservations were already booked). We made a note that we would like to get a table if possible. When we arrived, we were delighted to learn that they actually did read our note and moved us to a table. I love that the magic shows are intimate - totally not a Vegas show where the whole theater is packed and you can’t see much. There are two small tables set up where maybe 10 people at the most can watch the tricks being performed, so it’s literally happening in front of you as if you are an only guest. Then there’s a bigger theater for a scheduled show (there are multiple show times per night). That one lasts about 30 minutes. It can maybe seat 50 people, so it’s still intimate. They also validated our parking and comped the desert as it was my birthday. They also took a picture of us and printed it out for us to keep free of charge! They even emailed me a digital copy per my request. Most places would charge you for that but this restaurant didn’t and we greatly appreciated it. It felt like they didn’t try to profit off of us by using a no photos policy (yes, you aren’t allowed to take pictures inside). All in all, it was expensive, yes, but considering that you’re also getting a free magic show and validated parking downtown, I say it’s totally worth it if you’re looking for a unique experience or are willing to spend $250/night for 2 people.

We loved the whole vibe--the mystery and the magic made for a great evening. Our waiter was exceptional with great recommendations. The food was good. My husband had a filet with caramelized onions that was so tender and flavorful with a side of broccolini and parmesan fries. Broccolini was good, fries not so much. My panzanella salad was exceptional while the butternut squash pasta was good but nothing noteworthy. The cocktails -- black Manhattan and chocolate martini-- were perfect. Then the table magic and magic show were all high quality. We enjoyed the patio and the ghostly piano player. Highly recommended for the experience!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Entertainment; Subpar Food
So excited to celebrate a milestone birthday here. The magicians are incredible; the food is subpar. The overall atmosphere is classy and sophisticated with an air of enchantment. Service did not match expectations--with almost a hard sell like quality ( seriously. the server recommended a $700 bottle of wine). The burrata was average, the wedge salad and beet salad were good. The pork chop was dry and the Brussel sprouts bland. The Butternut Squash Pasta was described as ribbons of "Butternut pasta"...it was a huge heap of butter nut squash ribbons ...flavorful, but not pasta. The creamed corn side was delicious. The entertainment is 5 star...bravo to the magicians for their amazing shows.. however, the food is two star...and that's because of the sides. This is a one and done for us.
Be the first to ReplyColor me disappointed!!!
So, my wife and I went there this past Sunday and I'm still shaking my head in disappointment! The magic, yes was entertaining but the dinned was most disappointing! Seems the kitchen had a lot of ELK leftover so the waitress was pushing it. It was tough and dry! I had the porkchop that was disguised with a coating of marmalade to hide the dry tough porkchop! I really had to work to saw my way through the pork! Dinner for two for $250 should be somewhat enjoyable! If you are going here, opt for a steak. They are hard to make bad! This is the first time I had to leave this type of review! Color me disappointed!

We never heard of the House of Cards! Visiting Nashville, our family suggested this location, it is a different venue, below the Johnny Cash Museum, but when you get there you will be impressed. The food is excellent, the entertainment is amazing. Check the dress code before you go. I will be visiting again the next time we are in the city. The picture is the Elk dish
