the seafood here is legit!! so fresh and sweet, the open fire grilling of food just takes it to another level. I can see why this is a favourite for people since 1967, it's so iconic. the service was also very attentive and detailed; the fish selection is brought over at request and our server did an amazing job at explaining all the fish and their respective traits. I would definitely come back on special occasions and to try their marinara sauces as well, since we stuck to their signature squid ink pasta as our first time! beautiful, rustic restaurant and definitely worth your buck over other yorkville restaurants ;)

If you like seafood, and you haven't been, you should make a reservation here. Everything we had was so fresh and thank you for the good service! Great place for a nice dinner in a quaint and relaxed atmosphere.
There is something fishy about Josos
Hospitality HOT SPOT ever since 1967 , this home away from home place has been my culinary oasis since 1987 . Their black risotto is DA BEST in the world and decor ... c-mon ..where do you have Salvador Dali and Picasso art casually displayed like in Josos . Service is top class casual with respect ! Hard copy of their menu can be framed as art how good it is , so we stole few shhhhh
I would like to write my experience with the Source.
I bought AirPods from them. first of all they were defective. the charger didn't work and when I went back to exchange they told me that the package was opened so they can't exchange. I had to open the package because how else I am supposed to know. second the warranty was only for 6 months from Apple because it started when the source bought the AirPods from apple. my recommendation is that be aware of the policy that the source have. I would not buy anything from them. I lost my money and the person told me that they couldn't do anything for me.
The food and service at Joso's are always marvelous.
Everything is fresh. I highly recommend them.

Celebrated my birthday dinner here with my boyfriend and we had such a great time. Such an interesting restaurant with very stimulating decor. Definitely fits the sensual theme. You can feel it's rich history, and it just has an overall "home-y" feeling. Here's what we ordered: For Spaghetti * Alla Leonardo $33 - 7/10 For Mains * Clams, Mussels w/ white sauce $32 + full pasta $9 - 7/10 (pretty much a spaghetti) * Grilled Octopus (half dish) $36 - 10/10 *i recommend trying this !!!! For Fish * the Spigola (Sea Bass) $40 - 8/10 For Dessert * Mango Sorbet $6 - 8/10 * Lemon Sorbet $12 - 10/10 Everything was delicious. I would recommend trying some of their fish of the week. The Spigola we had was so good, flaky and soft. I've never had Grilled Octopus like this in my life, definitely recommend trying that. The lemon sorbet was just too cute, comes in a whole rind with a little hat haha. We had a couple servers cycle in and out but each of them took time and effort to explain the menu and what their seafood of the week was. And to ensure we had everything we needed and that we were happy at all times.

Had an amazing time at Joso's! The atmosphere was cozy, and the whole experience was top-notch. Tried the Pescatora--it's a seafood dream with a touch of tomato, fisherman's style. Fresh and flavorful, every bite was a delight. The chefs really know their stuff! Wrapped up with Tiramisu for dessert. It was the perfect ending--just sweet enough without going overboard. Loved it!
Pricey but exceptional
We returned to Joso's after many years to celebrate a birthday party. We were met at the door by Paul who was very friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. The wait staff were superb in explaining the menu, displaying various kinds of fish and seafood, and knowledgeable about wine options. Our party of 10 ordered calamari, mussels, steak, risotto, spaghettini with shrimp, sardines, salads, red and white wine. Without exception, everyone's meal was wonderful. Paul continually checked on us and made sure that we had everything we wanted. Tiramisu, ice cream and cookies for dessert also did not disappoint. This restaurant is pricey, but the service and food is exceptional. Our only negative comment would be the noise. It was difficult to hear others at the table except for the person sitting right next to you. There was background music also, which made it more difficult to hear. But, the food and service made up for this inconvenience.
What a Superb Seafood Dining Experience Just Outside Of Yorkville
We arrived 1 hour earlier than our reservation of 6:30pm, and Paul, the host seated us. He made every effort to know our first names and chatted with us nicely. He also wished my wife a Happy Birthday. Our waitress: Zerha was very attentive, friendly and cheerful between showing us the intro fish platter, taking our orders, and checking with us throughout to make sure we were taken care of. The bar master informed us about the Gavi wine that we ordered and came by regularly to make sure our glasses were always filled as we expected. The wait staff collectively were superb. Our Adria salad was very tasty and the dressing was perfect. Zerha was kind enough to let us alter a menu item where we added pasta to the seafood mix of clams/mussels and shrimp. This dish was by far the best that we have ever experienced in any seafood restaurant, and we do travel much of the world and have sampled many similar dishes. We especially loved the shrimpโฆit was very dense. The dรฉcor in the restaurant is a little โwildโ with all sorts of pictures and trinkets on the walls and on shelves throughout, but kind of appropriate for Josoโs. We were pleasantly surprised by the fair prices on the menu for all items, having expected to be charged much more being that it was downtown Toronto, and on the outskirts of Yorkville. The wine bottle prices were a bit steep, assuming they were almost four times the typical price at the liquor store. All in all, we truly enjoyed our dining experience at Josoโs and we do expect to return the next time we are in the mood for some excellent seafood. it was a nice night out, to this historical and hidden gem. Thank you again for the best seafood Italian delight we have had in a long time. And will be back again, (inflation really did impact this place) to see the prices is like OOOOO la la!
Wonderful anniversary dinner
It's a small boutique restauant with excellent service and excellent seafood. We were celebrating our 39th anniversary which they acknowledged with a glass of prosecco which was a lovely gesture. The grilled fish was so delicious and the calamari was tasty. Our server was attentive and funny and worked hard to make sure we were pleased. We look forward to celebrating our next anniversary there too. Thank you Joso's for a wonderful evening.

Toronto's Best. Full STOP. You are not able to find better anywhere in Toronto. Newbies alike, this is it!
Disappointing
Knowing how Croatian sea food can taste I was looking forward to eating at Josoโs. I was disappointed with very dry sardines, and uncooked red peppers (advertised as grilled). The garlic I asked for was tasteless. After asking for the peppers to be cooked, they were still raw and went back for a third time, only to have them slightly charred. This is not grilled peppers. The sea bass was nice, the mango ice cream too. Graลกevina wine good, although we were first advised to have the most expensive Croatian wine, which arrived with a label without any writing. Would I go back? No
This is my go to place every single time I visit Toronto.
Eclectic, artsy, and delicious. Regardless of the number of new restaurants popping up all over the place, Joso's will always be my favourite. I'm so happy it is still around after all these years.
Fabulous Food and Service
Upon entering Josoโs we were warmly greeted by Paul. He made sure that we had the perfect location for my friendโs birthday celebration. The food and service are great. There are lots of excellent choices on the menu that can be shared. There is an impressive selection of fresh fish. There is also a wonderful selection of wines that complement the food. Two of us shared the Calamari. One person had the Smoked Trout Salad and the other person ordered the Tomato & Bufala. For our mains two of us had the Grilled Prawns, and the others had the Grilled Sardines and the Grilled Octopus. Everyone in our party loved every dish we had. The desserts were also delicious. Another plus is the staff. The service is seemless and professional. Our server, Shirka, provided excellent service. When we asked what choice of Croatian wine would complement our food choices, she suggested one that was an excellent choice with everyoneโs dish. It was so nice to have someone who was knowledgeable to assist us with our wine and food choices. Shirkaโs friendly and professional manner as well as her excellent suggestions were appreciated. She made us feel at home and our party had an enjoyable dining experience thanks to her. Once you have eaten here you will look forward to returning because the food is fresh and delicious and the service is first class.
Outstanding do-over at Joso
We had a bad experience at Joso and a negative review was written in 2021, I am officially changing this to a five star review! We returned to Joso after an 18 month hiatus wanting to enjoy an incredible dinner and wanting to have an experience that was the exact opposite of our previous experience. From the moment we walked through the door Paul welcomed us warmly, our servers were very present and helpful, our food was outstanding and we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. Thank you to the entire team at Joso for a wonderful evening.
Simple, yet fresh and beautifully prepared seafood.
Croatian wine is a must-try for anyone who's never tried it--it's very unique. The decor is famously bohemian and risque, but truthfully is looking a bit shabby these days and in need of refreshing.
I hear nothing but good things about this place.
Yet I never have a good experience. The first time I ever went there I was given warm bread fresh from the oven yet when I cracked it open it was frozen in the middle. LOL I was prepped to expect amazing food... then frozen bread? LOL basics The second time I went there was last night and I didn't even make it to be seated. The manager at the time was nothing but dismissive and rude the entire time after we arrived late to an already seated table. It's understandable to be tired after a long day or to simply say I'm so sorry guys but we tried to stay open as long as we could however the kitchen is now closed. I've owned numerous restaurants from franchises to the hottest supper clubs in the city. I understand. However, this manager was nothing but snide, snarky, dismissive and rude which was surprising considering who the patrons were. Lol I

We went to josos as a big group and the experience was really nice. The first thing I noticed is how homey and warm the whole restaurant feels the interior is nicely lit and there's a lot of creative art hanging on the walls. The service we got all night was very attentive and helpful. The staff around the restaurant answered all of our questions about the menu which led to a very positive experience. The food itself was really delicious. We started off with the calamari, which is a must. We also got the grilled octopus, fish of the day sea bream, Leonardo spaghetti, and a risotto. All the fish was grilled really nicely, and the pastas packed a lot of flavor. My personal favourite dish was the Leonardo spaghetti. It had a really nice simple lemon sauce that tasted amazing. For dessert we got the tiramisu the cookies and my personal favourite the lemon sorbet, which was served in a frozen lemon peel. I thought the presentation was very interesting and it was a really nice refreshing dessert to end the meal. Overall, we had a really nice time and I would definitely recommend josos for either a date or a night out with a group.
There's no doubt that Josos has great seafood and ambiance.
Unfortunately, it employs one of the worst waitresses in Toronto. Forgetting to take our drink orders, declining small requests, lack of courtesy - overall very rude and condescending. Will opt to spend my hard earned money elsewhere and support other local businesses.
Lovely unique evening
This was a lovely yet unique experience. The host welcomed us and clearly paid attention to everyone dining there. There was a definite Croatian atmosphere that was accentuated when the server brought a large plate with6-8 fish and octopus from the Adriatic and Mediterranean area available along with the menu items. The fish, if you chose one, were grilled much as they would be in that area. My fish and additional veg was devoured and no one left anything on their plate. Virtually everything was available gluten free which is essential for my wife. It was a lovely dinner with great atmosphere. We bumped onto the owner as we were leaving and had a great chat with him as well. Strong recommendation.

First trip to Toronto and being a huge Drake fan, I already had high expectations. We were seated upstairs right across from the infamous booth were Drake was seated. That table was occupied but we were able to take photos there once that party left; the staff was super chill about it as long as it's not busy and you're not disruptive. Joso's is filled with art on all the walls which was fascinating to take a deep look at while waiting for dinner. The Glass of Grasevina was pleasant, fresh, and dry with a delicious aroma. One of my favorites! In terms of food, you can tell it was all prepared with utmost care and simple yet traditional flavors. The Calamari & Shrimp Kornati was light, crispy, and just the right amount of saltiness. I absolutely loved the Alla Siciliana. Paired with the Grilled Octopus, both were remarkable dishes. The Octopus was also tender yet firm. The Tiramisu was tasty and light with balanced sweetness but not too memorable. All in all, this was one of my favorite dining experiences. Decently priced, amazing service, and outstanding food/drinks!

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at Joso's Toronto to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, EternalAnt36 receives the $200 reward which is credited to EternalAnt36's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Joso's Toronto!
