Worst Chinese on town We came here relaying hotels recommendation. Could not been worse. Menu with fotos should have triggered our suspicions.. Four out of four appetiser “we dont have that at the moment” Eventually found one and main course to my wife and myself. While waitresses was preparing appetizer on side table my wife’s main course was served. Few seconds later appetisers we served came my lobster main. All this happed in 10 min after our order. So they must have a powerful microwave oven. Returned mains and “enjoyed” appetiser. Ordered vines with main course. Few second came reheated mains. We where so shocked that we did not realise that we should have returned. Started eating. Several waiters came asking “do we need more vine” but nothing happened. More than half way vines finally came. When paying the bill of 300 local $ I asked to they think they served experience worth that money. Staff did not understand what I was asking. Paid the bill an left. Avoid

The famous cantonese restsurant chain from hongkong. Good for dim sum in the afternoon. For dinner, their dishes like crispy rice with lobster broth or steamed fish are good. Service varies
Be the first to ReplyGood food but poor service
Firstly, many wines on the wine list were marked with a green sticker as 'out of stock' - so many! This was unacceptable. The food we received was very good, no complaints there, but the service was bordering on appalling. No one came to take our order, had to pour our own wine a number of times, our dishes were never cleared even though all the food had been eaten. Overall disappointing, which was a shame as the kitchen team did their part, but everyone front of house were clearly disinterested.
Be the first to ReplyRude Captain and Disappointing Quality
We were aware that there was a time limit for dining but what we did not expect was barely one hour (yes one hour) from the time we were seated, a captain (a tall guy in suits) started clearing the plates and repeatedly, in an impolite manner, reminding us to consume the remaining food on the table so that he could clear it. He was actually taking away the dim sum just as he was chasing until we stopped him. 15 minutes later, the same man would come over again demanding us to leave the restaurant to make space for his next customer. Rude and disrespectful. Food quality has deteriorated significantly over the years, certainly not worth the price you are paying. Only reason to visit would be to experience the horrible service.

lovely dim sum - fine and refined. similar to other big fancy singapore dim sum restaurant, lovely service, great variety of choices
Be the first to ReplyHorrendous drop in standards!
First of all, the staff are extremely disorganised. Second this is the first place where tea is poured not through the spout but from the TOP where the lid is. Third the food standard has gone completely down the drain. It is not much different from eg. Seng Kee. Fourth at the price point it is totally not worth it. Jade at Fullerton, Man FunYuan at Intercontinental, Summer Pavilion at Ritz Carlton… ANY of them is a better choice. How this place managed to maintain a Michelin ranking is beyond me.

First visit, dim sum lunch, the har gau was good. The siew mai, spare ribs and chicken feet were just average, but the crispy roasted pork, char siew, salted egg bun and xiao long pow were above average. Glutinous rice, pork congee shrimp roll and bbq pork bun were just okay. No card discount, ambience okay and normal customer service, about SGD50 each for a decent lunch.

A week in Singapore and we wined and dined in tremendous restaurants, lei garden was the best. It’s location was perfect, the surrounding garden fantastic, the decor of the restaurant chic , above all the food was 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌. In a nut shell it’s an absolute must

We found this Michelin-star restaurant by accident looking for another. Happy chance - we had a quite superb meal on the terrace looking out onto the buzzy Chijmes square of restaurants in this former convent. The terrace manager, Tee Yanmu, is a mixologist, and my gin and tonic was about as far from a Gordon's and Schweppes as you could ever imagine. Viv's negroni was similarly crafted, and we followed them with an Ara sauvignon blanc which was worth the $108 price. I want to tell you what we ate, having kept the receipt, but it is in Chinese characters and I can't remember! But it was delicious seafood and not overpriced - our food was $86 before tax and service for two courses of excellence. But Yanmu was the star of the show, ably assisted by his colleague on the night, who recognised and greeted us as we walked by the following day. The digestifs kindly given to us at the end were much appreciated. Well worth a visit.

Our group was keen on Peking duck and suckling pig, both of which were outstanding. We also had steamed fish and vegetables which were excellent
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, good service
Great restaurant. Good staff. Good food. It was a business meeting - and the overall ambiance was super nice. They have a pretty big property. The food was served in a timely manner and everything was great

Great location. Excellent lunch at a fair price. Cuisine is deeply Chinese. Plenty of choice and reservations recommended. The soups are outstanding
Be the first to ReplyPleasant restaurant but average food, pricey for its quality.
I visited this restaurant with 5 business associates on a Thursday lunchtime. Enjoyed the busy vibe to the room and found the table size generous- we were able to have a discreet discussion without the formality of a private room. Staff were delightful. However I expected more from the Michelin set lunch. The dishes lacked any star quality and were as expected from a less expensive or favoured restaurant.

Had a family lunch here. Pre-ordered the peking duck and roast pork, which are always good and sold out The rest of the dishes and dim sum also good Good service Always full on weekends, book early 9/10

Be the first to ReplyGreat dim sum!
Taken here on a business lunch by a client and each dish we had was very good. Dim sum are fabulous, noodles and bbq pork a delight. Nice menu with lots of variety in a room with a good ambience and lots of fish in tanks along the back of the restaurant.

Excellent restaurant at Chijmes. The food was yummy. Enough space for social distancing. The staff were prompt and easily available. The seating allows for people to have intimate discussions without feeling crammed. Everything we tasted was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyWorse service encountered
Had set meal and food was average.
I was really disappointed with the services provided by the manager.
Beautiful restaurant in beautiful complex
We were among the first to be seated at 6 pm. Our first choice, crispy chicken, was not available. We ordered egg yolk prawns, Hong Kong Kailan, fried manto, and rice. It never looked to us like the restaurant was full. For dessert we had 4 glutinous dumplings and mango pudding. The food was excellent, and the service was prompt and friendly. It's always fun to walk around Chijmes after dinner because the architecture is so well lighted and appears so dramatic.

The well known michelin chinese restaurant from hong kong. Had a few of their dim sum, some dishes, and crispy rice with lobster broth. All very good, especially the latter. The artic air con cools the hot food fast. The service was surprisingly very good as well
Be the first to ReplyGreat Cantonese food !
The standard is kind of dropped compared to many years I have visited here. The poached Australian lobster with egg while kind of bland! Nothing special about this dish that I would expect some wow feeing! Then pan fried Wagyu was good but kind of small in serve! The stewed spiked sea cucumber was perfect cooked to the right texture and taste. The stir fried Garoupa fish fillet kind of average. The double boil sea Treassure in deluxe clear soup is out of the world. The standard is still hold! The fried glutinous rice with chinese sausage is one of the best I have tried ! Missed their fry sesame ball and ordered one .. still as good. I put average as I expect the Michelin star quality food. Sercice was great and attentive.. but they charged me $100 corkage for bringing 3 bottles wine and one bottle whiskey!
Be the first to ReplyRefuse to void credit card transaction on their terminal
Visited on 7 Feb for my CNY reunion with family. After meal, they charged me twice, and voided one with a slip for me. However, this was not voided on their terminal and the hold amount on my credit card still sit in my credit card today. It appears they don't expect people to make purchases during CNY period. Despite repeated pleas and calls for them to void this transaction on their terminal, they did not do so. Spoilt my reunion and I will never go back there again. BTW their aircon in room 12 upper floor was not functioning properly also. Ridiculous place.
Be the first to ReplyStyle and substance
The standard has gone down, by a lot. Styling is still there. Too expensive and flavor missing. Avoud
Be the first to ReplySince the arrival of Tim Ho
Since the arrival of Tim Ho Wan,the standard of dim sum in Singapore has raised to a new high. It’s a pity that Lei garden restaurant is not able to catch up, but instead fallen to a new low. Basically, nothing is worth mentioning as you could get a much better experience at Wah Lok, Carlton hotel which is just opposite.
In short, I would ask myself whether Michelin star could be bought?
Disappointing dinner
Took 3 relatives there in Oct on a Friday night. Ordered the set dinner. Except the Peking duck, the rest of the dishes were so underwhelming. The lobster noodles were so dry n tasteless. Think the chief must have changed. Better save your money and go else where.
