Great service
Nice spot for intimate sushi dinner. Friendly and fast waitstaff, fresh sushi. Dark interior with clubby music which we enjoyed but may not be for everyone. We would go back.
Be the first to ReplyArrogant manager!
The manager is rude, she was impatient and arrogant, she doesn’t know how to be nice with people. It is sad because the food is good.
Be the first to ReplyGreat, but....
Great place, excellent Sushi and veggies - possibly the best eggplant I ever had, with the most excellent service and a great vibe. However, in their price range, they should devote a little more love to the bathrooms - and sadly, the wagyu was waaay too salty and overcooked - a no-go at $75. I will surely go again, and maybe they will improve and get five stars. They certainly have the potential for it, even by my high standards.

Just finished dinner at Katana LA, and what a treat! Incredible sushi...sets a benchmark to which all others can be compared. As good if not better than Nobu. Also enjoyed incredible steak and side of asparagus, great drinks. Service was fast and friendly. Fantastic Sunset Blvd ambiance, dining in style with the beautiful people. Loved it!

We were seated on the big terrace overlooking Sunset boulevard. The place serves great sushi and great cocktails. Staff is friendly and swift. Good place for a dinner with colleagues or group of friends.
Be the first to ReplyBest sushi I’ve ever had
The service and ambiance was spectacular! I tried my first sashimi here and to celebrate they gave me the most delicious surprise desert. 100% recommend to anyone looking for an amazing night out

Looks nothing from the outside but what a place, very warm terrace but we sat inside, food was delicious and the DJ played great tunes , only criticism I would have , felt very rushed in and out within a hour

Had the premium chef’s choice (Omakase kind of meal). OMG! Every flavor in each dish was to die for! I highly recommend it. The service was outstanding: kind and fun waitress and the drinks were delivered promptly. By far, one of the most amazing meals I’ve had in a while. I’ve had Omakase in NYC, HI and in other cities in CA and this experience was comparable to NYC or HI.

Katana is in the heart of West Hollywood. As you are probably thinking, it’s just another bougie Los Angeles restaurant, you aren’t wrong. However, every dish for was worth the salivation in my mouth and every plate was made clean by the chopsticks that were held by me. My boyfriend and I were having date night, which we don’t have often but this was a delayed valentine’s dinner. We started off with garlic edamame and seaweed salad that goes under another name on the menu. The two starters were delicious and well received by both of stomachs. We then went on to order skewers. I ordered the Brussel sprouts and the chicken meatballs while my boyfriend ordered shrimp and salmon skewers. Those were also delicious. Our final and best part of the dinner were the rolls we ordered! We ordered the Katana to share and then we each ordered 1 additional roll. I had the spider and my boyfriend ordered the Tsukiji one. If we could lick the plate clean we would have but I’d say that there was not a morsel left on it. Our server was consistently on top of it. She was checking in to see if we needed anything and was patient and we took breaks in between each course. If our water was below a certain point, someone came over to fill it back to the top. Her recommendations always aired towards the most expensive but when I asked about two options that I really liked or my boyfriend’s preferences, she knew what she was talking about and her comments were well received. As our meal was winding down, one of the managers of the restaurant came over to make small talk. Asking us how we found the restaurant, the service, and where we are from. Since it is it located in the heart of West Hollywood, plenty of tourists come to this spot. He was very kind and genuine. We took a rest and then discussed if we were up for desert. I was in the mood for something green tea but we got something even better. Since it was our first time dining at this restaurant and the small conversation we had with the a manager, our waitress came by saying that our desert was on the house. We were very appreciative and found they change their desert menu daily. We decided to go with the volcano. Now, if you are a chocolate lover and have itwhen you are there, I highly recommend it. It is chocolate cake with warm oozy chocolate on the inside with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was another plate was made clean. This meal is one that I will think of for a while and hope to return again soon. Whatever it is you get at this restaurant, you will not be disappointed by any means. Happy eating!
Be the first to ReplyHorrible service and management. Look elsewhere.
We had to wait over 30 mins for a table for two to be ready past our reservation time - which they told us had a $70 cancellation fee per person - which would indicate that each table should be guaranteed, on time. They overbooked the restaurant for valentines dinner and expected people to wait around or hangout at the overcrowded bar. The place was packed and had no spare seats anywhere - we stood outside waiting for our table to be ready. This place is badly managed - the food is good but if you want to impress a date with great service and hospitality, go somewhere else. I got the impression that people just checked in an instead of having a table reserved you're essentially waiting in line on a first come first serve basis, even though you're paying your $70 per head to guarantee your booking. I don't think it's a good business practice to force customers to guarantee the booking but not reciprocate. The bar was full and you couldn't even get a drink if you wanted. Management should get fired for putting profits over hospitality. Just my 2c as a discerning patron of high end establishments, but we were definitely not the only guests who were annoyed, especially on Valentine’s Day. Picture is of all the angry guests waiting in line.
Be the first to ReplyReasonable service, bad chefs
Tuna sashimi had a line running through it so not exactly melt in the mouth.
Crazily, wagyu steak was served well done and chewy.
Martini was good but served with a twist of lemon instead of requested olives.
Couldn't trust the chefs after that and left.
Annoying as I went on strength of trip advisor reviews.
Cool, boujee vibe
As a tourist from the East coast, this is the type of place you envision for a cool, trendy restaurant in Cali on the Sunset strip! Beautiful restaurant with a perfect view of the strip. The sushi was amazing and so creatively presented. Drinks were strong and service was great! I felt so cool dining here! Loved it!

Great restaurant hidden away on sunset. Wide menu but the tasting menu is great value. Good service, good flexibility, value for money wines too. Don't miss this
