Run away
There were 3 of us, my wife, my daughter and me. We ordered an appetizer - chicken soup, meat soup, hummus and falafel: the chicken soup was reasonable and good, meat soup - full of spices, mainly cumin, so much so that you could not distinguish the taste of the soup, the hummus was reasonable, but the pitas were heated in the microwave instead of on the grill, so they were sticky and almost inedible Main dish: My wife ordered a schiff salad - it was good. My daughter and I ordered filet mignon with mushrooms. We both didn't eat the filet because it was full of fat, when we complained to the waiter, the answer was sorry that's all there is. The chips were wet and not crispy, probably fried twice and absorbed a lot of oil. At the end of the meal [if you can call it that] the shift manager came to find out why we didn't eat. After a detailed explanation he looked at us in amazement saying, sorry we don't have filet mignon we mistakenly gave you an old menu!!!! it's joke. In light of this, he gave us a discount of 40 dollars and charged us 202 dollars - 200 dollars more than the value of the meal.
Be the first to ReplyGood, not great
Kasbah is a kosher meat restaurant at the upper west side. The service is nice and efficient, the food is good. However, I was a bit disappointed with my burger, bc the only sauce was regular ketchup. No alcohol is served. You can bring your own wine, it has to be kosher mevushal.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing!
Disappointing!! Families visiting us from Florida.Bad service waiting for 2 and half hour and food served cold as hell. Forget these place , no air condition, just a ceiling fan. Do not waste your hard earned dollar here guys.
Be the first to ReplyWould go again but would only order the items I listed as the hits
The service is very nice, friendly and fast. The place is clean. It was easy to make a reservation for a large group. The menu has a lot of fun choices. They also make sure to bring the kids food out fast, which is nice. Unfortunately the execution isnโt great for all choices. The matzah ball soup has a great ball but the broth is salty and lacks much chicken. The pastrami is a definite no with weak and thin rye bread and a fatty thin pastrami. Hot dogs are good. Fries are amazing. Chicken tenders were overdone. Kids didnโt like the rice. The onion rings were overdone but the kids liked them. Moroccan cigars were ok but not done in a traditional way, more like a Jamaican beef patty. The hits at the table were the beef ribs, the schnitzel, and the falafel salad.
Be the first to ReplyReliable, warm, and tasty
This is a tried and true spot for our family for steaks and burgers. It is clean, the service is reliable, and the food is consistent. The ambiance is warm and nice, without being pretentious. Would recommend.
Be the first to Replybad service bad food
I dont know was worse the service or the food. We waited over 40 minutes to be served. Had to ask twice for another glass and the food was so overdone ( the roast beef the turkey and the hamburgers ) that it was almost inedible . The pickels were good hmmmm
Be the first to ReplyWE MADE A RESERVATION AND THEY WERE CLOSED
We made a reservation for Thursday, February 16 for 13 people to celebrate an engagement. We were very surprised to all show up to Kasbah Grill to be CLOSED. We were not the only people who had shown up with a reservation. They did not call us or email us to tell us they would not be opened. Needless to say we will never be returning to this restaurant as they let us make a reservation and then did not even have the decency to tell us that they would be closed. We are very disappointed at the lack of service or respect afforded to us when we made reservations for a post engagement dinner with the entire family.
Be the first to Replythe best dinner we had in a while
we dont usually go to "kosher Restaurants" but we saw the good reviews about kasbah grill and that its been around for super long in the city (which is not so usual now days) so we gave it a try and their steaks are with no doubt one of the best steaks we ever had and the kids loved their chicken nuggets which were perfect. very recommended and very good for kids as well
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
We arrived, having made a reservation. They had no record of this though we had received a confirmation. Then despite plenty of empty tables, they took ages trying to decide where to seat us, shifting tables only to then sit us at a table that had been available the whole time. They brought a carafe of water, a plate of oversweet coleslaw and pickles immediately but did not offer us any other beverages. The bbq chicken wings were tasty but the buffalo wings had a vile fizzy coating. The Argentinian steaks were excellent and came to the table still sizzling accompanied by flavoursome beans that were not overcooked. The accompanying fries were crisp And well-cooked but the accompanying grilled vegetables were slopping in juice. The waiter cleared our table and then proceeded to ignore us for quite awhile which given that the restaurant now only had 2 other occupied tables was surprising. Eventually we were asked if we wanted anything else - I had to ask what else was on offer. The waiter recited the dessert menu as if it was a mantra for falling asleep- he gave the impression that he hoped we wouldnโt choose anything. We ordered Peppermint tea and received
Hot water, teabags and over-sized teaspoons.
Disinterested service and mediocre food. Donโt come here for a relaxing evening, a special occasion or even a not so special occasion.
Great food
Great kosher restaurant. Food is really tasty. We had the beef kebabs, burger and sushi and the food was really good. Staff are friendly.
Be the first to ReplyRib eye steak is a must!
We are always looking for the restaurant that is local and not frequented by the tourists. Kasbah fits the bill. Walk in and if you're a Gentile you may wonder if you're in the right place. No worries! Kasbah has food selections for almost everyone. But the rib eye steak is fabulous. Medium- rare perfection with house made steak sauce, fresh grilled vegetables, and if you're a onion ring lover you'll definitely want to order a basket. Bring your own wine - kosher and "mevushal." There's a wine store just around the corner. Did I mention the steak?
Be the first to ReplyGreat food & Great time
I took my wife out for motherโs day and I wanted to go I havenโt been in a while. So I took her to Kasbah formerly known as Deli Kasbah same owner just shorter name.
I was not disappointed, in fact I was quite surprised at how much better it has become, the food was prepared to perfection, presentation was pleasant to the eye, and the taste was to the trained palette very well-seasoned, not overly spiced, the ambience was quit cheerful, and the wait staff very professional, with quick services and a great attitude. All in all a real treat in New York were everybody is in such a rush to find a place where one can stop for a bite and a breath of fresh air (the friendly ness). It makes all the difference.
A reliably excellent experience
When eating regularly in a neighborhood restaurant, consistency is vitally important.
Deli Kasbah never disappoints. The steaks are great, as are all the different types of hamburgers. Be adventurous; try different dishes before settling on your favorite.
Great Dinner Place for Casual Meal
Brought our whole family here for dinner on our last trip to NY. Food was excellent! Atmosphere is crowded and a bit noisy but worth is for the great food. Everyone in our party practically licked their plates clean.
Be the first to ReplyGood Kosher Steakhouse
This is a mid-range family restaurant definitely built for the religious Jewish world. It is Chabad in orientation, complete with videos of the Rebbe playing on the televisions 24/7. The food is standard grill, but reliable and very tasty.

Canโt go wrong hereโฆ Do you like meat? Do you like chicken? Do you like french fries?โฆ And you could actually get a nice salad as wellโฆ
Be the first to ReplyBring kosher wine!
We absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was phenomenal and worth every penny, and the atmosphere was terrific. But beware -- you are permitted to bring your own bottle of wine, but it needs to be kosher. We stupidly did not think about this and were unable to drink the bottle we brought. But that was our fault, not theirs. We both loved our steaks as well as the cigar appetizers. They also bring a nice cole slaw and pickles to every table. Highly recommend this place if you're in the Upper West Side!
