I Dumpling Redwood City Reviews from The Last Year
Had a great ambiance right as we walked in.
We loved the food and the amazing service! Some of our favorites were the soup dumplings, bacon enoki mushrooms, chicken skewer, and the shrimp/pork & chive dumplings. A must try downtown Redwood City restaurant!

Daughter was craving for soup dumplings and came across this restaurant on Yelp. Ordered Togo: Shanghai soup dumplings, cucumbers salad, vegetarian dumplings, and bean curd noodle salad. I think soup dumplings are not best when ordered for a pick up. It was warm and the soup was either on the bottom of the container or it was not juicy so the experience was not the best. Veggie dumplings were not good. I think it was minced cabbage. Cucumbers salad and the bean curd noodles salad was too salty for our liking. Not sure if I would order this again in the future but I would give it another try if I'm in the area. Daughter was hungry so forgot to take photos of the food :(

Came here for lunch on Sunday; walked in around 1pm and the place was decently full. We ordered the Beijing noodle (4/10: noodles were too soggy and the dish was overall pretty flavorless), the beef stew noodle soup (8/10: soup was good but noodles were also too soft), the pork and shrimp dumplings (7/10: not bad, a bit pricey), and the xiao long bao (6/10: way too dough-y at the top of the dumplings). Service was friendly, and I love supporting local/mom-and-pop small businesses. We'll probably come back again, but our honest opinion of the dishes we ordered was mediocre.

The dumplings are much better than the frozen ones one can buy from Chinese markets. I think they are handmade by the restaurant. Parking near the restaurant is hard to find no matter the time of day. May have to park near the train station and walk to the restaurant.
A great little hole-in-the-wall for home style Chinese food.
Their dumplings are simple, tasty, and very reasonably priced (most flavors are $9.95 for an order of 12). We tried the pork and chive, pork and cilantro, pork and napa, pork and shrimp and chive, and a vegetarian one just for the hell of it. I love how the wrappers are a little thicker and doughier; you know they're making their own wrappers and they taste exactly like my mom's dumplings. The only ones I would pass on again are the pork and shrimp ones (I couldn't taste enough difference between those and the just pork and chive so it wasn't worth the $3 price difference to add shrimp) and the vegetable ones (you just need some meat for the right filling texture). We also ordered the chive pancake and the xiao long bao. The pancake was ok, but the wrappers on the XLB were way too thick (almost as thick as the dumpling wrappers) and the inside not juicy enough. I wouldn't order either of those again, but don't sleep on their dumplings!

We ordered Shanghai soup dumplings, green chive pancakes, pork dumpling with Napa cabbage, pork dumpling with green chive, pork and shrimp dumpling with green chives, pork dumpling with cilantro, and vegetarian dumpling. Everything came out quickly as ordered. The green chive pancakes were on the oily end. The dumplings had a thicker wrap that I prefer. They seem to be made in house! I thought the soup dumplings could be more flavorful as well. It was able to fulfill the dumpling craving! I would come back and try the other items on the menu.
Ordered through Uber eats .
Unfortunately there were no chopsticks or condiments ! :( Chicken and Spinach Dumplings were a 3/5. Good but something about them turned me off ! They had high ratings on Uber eats. Chow Mein vegetarian was ok . 3.5/5 The noodles felt slightly doughy? Vegetarian potstickers 5/5! I'd get again for sure. I'd give them a second go and hope they have condiments and Chop sticks next time !

I came here with my family on Christmas Eve morning because we were craving dim sum. First off, the restaurant itself is a tiny hole in the wall space on Broadway Street but it looked like they took over the space next door for additional seating. Nothing fancy or flashy, kind of something you'd expect in Chinatown. The service itself was ok, not the friendliest but very typical Asian restaurant service where they're very straightforward (I'm Asian and encounter this all the time). We ordered the Shanghai Soup Dumplings, Green Onion Pancakes, salt and pepper tofu, wonton soup, lamb dumplings, and the pork and shrimp dumplings. My favorite dishes were the soup dumplings and the SP tofu, which was super crispy on the outside and soft and silky on the inside. The green onion pancakes were pretty oily and all the dumplings kinda just tasted the same after awhile. The wonton soup were just the wontons in a light broth, nothing super special and the wontons tasted exactly like the other dumplings. I know they hand-make the dough and noodles in house which is cool but they were a little too thick for my liking. Maybe I'm just not used to Taiwanese style of dim sum/dumplings but I'd probably only come back for the soup dumplings.

We just recently tried their frozen dumplings, and they are really good! We came back and ordered four bags - pork and cabbage, shrimp and pork. Super convenient to cook a pack as a fast, kid friendly meal. We previously drove to Fremont to get Bings, but we prefer these.
Quick and friendly service.
Good sized portions, and relatively cheap prices. Their Wonton Noodle Soup had a deep rich broth, and the wontons were tasty. The Chicken Fried Rice was good as well.
