The primary event contact for our group was Sarah Espaillat.
We were a party of 10 celebrating a friend's milestone birthday. The original time slot offered to us was 6:30pm, which was refused. We did opt, however, for an 8:30pm reservation and was told the show/experience would be from 8:30-10:00pm. Evidently, an invoice was actually emailed with the same 6:30pm reservation that was originally declined. This realization wasn't made until day of, but bear in mind there was a separate, 120-person party happening simultaneously, which was clearly the priority over our smaller party. Considering the reservation was made to include the performance, upon arrival, we were made aware that the show was not happening: a clear miscommunication and frankly, neglect on the part of the coordinator. Okay, so we're here now and must deal. By the time our entire party was seated (at about 9:00pm or so), we began service. From the time of our orders being placed until arrival of food, there was at least an hour in between. Also, many of the dishes came out cold. Some guests requested their dishes to be warmed, as the food was too cool for consumption. And my steak was actually prepared well when I ordered it at medium temperature. Disappointment would be an understatement. In my estimation, the best course of measure would have been to transparently communicate the maxed capacity of the waitstaff and perhaps offer another date or even the option for our group to seek out another venue for the celebration. With my friend, the birthday girl, being satisfied, all mentioned wasn't a dealbreaker for her, since she wasn't fully aware of each hiccup, but for my friend's husband who planned the evening plus a few guests (including myself), the communication and customer service equally lacked in our opinion. One plus was how aesthetically beautiful the space was (which increased my rating from 2 to 3), but unfortunately due to our experience, I am not certain that anyone in the group will return.

Meant to do the "experience," accidentally clicked the wrong thing and had a regular dinner reservation. The front room is spacious and has a comfy, cool vibe. They clearly spent a lot of money on the aesthetic. The menu presented is not what's online and rather limited. You are given a boarding pass, $39 for an appetizer and entree. Not bad for NYC and portion sizes was fine. 4 entree options and 4 starters, and an additional charge for 4 sides. Two of the entrees come with fries. The cocktails were delicious, if only it hadn't taken 20 minutes to get the drinks. Then there was the waiter. Oh the waiter. The waiter explained the "specials" twice, forgetting we'd already asked. When we asked what the pasta was he said pomodoro. We said what kind of pasta, he said pomodoro. No sir, that's the sauce, what kind of pasta. Oh, spaghetti. He then went to check to make sure he was right, came back and explained the two daily specials like he hadn't just told us and like they were something different. Fine spaghetti pomodoro. I decided on steak, he asked what temperature. I said medium. He said medium what, Rare or well? I said just medium. He said there was no such temperature for a steak then dried to describe it in pinkness. My friend and I went back and forth with him on this many times, there were many trips by him to the kitchen. I ordered chicken instead. I asked to substitute the fries, he again went to check. Good new and bad news, I can't substitute the fries because the other sides are bigger in size and don't equate, the good news is that I can have unlimited fries. Why would I want unlimited fries if I don't want fries at all? I said never mind the side just the chicken. I'm leaving out the number of times we talked about the medium steak. I lost my patience because the whole thing was bonkers. The chef came out when I said forget the side. She offered me another side at that point, over an hour in, I thanked her, but declined. It was nice of her to check, wasn't expecting that. I wish the kid had just asked her or the manager instead of legit making things up. The food was good, it had flavor without being too salty. The manager came over at one point, he was very nice and offered us dessert as an apology, we found out it was waiters second day. We knew he had no experience it was obvious but no less crazy having to talk about steak temp for 30+ mins. I've been ordering steak medium for longer than he's been alive. The dessert was beautiful, very good, not overly sweet. I was then surprised that we were charged an automatic 20% gratuity. In no way was I going to stiff the kid, I'm not mean but for the service we got that was very presumptuous. It was a comedy of errors over and over for 2+ hours and while the chef and manager truly tried to improve the experience I doubt I'll go back.
Be the first to ReplySo much potential but seriously food is so so.
Why they can't get a decent cook and let me explain. Food is seriously so so. With the amazing atmosphere and drinks, they can up their game on the food part. Dessert is like something I got from a grocery shop. Fries, burger, swordfish and tuna tartar (kinda hard to eat) are just normal. They don't taste bad but I was a little misled by their ambiance. This place is huge especially the back room by the lounge. You can have 100 people and still got plenty of space. Service is amazing. They are so nice to us and the bartender is very skill in making drink.

I brought my husband here for his birthday and we did the tasting menu. It was underwhelming and kind of corny and touristy. We kept an open mind throughout the entire experience, however, I can't imagine anyone returning to do it again. The food is mediocre, certainly nowhere near Michelin level. The dining room is tight and the projections are not the highest quality so they felt blurry. I would recommend coming for the novelty experience but the food and experience needs to be better for me to return.
Be the first to ReplyHad an amazing experience at Journey Experience.
The food was great and the full immersion experience was incredible. It's a full restaurant in addition to that Journey experience. Great great. Great Vibe. Great service.
Be the first to ReplyCool experience, but way overpriced for the food quality.
The atmosphere in the room is very nice with screens all around and an actor tells you stories. I loved the animations that were projected on the table, and the communal setting. However for $150 per person after taxes and tip on a weekday (!) for a tasting menu, you expect something impeccable and excellent. Every dish except the salad and desert are basically the assembly of 3 or 4 items: a protein, a purée (not kidding) and something else to go along. I wonder if the weekend menu is different / better? The salad was good but really nothing special. The tuna tartare bite on cucumber was good. The first warm dish (Octopus and lentil purée) had been sitting on a plate for too long, and the purée started solidifying on the outside (how is this even acceptable?). The octopus was deliciously cooked. The second warm dish was sea bass, the fish was slightly over cooked but the edamame purée was delicious with a hint of spicyness. It also came with pineapple and watermelon. The third warm dish was a joke: a tiny way over cooked piece of short ribs (not tender at all) on top of polenta with some cherry tomatoes and swimming in beef juice. This could have been served at a high school restaurant. The reveal was really cool though with a glass top and smoke trapped inside. Desert was ok but a bit dry, nothing special to note. To ownership and kitchen staff, please do better. You know that this is sub par.

As a born and raised New Yorker whose eaten at nearly every restaurant in NY and around the world, this is the worst concept of a restaurant to ever open in NYC and a complete waste of money. The food is disgusting, the price for a dinner experience is way too high, the entire experience is extremely cheesy, the screens aren't even in high Rez, the staff is absolutely terrible and incompetent, they remind me of Applebees staff, I cannot express what a waste of money this is, and I know they had to put a lot of money into this place, but people who've never worked in hospitality a day in their life keep opening restaurants and "experiences" and have no idea wtf they're doing.
Be the first to ReplyAverage food, average experience, average ambiance.
The food was nothing special and overpriced. They had extremely hokey "special effects" that looked like they were created in 1999 and never updated again. The storyline was made for a 5yr old and I felt cringe sitting there listening it. Do not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for my sisters birthday and had higher
Came here for my sisters birthday and had higher expectations, especially with the price it was... If you must... I suggest eating before coming here or just not coming with an empty stomach. We had a party of 4 and really weren't near full after this. There were a few cool things, like the interactive drawings (scan QR code, draw on the phone and send it to the wall), and the way they projected moving things on the table. However, the rest of the "experience" was mediocre and not much interactive stuff. If you have a small party for 2-4, you'll be sharing the experience/table with other guest (that was fine for us) but the host who was explaining the journey was mostly paying attention to the group up front. I was also expecting the food to be better but most of it was kind of bland and very small portions. The menu is preset but you can ask for substitutions. We had some kind of tuna tartar when we sat down which was decent, then a salad which was nothing really special, followed by octopus (this was better than most other dishes we had and texture was decent), miso glazed seabass (best one out of all the dishes but the portion was so small - I could've eaten 4-5 of these), braised short rib (VERY dry and bland) then a cheesecake (the passionfruit flavor on it was good but the cheesecake itself was just okay). One thing to note, we noticed there was one girl in the other groups that didn't eat beef so they substituted the short rib for scallop -- which would be my suggestion had I known the short rib would be that dry. They did give us free moscato because it was a birthday celebration but the moscato was not sweet and none of us liked it (and I'm mostly a moscato drinker). We did end up going to another restaurant after and having a bit of food and dessert so honestly I don't think I'd come back. Edit to add: some of the other reviews and photos show better looking food/plating for the experience... and a bit larger portions... more than what we got. Between the 4 in my party, one person got a much smaller portion of short rib as well so that also needs some work.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly, the only reason this place came into my knowledge
Honestly, the only reason this place came into my knowledge was because it was mentioned in another app and it was in the area while I was waiting for something else. It was a walk in and not a reservation. I did get a tour of the restaurant and an explanation of the different rooms and experiences including the Journey360 virtual experience plus performances. I appreciated the overview to familiarize myself with the options. But because it was a Sunday and I was by myself, I opted for a simple a la carte. The restaurant was empty and I had a table next to the window.I ordered the bone marrow starter with country bread, quindilla chimichurri and horseradish pana cotta and a black cod main with miso, broccoli rabe and kaffir like glaze. I l love bone marrow and part of the reason I decided to go there was to try it. However, the dish to me was more focused on the horseradish pana cotta. There were hints of bone marrow but not as much as I would prefer. I enjoyed the black cod and a main entree. Overall, the presentation was great overall though on the smaller side. There was some confusion and I got charged for and received the polenta and mushroom duxelles as a side as well. Because I ate some, unknowingly, I didn't push back at the time. But it wasn't a side I would personally choose and it surely wasn't my preference after trying it. But I know people who would love to eat that. I did have a cocktail that I was generally fine with. Overall, I'm not itching to go back. If by chance I had to go again, I would try different plates.

The whole experience was great! I know there are mixed reviews but speaking honestly about mine... everyone was super kind and accommodating.I bought the Journey360 experience for my boyfriend's birthday. I also made a separate reservation earlier to sit at the bar and grab drinks before. They grabbed our coats for free coat check and when we were drinking at the bar, I was worried that we would miss our experience but they came and got us.The experience: Journey360 is a separate, non-refundable event that is a timed, pre set menu and once you are late then there is nothing you can do. I respect that because it's all times perfectly. So don't come late :)Online when purchasing the dinner experience, it asks if you want to add a wine pairing. I opted out because my bf and I don't drink wine often so I can't speak to the selection, but I recommend opting out and they also ask you when you arrive if you would like to add... so no stress. They are very accommodating with allergies but really need to know ahead of time. Many of the guests around us requested changes online and they were happy.I wouldn't say it is the most amazing experience given the price point and somewhat small portions but I will say it was fun and worth doing once regardless and definitely well executed from start to finish.SIDE WARNING: I sometimes get vertigo and I was worried if this would be triggered cuz every thing around you is moving the whole dinner, but I didn't feel anything. So something to think about if this is you!
Be the first to ReplyTook my boyfriend to the journey 360 for his birthday.
The food was so tasty and the experience was really unique and he was really happy. It flew by way too quickly! The only pointer to keep in mind is not to go in starving, because the portions are on the smaller side. Also a lot of the wines in the pairing are white wines. It was super fun and felt like I was in a movie. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyMy girlfriend and I had a table for 2 at the Journey
My girlfriend and I had a table for 2 at the Journey Odyssey recently and my goodness what a let down. Here are the main points:1) Service - Terrible. We show up 20 minutes early, and are told we have time to grab drinks at the bar. They end up completely forgetting about us and I end up going back to the front desk to ask if it's time to be seated yet. Turns out, we were the last ones to be seated for our showing and nearly miss the first course even though we were there earliest. Additionally, one of the waiters smelled like he hadn't taken a shower in days and had a bandaged hand, absolutely disgusting.2) Food - Stunningly mediocre. While nothing objectively bad, for $175 a person(pre-tax/tip), one simply expects something a little bit more than the plain Jane 5-course menu. Also, in case you like to be surprised as to where the menu might take you next, you won't be, the entire menu is placed on the table before you get there. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, you're so rushed from one course to the next, that you barely have 5 minutes to eat each course.3) Wine - We both did the wine pairing. The layer cake Malbec is served with the Argentina course; I can purchase this at Whole Foods for $13. The wine pairings consist of cheap grocery store selections.4) The "Gimmick" - The whole "presentation" is just so painfully executed. The ingenuity factor of having vignettes and projections on your table/plate wears off after about a minute. The whole dinner is rushed so that you can progress from one excrutiatingly unfunny clip to the next while an actor dressed as a chef ("Sam") prances around the room telling bad jokes in between. The quality/resolution of the technology is also so poor, that you'd think it was installed during the early 2000's.My total bill for 2 came out to $640. When I booked, it sounded like an innovative concept (and could still be), with few reviews online. Please don't fall into this trap like I did. This is New York, this place shouldn't even make your list of options.

Had a horrible experience ! I booked a reservation and was not accommodated properly - they were extremely rude and one of the ladies even raised her voice. Will probably check out a diff location that does something similar because the treatment was just horrible .
Be the first to ReplyI don't typically write reviews but this business mislead
I don't typically write reviews but this business mislead us on open table with our reservation. We specifically wanted the 360 virtual experience and we booked it online. They even called to confirm three times and said "we are making it an extra special event for Valentine's Day". They mentioned that it will be a 5 course prefixed menu and asked if we'd be okay with it and we confirmed yes. Then we arrive on time to the reservation, no one was there it was completely empty. And they said our reservation was for the regular dinning Al a carte. They called us three times to confirm that we'd eat Al a carte? Then the manager said they couldn't fit us in the show and we were furious. It was Valentine's Day.... so we left and they didn't even care. Terrible experience, don't recommend booking online.
Be the first to ReplyThis new restaurant offers immersive dining experience.
There are 2 dining experiences to choose from (Journey 360 and Odyssey). Both experiences are $175 per person (with $75 wine pairing option)I and my husband chose to try "Journey 360." The experience combines immersive video installations and fine dining together. We arrived at the restaurant early, we were told to wait at their beautiful lounge. There's only 1 show daily at this time (6.30pm). When it's time, we were escorted to the dining room called "360 room." In this room, you will be seated at the communal table surrounded by 360-degree projections. The cute part is that there will be your name projected on the table.Once everyone was seated (there're 20 seats in total), the host started narrating. The first theme was rain forest. Then, under the sea, the Arctic, volcano and the last theme was space. The prix fixe courses were served to correspond with each theme. Honestly, we initially thought we were there for just the cool and unique experience. We didn't expect the food at this fancy-setting restaurant to be good BUT it turned out that their food was amazing especially 2 fish dishes. Both black cod and king salmon were perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. We enjoyed their food so much and the beautiful VR scenery made the meal more pleasant. Speaking of the price, it's worth the experience! It's perfect for date night or special occasions. We've had several Michelin-starred meals that we enjoyed less than this one. FYI, if you are not into the experiences, they also have main dining area where they serve food and drink (a la carte ) without VR experiences. I would recommend this restaurant especially the Journey 360 experience!
