Big place, big menu
Big, busy red sauce Italian place with a big local following. All the dishes we ordered were fine and ample. Oddly, the cottony bread brought down the quality of the rest of the menu. The place feels like an oversized diner with a particularly good cook.

I had such an amazing time at Lilian's. The server was AMAZING! I was celebrating a birthday with my extended family and everyone felt so welcome. I will definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyGreat smells and great food
Traditional Italian food with a very attentive and friendly staff. You cannot go wrong if you stick with the classics. Sunday gravy was top notch!

Everything was scrumptious! The hostess and our server were both super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was charming. We ordered the Sunday gravy and chicken parmigiana and both were delicious! We were steered towards the chocolate dessert (I can’t recall the name), it was so good! If we lived in Santa Cruz this would be on our list of regular places to go. Great meal!

We went for dinner. They were very busy and said it would be an hour wait for two. We decided to get takeout (after hesitating a minute and the hostess saying it would more likely be 1-1/2 hour wait). She said our takeout order would be 20 minutes. We ordered and paid and then were told we could sit at the bar to eat if seats became available. Within five minutes our order was ready, but seats opened at the bar, and the hostess said we could eat at the bar. The male bartender kindly replated our order on dishes; the female bartender had no time for us at all once she learned our order was paid for. Neither did the male bartender for that matter, both checking in with parties on either side of us and pointedly ignoring us completely. The house salad was very good with a lot of fresh ingredients; the Sunday sauce was delicious as well; the bread was so-so. Everything would have been so much nicer had we not been persona non grata at the bar. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt less welcome. It’s too bad that cordial service depends on how large a tip will be made. The restaurant is very loud and takeout may have been preferable.

The restaurant is large and a little noisy. The service is fast (almost stressful) Otherwise nice address and very good food
Be the first to ReplyGood place...not very Italian.
It proposes itself as an Italian cuisine restaurant, but the cuisine, although appreciable, is very Americanised. Good attention and proposals for celiacs. Excellent service. High prices.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Food & Service
My grandparents were locals and first started bringing my family to Lillian's years ago. Since then, we keep returning to find great service and delicious food. We haven't ordered something that we haven't liked. We just visited for our anniversary dinner and it was great as always.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Italian food
The place is large with tons of seating (their parking lot was in back of the restaurant). We were there on a busy evening and it was fairly noisy, but the food make up for any noise issue. The service was very good and they had a very large and varied menu. We started with the burrata salad which was one of the best we have ever had. Their pastas were great, especially the pasta with "gravy". It was a fun place to visit with excellent food.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food as well as entertaining
It's very lively but not raucous. Watching the interactions of various patrons, particularly around the bar, is entertaining in a way that you might well encounter in an establishment more known for drinking than exquisite dining, but Lillian's pulls both off with aplomb. We found the appetizers so good and flavorful that we never had room for an entree. There were other appetizers that looked scrumptious as well, as did a number of the appetizers. We thought we could have happily eaten there all week. My hearing isn't the greatest to say the least, but the volume of conversation in the restaurant never made it difficult conversing at the table. And if the conversation should wane, you can always create scenarios and conjectures about interactions playing out at the bar. The service was highly efficient, knowledgeable, and helpful. All the staff hurries about in almost choreographed coordination, providing everything in a timely fashion, pausing only to provide good information on food and wine choices as requested. An Italian family feel as its best.
Be the first to ReplyEverything was great—service, wine and service!
Truffle stuffed gnocchi in Gorgonzola cream sauce with chicken was superb. Just as you would imagine it would taste in Italy. The seafood pasta feature was A1. Great wine selection and attentive server made this a memorable meal on our long trip.
