Quite disappointing after reading the reviews.
Very ordinary! Nice service but cold frites and veggies with my Dorade although my husband's seared red tuna was to his liking.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was by far the worst place we ate in France.
I ordered the chicken wok noodles and it was bland and the chicken was dry. My mom ordered a filet minon cooked MEDIUM, and it comes out almost RARE. The waiter brings it back to the cook and he literally cuts it in half and sees a spec of red and claims its medium! Are you kidding?! This is a joke right? I mean who says the customer is wrong in the way the food tastes? Let me add that my mom has eaten filet many times and has ordered it medium all her life. How can every other place cook it the right way and this place screw it up and still claim the customer is wrong and even have the nasty attitude to cut open the steak and say "you're wrong". Terrible place, terrible! Don't come eat here. The service was bad too! We had to go to the front of the restaurant to pay our bill because the waiter didn't come to our table after 20mins of waiting to pay the bill.
Be the first to ReplyDO NOT EAT HERE.
We were ignored for 20 minutes before I went inside and asked for menus. Dropped off without apology or even acknowledgment. Ordered a few minutes later, expressed my own apology at my impatience because I was very hungry having overcome food poisoning. She sort of smiles. Food comes out literally moments later. No napkins. My cote de taureau is RAW. Inedible. No way to let them know as server never regards us again and suddenly speaks no English. This was just aggressive punishment for my asking for menus after twenty damn minutes. I repeat: Do not eat here.

Went for dinner with a family including two very small kids (the host during the visit to Aix) and even if the tables outside were full we were offered to sit inside (which was perfect, because then we didn't have to worry about baby screams disturbing the other guests). We all went with different menus and a nice local wine. The duck (I prefer it "rosé" made) was amazing and the creme brulee fantastic (according to the others the chocolate vulcano-like thing, the one you must order at the same time as the main dish since it does take some time to prepare, was also wonderful). Prices are a bit higher, but so is the standard. Very good service (especially since we sat alone downstairs). Recommended if you're after a fancy dinner.
Be the first to ReplyI was here with three friends.
We were the first to sit down for lunch and the last to leave (well outside, at least), so I think it's fair to say we had a proper French lunch. The food was overall nice but not outstanding. We all chose from their prix-fixe menus and picked a local rosé wine, Rosé d'une Nuit (Château La Coste). (If you didn't know, rosé wines don't have to be awful, and this was a rather nice one.) Some cheese rounded it off. The location is nice by a small square and close to a street of bars for later. Service where we were sitting was fine, reasonably attentive and some English spoken. A high three stars.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place.
Friendly people and lunch is just right (in amount of food ánd taste) and very tastefull. Place Ramus is a very cozy spot in the middle of the old centre where you can easily watch people going by but it is not too crowded.

Le Bistroquet was a great little spot hidden in the crevices of Aix-en-Provence that offered a lunch special of poulet frit (chicken and fries), dessert , and le café (coffee). The chicken was warm, moist, and had the right amount of saltiness. Lunch wasn't too expensive the portions were "American" friendly. This is a great place to sit around and be lazy on a warm day.
