Jon's Grille Fort Worth Reviews from The Last Year
Mostly Good Food and Hangout
We were in downtown Fort Worth for the weekend for a wedding and we had a free night, so we decided to walk to Sundance Square for dinner and a movie. We looked at a lot of options, but a lot were fancier than we were looking for on this occasion. We wanted a quick "in and out". Jakes sounded like it fit the bill and had good reviews, so we gave it a try. Turns out I had been there years ago with my daughter for a TCU Dad's Weekend event, but I had no recollection until I saw the inside. Even though it was a Friday night on TCU graduation weekend, we were there early (5pm-ish) so we were seated right away. I had the fish tacos off of the Seasonal Bites menu, and my wife had The Jake and an order of fries. The fish tacos had quite a kick. Either the remoulade or the salsa was REALLY spicy. I like hot food, and this really had a burn. But the cod was lightly fried with just enough batter, and I thought the tacos overall were excellent. My wife liked The Jake burger. It was a pretty standard cheeseburger with a nice, fresh poppyseed bun. The fries, on the other hand, were soggy and very unappealing. But the fries aside, we enjoyed everything else about the experience. We were in and out in about 75 minutes which is what we were looking to do. If you're looking for an informal, laid-back place to get a burger and a beer and watch a game in Sundance Square, this is what you're looking for.
Great experience from a UK traveller.
Was in town from the UK for work and grabbed a bite to eat and some drinks at Jakes. Great location and some great food. I was in town ahead of my colleagues so eating solo. Food was great, and my server Tasha was incredibly chatty and welcoming. She sorted me out a special Eclipse drink which was great and we chatted about local differences between the UK and Texas. I think for me, the welcoming nature of Jakes and Tasha made the experience a great one, and we returned as a group a few days later which had the same feedback. Would return again if i'm in town.
Authentic
Banging service and banging food…. What more could you ask for… went for a bit of everything and my friend had the burger…. The jalapeño poppers were the best I have had…. Quesadilla could have been a little more on the crispy side but that’s the only constructive criticism I have.. Service was great hence the 35 dollar tip. Thank you
Good lunch spot!
Good food. Great burgers and onion rings. Fast service. friendly staff. Fair priced for a downtown eatery. Conveniently located.
So delish
Though the environment isn't much to look at, the food is AMAZING, and staff is very kind. Lily was our server and was very sweet. The burgers, fried pickles, queso fries and chocolate mellow cake were all delicious!! I'm thinking many of their orders are just Door Dashes in the city, because there is hardly anyone in there when we go. Don't let that deter you, it's so good!!
Can order any burger “as a salad”
As a low-carb eater, I appreciated the menu option to order any of their burgers “as a salad” which basically meant they remove the bun and instead serve it in a (fairly decent-size) bowl of lettuce. Lots of burgers to choose from. Husband got the bacon blue (normal, with a bun) and it was good too. Not a fancy place by any means but good service and good food.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

My reservation expired but I did not get a credit and I see no way to cancel. How do I the funds back as a credit?

I have a similar question, it seems like when money is refunded it doesnt go immediately what is the process of this since its essentially a debit card and not a credit card
