Uncomfortable restaurant with decent food
I went with my friend to this place on a Saturday night, as it was one of his ambitions to go there. We enjoyed the fish soup starter and chicken main, with crispy chips and al dente beans. I had an artisanal french beer - very tasty. The problems were the uncomfortable environment and rushed service. Tables are given for 2 hours, but we had our starters and mains completed after only 40 minutes, after which I was rather uncomfortably stuffed and had to wait a bit before embarking on the delicious chocolate fondant dessert. The floorboards were rickety and often I could feel the floor moving as people walked past. Even worse, when the waiting staff passed behind me they often gave me a shove in the back, for which they apologised, but this made the visit uncomfortable. Also, I asked for mayonnaise for the chips and none was brought. After 1 hour 40 minutes we were rather rushed out of the place by the staff. I think that for the premium Mayfair prices one should be able to relax a bit more.
Be the first to ReplyEvery enjoyable work dinner in their private room
I had dinner at Le Boudin Blanc with my wife many years ago and was looking for somewhere different to host a work dinner and thought this would be a good choice. The room is atmospheric with a great, round table positioned next to the wine cellar, but it as it is in the basement, it does not have windows. This wasn't a problem, but windows would have been a bonus. The food was very tasty, particularly the pudding (tarte tatin) and the recommendations on the wine were very nice. The staff were professional and friendly. All in all, I would really recommend this venue for a work dinner, or just as somewhere to come for dinner.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food - long wait
The evening we dined here was busy, there wasn't an empty table for more than 10 minutes (great for them!). The wine list here is wonderful! Tons of options for every type of taste. After we ordered, we got to chatting and almost an hour went by without our appetizers coming out. A staff member then came to our table and asked what we had ordered. The appetizers quickly came out after that, which were so fantastic!! I had the vegetable risotto and I could have kept eating it all night. When the mains came out (I had the fillet), it was clear they had lost our first order because it was cooked wrong and they had given me the wrong sauce, and forgot our side dishes. We told them right away and our sides & correct sauce came out, but then no one came back until our plates were empty. I get it happens, but there was no apology or anything for our long wait. Wish they admitted the mistake instead of trying to cover it up.
Be the first to ReplyA bit of France In Mayfair
Great French restaurant in Shepherd Market. Great food and amazing selection of wine. Grilled rib of veal is to die for!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent French Cuisine
A beautiful French restaurant located in the heart of Shepherds Market. Excellent service, a gorgeous outside terrace with heaters. The escargots were the best I have ever tasted, cooked to perfection, big, tasty and juicy. The fish soup is also top notch. If you love French cuisine this is a must. 100% recommended.

I would like to once again thank the Team for yet another fabulous experience.
It was very busy the night we went. (Friday)But it's always busy.
🥰
Thanks for a lovely evening!
Excellent
All I can say is Wow ! This is one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time the mussels and the steak were the best I’ve tasted . The staff were so amazing. This made our day . The ambience was great.. The place is a Vibrant amazing restaurant while still being great value for money. Thank you very much for a wonderful experience.
Be the first to ReplyNot French at all...
About the only authentic French aspects of Le Boudin Blanc are the staff accents and the language of the menu. Any self respecting French chef would be ashamed of the food on offer that is masquerading as French cuisine. Some of the low lights of our visit were the starter of mushroom risotto which was a cheesy rice with a few mushrooms in it, and the steaks, the server diligently asked how we would like them cooked and all three ordered differently but when they arrived there was no asking who had the medium, and who had the rare as they were all identical and all over cooked. The dover sole simply tasted of the grill on which it was cooked but the biggest disappointment was the frites . Real French frites are thin and delicious, these were just ordinary chips that had no taste at all. They could well have been oven chips, quelle horreur!
Staff were friendly and helpful but sadly it was not enough to redeem the food.
We were so looking forward to some proper French cooking and we felt very let down and more than a little ripped off. The restaurant itself is really scruffy but we could have forgiven it if we had enjoyed a great meal. We will not be back and if you have ever eaten well in France my advice would be avoid Le Boudin Blanc.
Won’t be coming back
It took me years to finally get to Boudain Blanc, long on my restaurant “to go” list. After a very disappointing experience I won’t be heading back.
Food was ordinary, prices high and service terrible. We had escargot, fois gras terrine, chicken and boudin blanc. All prepared as expected but nothing extraordinary. Nearly all mains on the menu came with mashed potatoes (yawn). Prices were nearly double what I pay in my local restaurants in trendy east London for similar dishes that are better prepared. Now the service. We arrived punctually but had to wait outside for our table. When seated had to beg for a drink. Sommelier literally threw down the wine list (one of those annoying Ipad menus) and hassled us to order wine before taking our drinks order and before we had even seen the food menu. Cutlery given to the wrong people (difficult to eat a terrine with snail clamps), starters came like 10 seconds after we ordered them but wrong portion of escargot served (we ordered half dozen, not 12). Bread plates whisked away after little more than a bite of the bread. White wine served warm.
In fairness the manager was a lovely woman who apologised for the shoddy service and took command. But it wasn’t like we were given a complimentary cuppa or something else. Only that, with much ado, we were informed we didn’t have to pay for the extra portion of snails (which we didn’t order or want).
Overall, I cannot see any reason to recommend this place or indeed return.
Oh dear! What have you done?!
This used to be my favourite restaurant in the world! However, they say that all good things must come to an end. Unfortunately, this is the case here. I've been coming here consistently for over 15 years and the food and service has always been exceptional. My latest visit was quite frankly poor. The French onion soup was not of the usual wonderful standard, the L'escargot was without flavour and a lack of garlic. The fillet steak was OK, but the peppercorn sauce was incredibly bad! If you want to destroy your steak, have this sauce as it was so strong that it ruined the steak. The final straw was that the basics of the staff checking back to see if your food is OK didn't happen until the end of the meal. Quite frankly, so disappointed that I will not be going back.
Be the first to Reply英国伦敦美食探店正宗法餐 Le Boudin Blanc 推荐!
3️⃣4⃣️baguette
5⃣️6️⃣7️⃣Snails with garlic and parsley butter 1/2doz - 9
8️⃣Free range duck leg confit, braised Puy lentils, light veal jus
9️⃣🔟Welsh rump of lamb with provencal vegetables and lamb jus
Excellent, as usual
Have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years - but not recently, for obvious reasons.
Very much a go to restaurant when I’m in London.
Nice decor, small restaurant, not a huge number of tables. Makes for a nice atmosphere.
Menu is not to large, but all of the food is excellent and I’d be happy ordering anything at all of this menu.
Service is first class.
Just an excellent restaurant with great food and service. Love it!
French Bistro with excellent food!
Have to give this place 5 stars and whilst it can still improve, I believe these sorts of restaurants should be jewels. Greeted nicely, snails starter, bread is extra so remember to order this to mop up the garlic butter, lamb rump (medium rare…yum), as a main with superb french fries, which I assume were home made, creme brulee to finish (nice crunchy top). Washed down with a good quality bottle of french red!. Staff were friendly, although they could be a bit more organised.
Be the first to ReplyLovely but crowded and not cheap
Lovely food - overcrowded and expensive I kept getting hit in the back as people moved around the restaurant . Staff were very attentive and charming.
