I LOVED coming to LAVO Ristorante.
I was in town for work and my hotel was nearby so stopped by and host graciously took my name and showed me to table. The ambiance of this place is sooooo damn cute and intimate makes for a perfect date night or just a night out. They play cute 90's music which juxtaposes the decor which sets a nice fun chic tone. The food was delicious. My waiter Johnathan was super helpful and gave some amazing recommendations. I got a ravioli dish that made me want to slap someone it was good. It was Spinach, ricotta filled with a butter garlic sauce, calamari and then dessert with ricotta doughnuts and cookies and cream gelato and a latte. I can not wait to come back and try more. If you're looking for a spot this is it.

I went here for Sunday brunch and the service and food were excellent. The ambiance is really nice and they even had some like music. Beautiful location and place! I'll definitely come back here and do dinner. Lots of options and everything looks so good! Loved it... the decor was peaceful.

Be the first to ReplyThe best Caesar salad you will find.
Dressing is great and croutons are so fresh. Unfortunately it was the only good thing we got. The margarita pizza came out nice and hot but the sauce was flavorless. The salmon very bland , fishy and it didn't look appetizing when it came out. However , ambiance is upscale and very nice and the booths are very comfortable. Waitress was really nice too.

Manager and waiters very unprofessional. I better go spend my money somewhere else where they value their guests.

I came here to try out their prix-fix brunch, and I left stuffed and happy. During the day, this place takes on a much different atmosphere, where patrons dressed Much more casually than they would during the evening hours, and there were also more children than I'd normally see (during this visit, they were here for someone's birthday). For the first course, I went with something off the Sfogliatelle cart (one butter/one chocolate croissant) and a fresh juice (I think it was orange or pineapple; regardless it was good). As for the main, I went with the Prime Burger w/ truffle fries. This was one hell of a good burger, not something I was expecting from an Italian place quite frankly. Prepared just to my liking, I savored the heck out of this thing. The fries were something I was looking forward to and although they were decent, I was craving more out of the burger. I did request the calabrian chili passata on the side and this wasn't too bad, but I don't think I'd want the food saturated with it. As for the third course, I ended up taking the dessert to go (bombolinis) and passed them off to my co-workers. Well, they didn't eat them so the following day, I helped myself and they were absolutely delicious. I wasn't too keen on this initially but knew I had to order something as the third for the prix fixe. No regrets here. Staff was also on it the best they could be; I found out later they were actually from The Fleur Room, and were covering since there were a lot of no-shows. For the most part, I would have never picked up on this. The only minor questionable thing was when I asked for lemons; he simply set them on the bar, minus a napkin, toothpicks, or anything to set them off of the surface which I found odd, but it wasn't a life or death situation, just not something I would expect from this caliber of a restaurant. Okay, I returned within a month and finally enjoyed the penne alla vodka which lived up to the hype. Due to the fact I have zero restraint when it comes to good food, I also repeated the bombolinis. I'll be damned if I say they weren't better the following day, and without the accommodating Oreo Frappuccino but I'm going to finish them anyway. Can't wait to return for another favorite! (I still wish they would offer the garlic bread as a half-portion since either I'm solo, or the people I'm with won't eat bread, God forbid). Their happy hour-if they still offer this-would be a great time to offer such a thing...)

First of all, I can appreciate when we can pull up to a restaurant and valet parking is available. Great idea as parking in West Hollywood can be challenging. My boyfriend made reservations for our monthly date night at LAVO, a restaurant I had bookmarked for quite some time. I was glad that we finally made it. We were greeted by the host and seated within minutes. I loved the whole vibe and aesthetic of LAVO. The place felt intimate even though it was a busy Friday night. Our waitress was very respectful and checked on us frequently. The DJ was playing old-school hip-hop and R&B; I was enjoying the music. To start we had the yellowfin tuna tartare- delicious started. We also ordered the sesame garlic bread-so soft and buttery. For our main course, we had "the meatball"- which is the 1lb wagyu meatball- this dish is a must! The meat was exquisite. Lastly, we had the scallops alla puttanesca. For drinks, I had the Lavo-lini, it had a nice presentation. My boyfriend ordered an old fashioned. This place is great for a date night or a girl's night out.
Be the first to ReplyWe went here for a birthday dinner.
Overall, it was great! The food was incredible, and the ambience was fun. It was packed, but we could still talk to and hear each other without issue. The only unfortunate part was we ordered the popular chocolate/peanut butter cake and there was a hair in it.
Be the first to ReplyMuch like all other restaurants in the TAO restaurant
Much like all other restaurants in the TAO restaurant group, LAVO is a vibrant & very lively atmosphere with a beautiful ambiance! Dishes were pretty good and light. Service was great. We ordered the SEMOLINA SESAME GARLIC BREAD, TAGLIATELLE AL LIMONE, GRILLED BRANZINO, WINTER BEETS, and 20 LAYER CHOCOLATE CAKE for dessert (not a hit), plus TIRAMISU (also not great). The first three were our favorite! (Garlic bread, tagliatelle, and branzino) were all very good! My favorite part of this dining experience was the ambiance, service, and music selection. Came in on a rainy night for a dinner date and it started out moderately busy at 5p and chatty. It quickly grew louder and was very busy within a couple of hours. The playlist was GREAT, a nice mix between old and new and all genres. Manager Jeremiah eventually asked us for our table after 2.5 hrs or so but moved us over into the bar with complimentary champagne and dessert to account for giving up our table. The bar area in itself was very much like a club. Happy we had a 5p reservation. By 9p the entire restaurant was packed, loud, and on the verge of turning into a nightclub/eatery. We were later informed that a DJ comes after a certain time so that would explain the clubby atmosphere. All in all, a fun restaurant with pretty good food. Valet was very busy and a bit of a wait to get the car but definitely would return.

I'm a local and I feel like this place is slightly more popular around transplants! The service is alright and so is the food but personally, I expected a little bit more! I did like the ambience and the design though!
Be the first to ReplyI came here on my birthday with my husband.
We were sat promptly and the service was great but the food was lacking. We started off with the carpaccio, which ended up getting sent back. It was disgusting and had a sweet after taste to it. The bread was incredible. If you find yourself here definitely get the garlic bread. I got the pasta which was fine, but the chicken parm had an ok flavor but the breading completely slipped off the meat. Last, we ordered a side of sautéed spinach, and as a salt lover, this tasted like the ocean. It was unbearably salty. Inedible. When we sent back the carpaccio, they offered to replace it with something else which was nice, but we did not take that option. My husband and I are well versed in the Los Angeles food scene and I was looking forward to dining at Lavo but unfortunately we won't be back for dinner.

I somehow forgot to take photos of my food but everything was delicious! Came on a Friday night and our server was awesome. Drinks were yummy. As well. Gorgeous restaurant Great for date night. Margherita pizza, truffle fries, tuna, Cesar salad just to suggest a few of the ones I tried!

..Horrific customer service and tasteless ambience...Had a 10:15 reservation they told us another 10 mins---after that they proceeded to tell us it would be another 15 mins. We decided to leave and instead of apologizing the hostess wanted to argue with us. Absolutely unacceptable.

Went to LAVO on a Sunday for a date night and for the first impression it was 10/10. Our waitress Anissa was incredibly helpful From explaining the menu, great recommendations and awesome drink options. She was great from start to finish! The food was great! We order the Penne pasta w chicken and the Lamb chops with butterball potatoes. 10/10. Will definitely be back again

LAVO is definitely a vibe! Super trendy cute restaurant, some good eye candy and music. The food was pretty good. I had salad, pasta and slice of pizza and everything was pretty yummy. The servers were attentive and the drinks were flowing! Will definitely be back!

Cute restaurent but made us wait 2 hours to be seated when we had a reservation. (Not exaggerating) Very disappointing. They did offer a free drink however after waiting that long the entire night is ruined. Service was mediocre.

Although this restaurant is very pretty & trendy-looking, it's not worth the price/quality. Had a suspicion the drinks were watered down.. The Pepsi tasted watery, then our $26 Grey Goose drinks also tasted like water which was extremely disappointing considering the price. The pasta pomodoro's sauce was even weirdly watery. The only pro was that the staff was friendly. Skip this place!
Be the first to ReplyHorrible service.
Rude management. Basically makes you feel dumb if you mess up a reservation instead of being empathetic and trying to solve the issue at hand. Very very rude manager. Didn't get his name because he hustled us out of the restaurant.

Ah... I don't know where to start... We were waiting for more than 15 min to be seated, but okay, it was a busy Saturday night...I have a celiac autoimmune disease and this was the worst experience Menu-wise...My friends were super nice and all food that they ordered, was requested with modifications to be GF-made, so I can share with them as well. Our nice server knew my situation because he even explained why I can't eat tuna tartare. On the other hand, Truffle fries is listed on their menu as GF. After my first bite, I told my friends that the fries has wheat on it. While they all stated that can't be, because is listed as GF. Our server ( standing next to me) responded that I'm right, due to how they made it. I just stop eating fries and with no complaints manager came... not caring at all. After I've told him my serious situation, he came a couple of minutes later explaining that they using The same oil for zucchini almost weirdly stating that he will make sure the next time I come it will be GF?!I was in disbelief at what Im hearing. It doesn't stop there. They lost our validation ticket while cleaning The table. My friend was asked to pay $30 because of the lost ticket. The manager and server were aware of The situation and didn't even bother to step out to The valet guys and explain what happen. If you care about your health, probably avoid this super scenic restaurant in West Hollywood! Real shame how we were treated. Real fiasco! I was advised to speak with Attorney, which I actually will the first thing tomorrow, since they just didn't even care that I can easily end up in ER for hours. I still can't believe what happened last night. Super disappointing for this type of the restaurant.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday, and overall enjoyed LAVO! The restaurant is beautiful in terms of the architecture and decor inside. Definitely recommend sitting in the big room where the tree sits in the center - very inviting and open! The brunch food was good. I ordered the Uova Napoletana with a side of smoked bacon. I really liked the uova, but I will say the eggs could've used more cooking time. There were still some clear runny parts that weren't quite cooked. Also, I'd pass on the bacon unless you share. At nicer restaurants I usually like to indulge in thicker cut, premium bacon. This bacon was the typical kind you'd get at a mid-breakfast place and not worth $14 when you can get a whole pack at the groceries for less than $10. Nonetheless, still thought the Uova was really tasty. Loved the marinara sauce paired with the crostini. Friend got the Avo toast with truffle and liked it, too. We also got drinks that were good! I got the mimosa and it was the perfect Sunday brunch drink. Last thing was service was ok! It was busy, so our waitress didn't come by much (took a while to get water refills, long time to get the check after having finished eating etc.). Really nice folks though. All in all, I think it's a good place to try at least once! I am curious about dinner so maybe then.

The interior is quite beautiful - open air and very California chill. All the drinks we had from the bar were just so so. The Negroni on the cocktail menu tasted like petrol and although I never do this, I had to send it back. The food was hit and miss. It's all served beautifully but better pizzas and pastas could be found all over town. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but you aren't going to be rushing back for the food. This place is about atmosphere. The undeniable bright spot was the service. Friendly and attentive.
