Lyonnaise cuisine and natural wines
The Hanson/Nasr duo does it again with this ยดpower brasserieยด in Rockefeller Plaza. Magnificent room with a great atmosphere. Lyon-inspired cuisine well executed, good without being transcendent. Choice of sophisticated sommelier with a strong natural orientation (6-7 Cossard cuvees) ideal for the demanding amateur. Overall a little cold but nevertheless very appreciable
Be the first to ReplyFood reasonable but prices joke
Was greeted by a quite aggressive guy who couldnโt find my booking - which I specifically confirmed myself earlier in the day. Nice ambiance but noisy. Service was decent and food better than average - BUT so expensive its a joke. Wouldnโt return as so many other options.

The food is good but the noise situation is totally out of control. Management calls it โlivelyโ and plays background music to encourage people to yell even louder. Hard reflective surfaces everywhere. Banquette seating very tightly packed in. $80 for the least expensive bottle of wine. Never again!
Be the first to ReplyCrazy expensive for subpar food and drink!
The food was awful, the 3oz pour of terrible Rose wine was $23! The pumpkin fritter was plain pumpkin puree in what tasted like an oyster cracker, hard and dry. They charge $9 for a mediocre bread basket. Go any where else!!!

Visited while on a girls NYC at Christmas trip. Everyone that worked here was so nice and accommodating. The food was great from start to finish. We did have a little hiccup with a chateaubriand being served a little too rare. It was immediately removed and returned with many apologies. When the check arrived we had been comped the entree and most of our drinks. It was agreed that they went above and beyond to make sure we left happy even though we werenโt unhappy to begin with.
Be the first to ReplyA Stop Worth Making.
Met for small plates before a dinner someplace else in the neighborhood. A busy place that holds a wonderous presence in a time honored building. Topo Chico water and Einbecker NA Lager are so modern and went nicely with Barbajuans and Calamari Brochettes. All around are some eating there and some going elsewhere as it should be in the center of food in America. A stop worth making if only to admire the view.

Nice food. Rude service from one waiter or MaitreโD I canโt be sure - certainly wasnโt a congenial host. Things got off to a bad start when he rolled his eyes at us, first in frustration that we had been talking and werenโt ready to order and then when we asked questions about the menu. Dreadful. Sommelier much more helpful but the Chablis recommended was not right. While warned it was a little young it was actively fizzy. Other waiters were charming but am afraid I was terribly put off by the opening. Wouldnโt go again.

Le Rock is incredibly convenient if you need a place for a drink close to Rockefeller Center. I am accustomed to paying a premium for location, but this place is over the top. I say this even though my drinks are on an expense account! Nice people here, but our waiter seemed to vanish quite a bit. With so many other options in the city, I would look elsewhere.

Le Rock is a nice bar and restaurant in the Rockefeller Plaza near the ice rink. Itโs trendy and itโs expensive. Worth a look.
Be the first to ReplyService with a beautiful smile
Although we were unable to sample the fine fare and only sat outside for drinks, we were made to feel most welcome by the manager, Sara, and our delightful waitress, Zoe, who appreciated our business however small. The atmosphere was highly energetic chic, and the decor tasteful and inviting. We will definitely come back for for dinner on our next trip.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive, But Delicious French Cuisine!
My wife and I were eager to try this fairly-new, fine French dining restaurant. It has few reviews at this stage, so very pleased by the outcome. We ordered the following: (1) A very traditional Radis Beurre to share, which consists of fresh, crisp radishes, butter and sliced, fresh, crusty baguette. Sounds basic, but really was a delicious starting point; (2) Again, we shared a serving of Agnolotti, which is almost like mini ravioli. It was presented with mushrooms and a creamy sauce. I was reluctant to share because I was going to have steak for the main and did not want to be too filled up. However, this was a light pasta, very delicious and perfect for sharing; (3) Well now, I do adore a filet mignon, but the Bison Au Poivre was 'out of this world'. It was cooked medium rare, and was tender and 'melt in the mouth' succulent. The pepper sauce was terrific. It was spicy, but not too overpowering. These entrees were accompanied, perfectly and simply, with triple-cooked fries and mayonnaise; and (4) For dessert, we shared the Chocolat Noisette Souffle. Need I say more, sweet and delicious souffle, prepared just right. I had a couple of glasses of red wine and my wife had sparkling water and a mocktail. Oh, and a Cafe Noir. Total price was just over $350 with tip. A shout out to our server 'Marco A', who had great knowledge of the menu, was efficient, helpful and funny. Thank you. The atmosphere was beehive busy, but in a well-structured way. The seating was comfortable and a reasonable distance from other customers, yet cosy.
Be the first to ReplyTourist Trap
Tourist Trap - Way over priced for quality of food - Menu was clearly designed for kitchen's pleasure not diners. For instance, shrimp cocktail doesn't come with cocktail sauce. When we asked for some, they said "that's not how we like to serve it" and didn't bring any! - The service is snobby, rude and invades your personal space. Literally bumped into me several times while seated and pounded the table while describing menu. At one point, waiter rolled his eyes!!!! - Tables so close together you can't pass without bumping into the other table. - Wine list super ovepriced, only bordeaux on menu is $650! - Highlight was reception desk, once seated down hill from there - There are fabulous restaurants in NYC, this isn't one of them
Be the first to ReplyIncredible food
Loved it all - feels amazing walking in and the space is so French style like. The food is divine and memorable. The leeks, the beef main dish , the salad w radishes, it's such a different restaurant for New York and Rock Center area, pricing is up there of course, but the quality is incredible and the ambiance very chic. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyMemorable Dining Experience at Rockefeller Center.
Le Rock, stashed in the Rockefeller Center, sports classic French bistro cuisine. The decor is reminiscent of Art-Deco with mahogany on the tables and green-leather banquettes in a gentle radius formation. Fortunately I am bilingual as the menu is predominately French, pushing classics like escargot bourguignons, poulet rotie espelette and other dishes that I didn't know. I couldn't resist the pan seared chunk of bison as a entree that proved to be such a succulent meat item. The outstanding rum laced sponge cake adequately satisfied my sweet tooth.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful lunch
We were for here for a late lunch โ wanted to come for dinner but their Christmas schedule made it unavailable for us during our short time in NYC. Wonderful personnel! Wonderful lunch! Fun, happy atmosphere! We split an order of lovely raw oysters, both had the French onion soup โ so good, hearty with oxtail, and then split and devoured the beautifully served profiterole for dessert. Everything was perfect โ my beer choice was unavailable but was guided to a nice glass of wine, the breads were quite good, and again the people made us very glad weโd come. Definitely hope to make it back here someday!
