Exceptional food and service ☺️
Can’t understate how good the food is, almost every dish was crafted/plated to perfection. Impeccable service and hospitality where surprisingly there is a LOT of service staff per table. The view at this floor level is breathtaking! The lunch degustation menu will certainly make you full (I started with an empty stomach) and I couldn’t finish the pastries at the end

Simply put then if you want a great meal in fabulous surroundings served to perfection by waiters and chefs that cares for their guests, then you need to pay this restaurant a visit. If I should put a finger down on anything then it would be that the portions are a little too big. Amongst the fabulous dishes there always have to be one that sticks out and for us (surprisingly to me) was the Hen’s Egg, best egg ever. If you have a winner then there also has to be one that comes last, without having any flaws, and that was the Guinea Fowl.

First time at Jaan. Heard very good reviews of the original Jaan restaurant but never tried. Was excited to discover the heights of culinary pleasure at the top floor of Swissotel. For a two Michelin star restaurant, I left somewhat underwhelmed even though I enjoyed my time as it was still a romantic dinner with my spouse. I arrived looking foward to a multi-sensory experience and found myself stepping into a rather crowded dining room. The adjourning restaurant has better views and at a friendlier price tag. But, we were not here just for the view. First impression was that service can definitely be improved. Staff are friendly and eager and service started before wine/ drink orders were taken. Felt like service staff were new, which did not match up with the Michelin expectation. Enjoyed the food mostly, though the more signature dishes were not of personal preference. My spouse quite enjoyed the guinea fowl which I found too heavy/ gamey. The burnt leek and potato soup was very good and the chocolate dessert tasted better than it looked, which was a nice surprise. Perhaps it could truly be an elevated dining experience if you score a table by the window. Lastly, we were not sure if the dress code was fully adhered to. The dining experience includes an immersion of one's surroundings afterall.
Be the first to ReplyGreat three hour+ lunch experience
French two star michelin restuarant. Executive chef is from England and the ingredients are mostly imported. Had lunch and we ordered the 5 course menu. The food was great. We enjoyed the food served. However for the main course, my spouse did not enjoy the lamb gamey taste. This is a personal preference. For those who dislike it, the chef mentioned diners can request to change the main dish. It was great experience. The service was pretty good and we enjoyed our 3 hours + dining in Jaan. Will we visit them again? Perhaps.....
Be the first to ReplyI am glad I visited JAAN! Above my expectations!
So, here I am back in Singapore... six months after my gastronomic trip back in Dec 2022, I decided to visit JAAN by Kirk Westaway after being highly recommended by my local friend. The experience and food quality here literally exceeded my expectation. From the decor, settings, the view (so impressive!), food quality, well experienced sommelier explaining every glass in detail during my wine flight... I have absolutely nothing to complain. I walked out feeling a very happy diner... so glad I came as the last lunch here in Singapore for this trip. I chose the full 5 course lunch menu with an addition 5 wine flight. Absolutely enjoyable lunch, although a bit long (we spent almost 3 hours there even though it didn't feel that long) with a longer lag between the main course and the dessert. My favourite was the Violin Courgette (with very nice presentation) and Hen's Egg while the Welsh lamb was also very tender. Though a but pricey, but I find it worth the dollar for what I am getting. Of course, Chef Kirk will personally come out and have a casual conversation with you to make sure all is right...
Be the first to ReplyVery expensive.
Tripadvisor suggests the average amount spent here is up to £161 pp however my partner noticed the day before we were due to eat here that it is in fact a set menu. The set menu costs over £300 per person not including drinks. To cancel within 48 hours of the booking we had to pay the full amount per person. The food was nice, staff were friendly and we had a nice view of Singapore however wouldn't return as it was extremely over priced.
Be the first to ReplyNot inexpensive but very impressive
Honestly didn’t know what to expect — and truth be told we have been to some “nice” restaurants where we have paid a lot and been very disappointed. Thankfully this wasn’t the case here! The staff were lovely; both the sommeliers were fantastic; and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The paired wines were a lovely adventure and a learning experience — and we loved the attention from the sommelier throughout the meal. I’m not quite certain why but the “hen’s egg” course gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes… it was magical…exquisite…almost beyond words. Much thought and care has gone into every course and we spent a very enjoyable three hours dining with them. A memorable evening. THANK YOU!

Amazing service, the best views in Singapore and a one of a kind tasting menu for the country. Staff were very welcoming and friendly - Chef Kirk visited all tables. They accommodated for a dietary requirement with ease.
Be the first to ReplyGreat meal with great view
I had a good experience at Jaan. Service is smooth, professional and friendly. Dinner tasting menu is great, with nice tableware. Some dishes taste average, however they come with great details and nice presentation.

Sensational New Jaan by Kirk Westaway! There is only so many ways/words to describe an amazing dining experience, today I simply cannot shower enough praise to this outstanding Chef Kirk These days I am very selective on dining, (trying to loose some of these pesky pounds) but when the right occasion arises, then it needs to be special, and yes Special it was, with old Friend Andrew Tjioe of Tung Lock fame, the occasion was perfect! A 2 & 1/2 hour gourmet temple visit, was in order and man did we get a meal that would make it to the top of the world list! I seriously cannot review and comment on all dishes, as it was simply a flawless meal matched only by impeccable service! (Some of the video clips are self explanatory) However a few that stood above the rest of this 100 pointer meal, were for example the Sweet Onion Pie, simply sublime, his Signature Hen’s Egg, in its new itineration was from presentation to savouring every little bit exceptional! The wild Seabass was great, but the sauce! Oh my god, we did both the less then proper thing and almost licked the plate, ok we used the home made bread with its superb crust to wipe every moreel of the plate that’s how good it was! The Guinea Fowl was perfectly cooked! With another exceptional sauce! I hardly enjoy a palate cleanser, but today the Clementine from presentation to finish was a highlight that blew us both away! Of course the dessert he had the chocolate, I was impressed with my Pear, Bread & Butter rounded of a meal of a lifetime! Kirk, allowing us to savour such perfection is simply a privilege! Guiseppe the Restaurant Manager & his crew did the restaurant proud! Perfect! Naturally the Champagne & Wine Selection was as excellent as everything else! Blessed we are to have such an amazing opportunity! Grateful we are to be alive and savour such outstanding quality! #singapore #foodsg #sgfoodie #sgfoodporn #gourmet #cuisine #foodagram #foodaddict #SGfood #sgfoodstagram #sglifestylesingapore #british #britishproducts #jaan #jaanbykirkwestaway #kirkwestaway

Another wonderful dinner though the chef is away at the michelin awards tonight. From the amuse bouche to the petit fours, every dish is very good to excellent. The main of guinea fowl was outstanding. Very good service
Be the first to ReplyGreat wine pairings, food from the heart
Went for lunch and had the 5-course with wine pairings. The menu looks deceptively simple online, but when you actually eat it -- wow! They don't describe everything that goes in a dish on the menu so you definitely get surprised, in a good way. The wine pairings were astounding -- they really went well and enhanced the food. (I find a lot of fine dining restaurants in Singapore usually just pair it with a random white or red that doesn't do much.) The set lunch comes with a lot of amuse bouche, sourdough bread, palate cleanser, and petit fours so you will not leave hungry. One of my favorite dishes was the palate cleanser (a cucumber sorbet), but the main lamb dish was also exquisite. There is also an optional cheese course which can be added on. Lots of British cheeses to be selected from the cheese trolley and paired with a very special fig/nut bread. Service was really good. Every table has a good view, but they moved is to another table with an even better view towards the end of the meal. Service and food really had soul and heart -- some other fine dining restaurants just do it by-the-book, Jaan felt warm. ~S$750 for 2 pax (5-course, wine pairings, 1 cheese course). Not cheap, but we both agreed it was worth it and would love to come back.
Be the first to ReplyKaiseki goes British
My first visit after Covid, and good to see the place full and food standards high. ( My second with this chef.) The basic meal is interesting and reasonably priced, but I did not drink wine despite the temptations. The treasure chest of British cheeses is very tempting, off menu, but might be a distraction from the subtleties of the basic four or five course offering. Plus leave room for the petits fours at the end. Their sour dough bread is good, and it comes at a point in the meal where you might need to take in some carbs. The dishes are beautifully prepared, but small portions, so the bread gives you some ballast. We took our leftover bread away, too good to waste. Only negatives were the music, where I had to make two requests to dial it down, and staff who could not always articulate clearly the multiple ingredients in a given dish. At least not to my ears, and I am used to Singlish. Two birthday cakes appeared while we ate, so this is clearly a place to take someone special. We had a clear day, so the views were excellent, even from a table not near the window. Music permitting, this is a good place to talk, with tables well spaced. Mr Westaway visited every table to present his cleansing sorbet, a nice touch.
Be the first to ReplyAn excellent evening with many personalised touches
I had a very enjoyable evening at JAAN on Saturday 7th May. All staff were friendly and approachable. I was eating alone but the staff engaged throughout with pleasant conversation. The food and the wine pairings were exceptional. There was an excellent range of foods on the menu and I was very full by the end and had to take my chocolates home with me. The food was inventive and embodied a range of flavours. It was really appreciated that Chef Westaway made the effort to come and introduce himself and to serve one of the courses. The fact that he also came at the end of the evening to thank me for coming was appreciated and personal. My only comment is around the actual setting and the decor - I did think more could be done regarding the setting which reminded me of a syndicate room at a conference venue. However, this did not distract from the excellence of the food and service. The window seat did allow great views over the city. Thank you all for a great evening.
Be the first to ReplyNice Michelin
Excellent British Menu Amazing good, first class service and a huge selection of wine list! Beautiful table that comes with amazing view and a luxury decor The appetizers is very good Roast leek potato soup really takes me back to my time in London White asparagus with cavair... SUPERB and including the shrimp and asaparagus, very smooth and crispy with brown butter sauce! Cut 1 star because the bread & butter has no selection because some people prefer soft bread over hard dough and the fish dish was a bit dry also I feel that the spacing between each dish was a bit too long as it does personalize individual table! Another point the course might be a little too less compared to the price and the ingredients used its not valued to the price charged, but other than that, its a must try michelin restaurant! Last disappointing thing is that wifi service is very very bad!
Be the first to ReplyAwful restaurant who hates customers
During Circuit Breaker when restaurants were not allowed to open, they pre-sold tickets for dinner. We were living in Malaysia and happy to support this business. Now that borders are open, they continue to refuse to honour these tickets. They have stolen our money and offer zero solutions.
Be the first to ReplyA truly unforgettable experience - stunning view & amazing food
Went for dinner to celebrate my birthday. Chose this place because I’m not all that familiar with British food and I wanted to give it a try and it’s one of the best decisions I ever made because JAAN absolutely blew me away!
First and foremost, the view of the restaurant is stunning and the decor was stylish. Service was impeccable. Now don’t get me started on the food - it’s one of the best, if not the best meal I’ve ever had! You can see why they have 2 Michelin stars, it’s definitely not just for show.
For drinks, we asked our server for recommendations and got a champagne and a glass of wine (unfortunately I forgot the names), and both were impressive! I don’t drink much but I enjoyed both a lot. I’ve never had champagne before but you bet I’m definitely gonna get more next time, was raving about it even after the meal. The wine was also absolutely fantastic.
As for the food, every single course was full of surprises. Everything was very exquisite and both the presentation and taste were a delight. The goose mousse was lovely, and the roast leek & potato soup was full of flavour, definitely some of the best soup I had. Even after the meal, I find myself keep thinking back about it. The squab pigeon was really the highlight of the meal. Tender, savoury, with a thin layer of fragrant and crispy crust on the surface, even the turnip that came with the dish was sweet and flavourful. The strawberry eton mess was very refreshing and I polished off my plate quickly. Words can’t express how much I enjoyed myself.
Highly, highly recommended! If the chance comes up again, I’m definitely going back for more!
Exquisite food journey
An exquisite food journey!
Excellent service; we enjoyed our interaction with the service staff.
Kirk even came by to say hello.
We will definitely be back to celebrate many more special occasions at Jaan.
An Impeccable Reinvented Experience
Elaine and Kelly took care of my reservations and delivered on their promise- a lovely window seat. But the views are not why you come here. The waitstaff was helpful, every ready-to-serve any request and explained every course and the appropriate sequence/method to truly enjoy the dishes.
Chef Kirk Westaway got out in the dining room, stopped by our table to check on our meal, and truly made us feel special.
2 Michelin stars indeed with a team that clearly put in the work and I’ll definitely be recommending Jaan for its reinvented British cuisine.
Birthday dinner
2-Star Michelin worth the price and service. Food was superb.
The dishes was paced just right. Took us about 3 hours. Dishes looks small in serving portion but by dessert time we were full.
Every single dish was pleasing to the eye and the taste was divine.
Great attention service.
Great dinner
I had an awesome dinner at Jaan. Everything cooked and presented was cooked perfectly. I have no complains. I might visit the restaurant again.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food
The dining experience at Jaan by Kirk Westaway was really special. I had requested for a window side table and we did manage to get one, though it was in the corner, which was a 4 on 5. The menu is quite nice and we were really enjoyed the variety and presentation of each dish. The appetizers were delicious and I liked their presentation. The only 2 dishes that we didn’t like was the Pigeon (a bit gamey) and the 36 hour cured Wagyu beef (which I got as a replacement of the pigeon). To be honest by the time the mains came we were quite full with the food and the gorgeous Portuguese wine we drank. Each dish was really well presented, though the explanation of the dish by the serving staff could do with a bit more tuning. We had to ask a few times to explain what the dish was. Some finesse would be good from a Michelin 2 ⭐️ ⭐️ perspective. I must say that I really enjoyed Kirk’s representation of the quintessential British food…. Definitely unique and interesting with the flavors, textures and style.
Overall, the staff was courteous and friendly. I would suggest them to consider serving some cheese along with a aperitif of some sort, as part of the experience versus the additional charge. The dessert was also delicious, I preferred the chocolate cake over the strawberry dessert, which was quite light and delectable as well. It was also nice meeting Kirk in person. I have dined in several top 50 Asian restaurants and this too was a nice box to check. The decor is a bit underwhelming, the white table cloth, flower selection etc. on the table needs to be spruced. We would like to revisit the place, perhaps for some lunch this time, so we can skip dinner that day given the amount of food we get to eat.
Singapore trip last year
The place for relaxation ,I will not forget it.the staff very kind , Finally everything perfect . Recommended for stay in vacation.
Be the first to ReplyExquisite experience
Every course of the set was an interesting yet undeniably tasty mix of flavours. Service was friendly and top-notch (thanks to Glen and his team!), and the views of the city and Bay are amazing. The rye sourdough bread is one of the best we've tasted so much so that we brought some home.
Be the first to ReplySummertime in “England”
Had the Summertime 7-course Modern British lunch overlooking the beautiful city view of Singapore.
It was an impeccable experience from the beginning till the end of my time there with my friend.
Food was well executed for their summer menu edition. Especially the “Potato & leek soup”, “sweet tomato” and the main course (chicken). The soup was just simple and nice warm comforting dish that simply reminds me of home. With a strong start to the courses with a rather simple and beautifully plated “Sweet tomato”. Look simple. Sounded rather basic but soon after you had the first bite... the mind was blown off. The balance of the acidity and the sweetness with the overall texture was so well presented. I would really loved to have more of that! After which my next most beloved course was the main course, chicken. I must say, it was the best chicken that me and my friend had ever have it in Singapore. Highly recommended to try their cheeseboard too for an alternative to classic french cheeses. English should deserve their attention for that too especially the Devonshire cheddar cheese (that was where chef Kirk was from) we chose from their cheese trolley ! It was divinely delicious with such a lovely complex profile!
Service was top notch with Rashelle that had kept us accommodating throughout our meal along with the manager, Glen that has been very hospitable and made us felt home and cosy all throughout the time. John the Assitant sommelier was too a very lovely charming guy.
Overall, the team deserve a great compliments from their hard work and I’ll definitely be recommending Jaan for the modernised British cuisine.
