Authentic hand rolls, friendly chefs, bar seating only
Authentic hand rolls, friendly chefs, bar seating only which creates a cue at the door that often extends outside. Very fresh and delicious so extremely popular with locals and visitors on the Bay. The is a quick bite restaurant not a dining experience. Perfect for on the go solo dining or catch up spot. No privacy, think of this is a social hour local. Would return and recommend.

I've come here twice now and have enjoyed the food and ambiance both times. I usually get the 6-Hand Roll Combo since it is cheaper to get the combo vs. ordering each one individually. This also allows me to have a variety of hand rolls. The nori seaweed is crispy, the rice nice and warm, and the fish/seafood inside is fresh. I like how they don't doctor up the filling too much. I actually am able to taste the fish/seafood vs. other places that add so much mayo or sauces or other flavors that I can't even taste the fish/seafood. The 6-Hand Roll combo gets me pretty full since there's plenty of rice and filling inside each hand roll. I luckily haven't had to wait very long to eat here (party of two usually). I came on Tuesday and a Wednesday between 4:30 and 5, and had to wait maybe 5-15 minutes.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect box to go.
Everything's laid out meticulously. Got this set right before my flight and was the right amount. The scenery is adjacent to a docking sight so it would be a great place for a date!
Be the first to ReplyService was great.
Got a nice seat at the bar without having to wait. Usually there is always a line so was lucky I just missed the lunch crowd. Server explained the hand rolls, specials and recommendations. I really enjoyed the toro, salmon and yellowtail. I also got the albacore sashimi which had this really yummy sauce on it. The prices were very fair and its a no tipping establishment. I believe they add a 16% service charge. Will be back again soon.

2nd time here at this location and multiple times back at a Kazunori! Expect to wait about 30 mins to an hour. The line may look daunting but it moves at a decent pace. Ordered the 6 roll set for $28, which came with toro, salmon, yellowtail, bay scallops, crab, and lobster. I also ordered an extra sea bream hand roll for $5.75. My favorite rolls have to be the scallops, crab, and lobster! Just packed with so much flavor! A few criticisms from this visit, I loved the toro, but fish was a little skimpy. The sea bream and yellowtail was lacking flavor, sea bream came out really cold, once I let it sit a little, can start tasting the fish. There is also a $12.00 service charge fee. Overall still my favorite hand roll place! Even with a few inconsistencies, I'm always left satisfied!

I love Kazunori and feel lucky to live walking distance to this one. I came at lunch time and there was no wait at all. Food was excellent as usual, up to par with other locations. The seats are a little close together but I suppose that's part of the experience. The view is unbeatable.
Be the first to ReplyGreat quick style sushi hand roll place.
Had to wait in line about 45 minutes which I don't mind but it would have been nice to have been able to order a drink while waiting alcoholic or non even. Not able to until we were seated. The food was really good. Service was also good. But 4 stars as would have been better if drinks offered to purchase while in line. Love the simplicity of the menu.

Came here for an early dinner around 6ish on a friday night to avoid a long wait and we only waited about 10 min! there's no waitlist, you just get in line. i got the 4 set roll and an albacore roll on the side and was full, super tasty! Can't wait to come back!
Be the first to ReplyLove their speed of service and new style sushi experience.
Food is ok but it's so quick and it does feel like it's a sushi course.
Be the first to ReplyFresh nori wraps filled with warm, perfectly prepared sushi
Fresh nori wraps filled with warm, perfectly prepared sushi rice with chilled fresh fish -- they melt in your mouth. My first time at KazuNori won't be my last. No reservations and limited seating means you should be prepared to wait for a space. It's all sushi bar seating elbow to elbow. Good thing these hand rolls go down fast... it keeps the crowd moving at an efficient but not hurried pace.

I came just after the major lunch rush and got a seat for 1 right way. I didn't really know what to expect before I got there, but was greeted by the friendly server behind the bar who explained the menu to me. It's a cozy spot with all seats at the bar and they serve your rolls on the paper placemat. I had all hand rolls (6 to be exact) but started with the 4 rolls package. I added the toro and yellow tail just because they were so delicious, I needed more. I was too full but it was worth it. I can't wait to go back here. I haven't stopped thinking about it since I left. I wish there was a location closer to me. It was 5/5 stars for me.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding.
Truly. Loved this place. Service, food, environment - all of it. Sit at the sushi bar if you can
Be the first to ReplyThe line was around 40 minutes on a Friday night at 7:30 PM.
Luckily, there is a parking lot that is a bit small and get get filled quickly, but it is free (turnstiles were raised up all night). Highly recommend wearing a jacket and pants because it is super windy and chilly by the restaurant and there is a big chance you will be waiting outside for at least 20-30 minutes. Got the six hand roll set and subbed the crab for sea bream (every time I've gotten the crab hand roll from Sugarfish or KazuNori I always encounter some sliver of shell or casing I need to remove from my mouth so I avoid the crab hand roll now) - from what I remember, you are able to sub any rolls in the set for any other roll besides the eel, lobster, and crab. Favorite rolls: bay scallop (creamy and buttery with some mayo); toro (so delicious and fatty - highly recommend subbing any roll of your choice with another toro because it's that good); and yellowtail (contains lots of green onions!). So you can technically get six toro hand rolls if you truly desire it. :) Service was succinct and helpful, all the staff were friendly. Bathrooms were clean (there is a spotlight on the toilet in each bathroom stall so you can see EVERYTHING that's visible to the naked eye when you walk in); and the bathrooms are shared with UOVO next door.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, bad lines.
Showing up to 30 minute waits 5 minutes after open just go to sugarfish
Be the first to ReplyKazunori serves some very fresh sushi rolls.
With my first time here and they serve it one roll at a time so the right is hot and everything is fresh. The seaweed they wrap it in is very good and easy to chew through. It has great VIEW of the marina, which is quite cool. The main problem is the limited number of seats. hopefully you find it at a slower time so you don't have a long wait.

Very good! As someone who is from Hawaii and has visited Japan multiple times, I would definitely recommend this place. They understand the simple concept of how sushi should be fish and rice. The fish quality needs to speak for itself and this place does that perfectly. Every time I go there's always a line so I recommend to go during very unpopular hours if you hate waiting. However, the line and popularity is well earned. Only thing I have to say is that this place is a bit pricey for the hand roll but in my opinion the price is not absurd.
Be the first to ReplySince there are no reservations, we came after the lunch
Since there are no reservations, we came after the lunch crowd. Seated quickly. Their nori is fresh and fragrant. Delicious! Will be back. One thing to note is you will be sitting at a counter on stools. My friend, who has a bad back, found it hard to sit there, but loved the food and service!

Kazunori might be worth a visit if you're in the mood for scenic views and decent hand-rolls. It's located right by the water with a picturesque view of boats lazily drifting; the ambiance was charming. I came here for dinner with a friend, and we were greeted by a line snaking its way outside the restaurant. The no-reservation policy and exclusive bar seating meant we had to wait about an hour before getting seated. Once inside, the service was a solid 7/10. As for the food, we opted for two of their set menus. The hand rolls were fresh and flavorful, though not necessarily mind-blowing. The pricing was reasonable, with each of us spending around $30. However, you might need to order a substantial amount to feel fully satisfied. Kazunori offers a unique dining experience with its hand-roll-focused menu and waterfront setting. However, considering plenty of other sushi spots offer similar fare without the lengthy wait, I'm still determining if it's worth the anticipation.

Ended up getting takeout because the line to dine in was a little over 40 mins wait. The restaurant is small chef table counter style. Looked perfect for a after work meet up, first date or sushi w a girlfriend. Take out took 20min or less. I ordered the pre made box $25 w Salmon Sashimi plus a 1/2 shrimp roll. High quality sushi forsure a decent price point. Can't wait to dine in next time. What we ordered was enough for two people we were so full.
Be the first to ReplySuper busy location so expect a long wait.
I was never a huge fan of KazuNori. Quality ingredients, average taste, underseasoned rice and too soft (for my preference), and decent pricey. The extra mandatory "fee" is very sneaky and rubbed us the wrong way.
Be the first to ReplyThe food and service is excellent, clockwork.
Always consistent and always busy. Get there early for lunch or off hours. Brown rice options would be appreciated but I realize it isn't authentic.
Be the first to ReplyWaaay better than overpriced overhyped SUGARFISH.
They keep the quality but they give you so much as well especially since it's mainly handrolls. Your money goes a long way with this restaurant. They serve sashimi as well but for me it was way more flavorful than SF. KazuNori stays with consistency and the crowd is always enjoyable. Nobody stuck up or rude it's just always chill in there. The wait time is nowhere near that of SF. You get in, eat and leave. While also enjoying the bustling activity of the restaurant. It's fun it's easy to order food, comes out super fast, and like I mentioned before the quality is superb. Plus your actually by the Marina. Great view and vibe.

I ordered the 4 Hand Roll set with Toro, Yellowtail, Salmon, and Crab. The quality is top-notch. The chefs serve you the rolls one at a time, so the seaweed is still crunchy and fresh and the rice is still warm. The Toro was my favorite. The line moves fast and people are served quickly. The staff were nice and friendly. Noted in a lot of other reviews but there is a 16% gratuity added to the bill with no tipping. Also, the location is great, right on the water. Nice view of the beach and parking is free unlike some of the other locations.

My new favorite hand roll bar! Fast service & all their handrolls are fresh & delicious. I ordered the 6-handroll set (toro, yellowtail, salmon, bay scallop, crab & lobster) and the daily special (ankimo). Loved every one of them! I recommend coming here early & lining up once they open since it does get pretty packed!
