Be the first to ReplyA French epicurean experience in Chiswick
Wow, what an all round memorable experience. I visited Le Vacherin, as a special treat and I was not disappointed. The food is authentic French cuisine of the highest order, the service discrete yet warm and the ambience worthy of the finest dining experiences. Marco, the manager, a knowledgeable sommelier and connoisseur of French speciality cheeses, brought a personal touch and expertise to the occasion. His guidance, in helping me chose the right wines, which perfectly accompanied my meal was very much appreciated. I am looking forward to returning, to try the grilled Dover Sole Meunière.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect cure if you are having a tough day
My life would be much sadder and lonelier without this place. This is the kind of restaurant where you come when you are having a tough day. The food warms your heart and the personnel treats you always to a smile. It feels like a family. And the food is definitely worth the trip.
Be the first to ReplyElegant deicious food paired with impeccable service
I am always amazed at how this place can be easy going but with very attentive and elegant service! The manager (Marco) amd the staff are always on point. Paid that with food to die for.. well presented and delicious. I have been a few times already… i will be back a few more.

IT JUST GETS BETTER Haven’t been to Vacherin in a while . Was always one of my favourite places . Cosy - fabulous food beautifully presented and excellent service. So the choice for a birthday lunch - party of 4 A wonderful welcome from Marco and Marianne they have put their stamp on the place. - incredible ambience : lovely setting ; it’s just A star 🌟 As for the food - from the sublime cheese soufflé starter to the delicious mains and glorious desserts. The meal was a triumph. Very reasonably priced for quality food. Incredible service -attentive - but never over the top ( thank you Leah ) All in all a treat . This restaurant has got EVEN BETTER if that’s possible. This is a 5 star gem Marco and Marianne - a massive thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Be the first to ReplyFabulous food and staff; shame about the manager!
Have recently changed menu ( Groupon) .Had really wonderful meal there on Sunday. Cheese souffle, superb, coq au vin was delicious, followed by amazing desert. Would give 5/5, if not for overbearing and intimidating male manager. The service is fabulous, polite and prompt but it is very off putting to hear staff being corrected in quite a rude manner over very minimal things that were not even noticed by diners? Standards, of course should be maintained but we did not care for his bullying manner and made us all feel quite uncomfortable. Will return and if said person not there will give 5/5.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful experience.
On the recommendation of a very foodie friend I took my wife for her birthday. Oh my Lord I wish we had found this place before. We had a sensational meal including loin of Venison topped off by a dessert of mango souffle which my wife is convinced was cooked by an angel. My turn to highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious food 😋 We started with scallops and Gazpacho, followed by cod, chicken and dauphinois. As tasty as it can get. We had a bottle of Pinot Blanc with our meal, and it was totally worth it! Friendly and classy atmosphere with very kind and organised staff, our waitress was always on point and never too much. We had a wonderful time so we are definitely going back 😉
Be the first to ReplyAverage
Overall it was just average. We were not greeted at the door we had to find someone who was less than friendly when we did find them. We were only handed the a la carte menu and had to ask for the price fixe menu, I hate it when restaurants do that, if you have a menu provide it to guests. It feels so underhand. The service was very slow and unfriendly throughout the night. Food was okish but very expensive for what it was. Restaurant itself was nice.

a warm and inviting welcome… thank you Marco and Claire… impeccable service and a menu so good you will be a returning patron… highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible 60th birthday lunch for 30
I hosted a birthday lunch for 30 ladies of various ages yesterday and it ran like clockwork. Anais is a beacon of what hospitality should look like. She led her team with professionalism, style and warmth. All of the food was of an impeccable standard and came out hot which, when 18 had ordered steak is no easy feat. I was amazed when the cheese souffle starters had such height and lightness. The presentation, quality and cooking of each dish was first rate and with service of panache I don't believe I would have received better in a restaurant with a Michelin star. Per head price very reasonable for what we had. I could not rate this experience any more highly - it was simply perfect. THANK YOU.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Sunday lunch
Four of us came here for lunch on Sunday. The French brasserie setting is lovely and bright, perfect table settings, cheerful atmosphere. Mostly full restaurant. We had: 2xfrench onion soup (excellent) cheese souffle (excellent) moules (excellent) followed by: pepper steak frites (excellent) beef and yorkshire pudding ravioli dish coq au vin (all very good) This was followed by: three creme brulees and a sorbet dish and all that with two bottles of white wine. Total cost was: £212,00 or around £53.00 a head. I think that's very good value indeed for a very well presented and good quality lunch in London with two bottles of wine....and absolutely impeccable service. To be clear: This isn't Michelin star fine dining and the setting is a tad dated. But the sense that this was a very good Sunday lunch - and very good value - was shared by all of us.
Be the first to ReplyTime to update?
Have been coming here for years but this time I felt the place being a bit tired. Food is ok but not more than that, fish overcooked and plating of all dishes lacked in visual presentation. The decor is also starting to feel old. Service was ok but I was surprised how few people they had on a Friday evening so think it is time for a bit of updating.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyable first visit
Found the menu choices, particularly for appetisers, slightly awkward but settled on shared Chateaubriand for tthe main course and it was excellent and cooked to doneness just as ordered. Dessert was good too.
Be the first to ReplyGreat French food
A large group of us met at the restaurant for a lunch get together. The satff were welcoming, though a little bit fussy We had pre-ordered the lunch The food was excellent, I had a chees souffle to start with, it was very good in a pool of melted creamy cheese, it came with an endive and walnut sald with a nicely tart dressing that counteracted the rich souffle. My neighbour liked her onion soup My main of duck was excellent, nicely carved, just pink, covered in honey gravy accompanied with dauphinaise potatoes, Neighbours had fish or steak or coq au vin, all were happy with the food Desserts included sorbets, fig tart, fruit salads etc. Overall excellent food, good service, and an enjoyable ambience.

My friend and I spent a fantastic day yesterday in the kitchen, chopping and cooking for lunchtime service. It was so interesting, challenging and just a great experience. Marc and the team are so knowledgeable and welcoming. Recommend it to anyone who loves cooking.

We had not been to Le Vacherin for a number of years, fearing it was too formal with overly rich food. However, our visit in October 2022 was a very pleasant experience. The staff were welcoming, the food was excellent, and the wine was smooth. The presentation of everything was great: crisp white tablecloth and sparkling glasses, smartly dressed waiters. The venison was tender, accompanied by perfect flavours and textures. Certainly not too heavy, even with extra fries on the side! My filo pastry dessert was really unusual and very tasty. Shanti provided attentive and friendly service throughout. We will be back when we fancy a special night out. It's not cheap if you go a la carte, but the quality makes it worth it.
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful Sunday lunch for our group of 9
Thankyou to all the team for a wonderful Sunday lunch for our party of 9 friends this weekend. I'm sure it is tiring looking after a large table but the team are very professional and made it look effortless . Food was complimented by all in our party. I think you will have quite a few repeat bookings from our group as we were very impressed.
Be the first to ReplyManager is Rude
Really disappointed with this restaurant today. Been coming here for years and it has always been our favourite for special occasions. The Manager today was rude and quite frankly I don’t ever want to eat here again. She did not listen and then she complained that I was upset with her behaviour - she should check her behaviour first!!!

Great food! A lovely evening, enhanced by our server Shanti’s charming and attentive service. A local gastronomic haven.

As usual, the food is exquisite and the service is impeccable. Absolutely the best French restaurant in West London! Many thanks.

Fantastic French food, absolutely lives up to the Michelin recommendation. Sophisticated ambience with attentive wait staff that were not intrusive. Andre made us excellent aperitifs to start our night. Thank you Le Vacherin team front and back of house
Be the first to ReplyLovely and yet...
I had been wanting to come for ages. The set price menu is excellent value. The decor is charming, fin de siecle France. The service is very attentive, formal and French in style, which was good, yet I found myself yearning for them to relax a little bit. The cheese souffle was delicious, my chicken was too, but apart from the dessert it was all a bit stodgy and heavy. Fine if you like this thing. Yet I found myself wishing for a little less cream. Definitely order some veg sides if you go, there is no overabundance of vegetables here. My friend and I arrived early and were seated immediately. But after two hours we were ready to go.
