Best Indian Food in Wellington
Best Indian food I've had in Wellington, which is strong in Indian cuisine. Check out the KLC Special Combos. I had the Kappa (cassava) and Fish Curry. The spices are vibrant. A particular favourite: onion bhaji. Most dishes are medium to hot--ask what to order if you want mild. The Chilly Chicken (not chili!) is mild and good. Our party of five loved all the food. The husband/wife owners are busy cooking your food, so table service doesn't match the food level. If diners flock here, they'll be able to hire wait staff.

So delicious, nice and casual, friendly and great service. My new favourite Wellington dinner place. I really enjoyed the Kerala lamb.

The food here is top notch. I have come here to eat many times and never been disappointed. My favourite dishes include Mysore masala dosa, Panneer dosa and Kotthu parotta. The owner has a smiling face and always checks to make sure you are enjoying your meal. Very quiet and a tidy place. Highly recommend if you are craving for typical South Indian delicacies (there are many other Indian restaurants serving only North Indian cuisines but this one serves South Indian food too).

We arrived really early but were not kept waiting for long. We all three ordered dhosa and were served the BIGGEST dhosa you've ever seen. Dhosas are light on the stomach and tasty. The waiter was clearly delighted that we liked them so much. That said, they had "run out" of biriyani, which was disappointing for some of us. Good value for money.

We had their special lunch on Sundays beautiful food and fantastic service. Ideal for vegetarians and highly recommend their Sunday special. Anuras and Veena's service and hospitality is second to none. Chef Sajith is one of the most talented chefs we know and his Kerala dishes are truly authentic

Tucked away on Courteney Place is this gem. Amazing food, reasonably priced, generously proportioned. Our table were astonished at how quiet it was. Very well kept and tidy. Hard to find a fault.
Be the first to ReplyA welcome evening meal out at Kera-la-carte, Wellington NZ
Kera-la-carte was closed for some months but evidently re-opened late last year with new owners, this was our first visit since then. It now has a welcoming family-run atmosphere, attentive staff and excellent cuisine at moderate prices. Very pleased to see it back in action. Definitely worth a first or return visit for fans of South Indian cooking.

Very disappointed. My chicken had leg meat not all breast, also had a bone in a piece too. No alcohol too, we are not serving it was the reply. Was shouted at across the floor"You ready`then took another 5 minutes to come back. Table next to us was dirty for ages. When we went to pay we said we had an entertainment book voucher. We are not accepting those. We are new owners and we have a note on the door and our Facebook page. I would not go on Facebook to check out an eating establishment and the sign at the entrance neither of us saw, small and colour matched the door. I appreciate they are new owners but please, communicate with the customers. That is all we ask. No honouring of discount and no alcohol on a date night out with the wife. Not acceptable I'm afraid. A bone in my food is also not acceptable too. Sorry new owners you have a lot to learn on your journey of business ownership, good luck. a
