Visited on a Wednesday evening, and it appeared to be busy promising of a good start however our drinks order took 15 minutes with numerous waitresses walking past us and attending other tables with desserts menu straight away after main plates was taken. Surely now half way through their meal the priority is to take a quick drinks order from a table of 2 people. After we finally got served we ordered food at the same time and as drinks and asked for our olives to be brought out before our mains, which is normal standard practice when you order olives it comes before any food as a pre appetit, our waitress repeated our order back to us for olives to come out before and they didn’t they came with the main meals.. Our mains came and no condiments or even Parmesan in an Italian restaurant were offered when the last plate was put down we had to ask. No pizza cutter was provided with the pizza we attempted to cut with a knife however this obviously wasn’t going to work, prior to this we had seen our waitress cutting the pizza in the waitress station before putting the food on a table so we had to ask for this too. Additionally there was no check back on our food to ask if it was all okay - which in fact it was the food was lovely cannot fault it! After being utterly stuffed we decided to pay for the bill, a discretionary service charge was added to the bill of 13.5%, I am all for tipping the waitress when she has provided a service however we had to ask for the things which are standard to be done but she didn’t so we asked for it to be removed to another waitress, this resulted in our waitress coming over and challenging us and saying that they don’t offer Parmesan or a pizza cutter you have to ask which is so strange when we witnessed it to over tables and let’s not forget it’s an Italian restaurant. And don’t forget it’s discretionary we are not obliged to pay if we feel the service was bad we are not paying for service which was below par and when challenged in a tone which is rude and condescending is more a reason to take it off. No member of staff should be rude to a customer. The manager was also very helpful and sorted out bill for us. When we finished paying I visited the toilets where on the stairs our waitress proceeded to barge past me. Not the etiquette you expect from a waitress. Overall, 10/10 food but service was incredibly poor when compared to over Italian restaurants me and my partner have visited.
