Not bad
This is a restaurant located in the Shops of Wailea. The inside of the restaurant is rather small, less than 10 tables. We did a walk in for an early dinner & able to get a table immediately but I would recommend a reservation. The food is Asian insipired. We had the Pupu Special Soft Shell Crab, which was pretty much deep fried crab with calamari sauce on the side. We had the fried chicken with garlic rice, Cantonese lobster noodles and kids short ribs for our daughter. Fried chicken was HuGE, enough for 2 people of share. We had the one with the peanut sprinkle. The chicken was super crispy and glazed with sweet sauce.

This restaurant was recommend by one of the drivers of Hotel Wailea. We waited a few minutes for our reservation before we were seated. My meal took a while, only to be served alone and almost another 20min before my wife’s meal arrived, terrible. They offered one free sorbet to make up for this. Although the food was flavourful, the service was sadly lacking 😳

We arrived at Lineage right at opening without a reservation. The host was able to accommodate a table for two on their patio. The patio seating wraps around the restaurant and the restaurant is located at the Shop at Wailea. This isn’t a place to dine with a view but an excellent option for upscale Asian Fusion food with excellent service, great cocktails and generous portions. Our server guided us through the menu. We decided on a ahi poke appetizer and the pata a pork dish that comes with garlic rice. We ordered garlic noodles as our general philosophy is one can never have too much garlic with a meal. My husband is a big eater but we still had plenty of leftovers to take back to our condo. The service team was excellent. No one missed a beat without hovering or making us feel rushed to turn over tables. If you enjoy Asian flavors with unique preparation give this place a try.

I was really excited to go to lineage. As we sat down the waiter noted that we had an allergy at the table which is me I’m allergic to raw onions . Very allergic. As my chicken came out, there was a bowl of raw onions right on my plate, unacceptable extremely dangerous everyone in the restaurant should know if there’s an allergy there.! With this major mistake i left very anxious! And I won’t even look or walk by this lazy restaurant.

We were a party of 6 and this place was fantastic. I would never have picked this place on my own, so I was so appreciative my friend made the reservation. The waiter was a tad overzealous and pretty much wanted us to order EVERYTHING, but we skipped the apps and went straight to the main shares. We got the Wagu short ribs (make sure to uses the sauce and bone marrow on the meat-it made all the difference. Don't just eat the meat on its own), Korean fried chicken, fresh fish (amazing), venison special (this was also amazing) and the Broccolini. close to my favorite meal of the week.

Service overall pleasant. A bit delayed getting our bill at the end. Food: too salty, too much soy perhaps. Garlic noodles were pretty good but spicier than advertised and heavy salt flavor. Steak with lettuce-wrap also too salty. Croquettes were a blended down mix of shrimp & scallop. Outer texture fried and good but the inner texture was more like pate and mushy texture. Flavor was good though. No real ambiance: inside way too loud and outside not much to look at.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, service not so much
We had an excellent dinner at Lineage with a subpar server. He suggested ordering each main course (a ridiculous suggestion given that only 2 were not meat and we had informed him that 2/4 of us are pescatarian) and also the size of the mains. When we did not order as he suggested, he seemed annoyed and said the food would come out when it was ready, and there was no pacing of the order. As a result, we had 3 small plates delivered within minutes of each other, then a main of noodles soon after, and the market fish. The drinks were delivered literally 2 minutes after ordering. The result was an excellent meal, but one that was hurried with no pacing at all. The server's goal appeared to be to get us out ASAP. Lineage is an upscale restaurant and it's unfortunate that the service did not align with the quality of the food. If you want a leisurely dinner, this may not be the place to go.

I’m glad we were able to get in a reservation as it was Thanksgiving. It was a pre set menu but we enjoyed it for one that it wasnt your traditional turkey dinner menu and we loved all Of it. We were impressed with the reviews about their regular menu as well as by word of mouth. The service was great. As busy as it was, all the employees were really nice and welcoming. We had the “Aunty Kine Tings” cocktail served in these cute cat mugs. Loved it!!! We will definitely be back when we visit Maui again

We ordered vegan options from their menu and were pleased with the flavor and creative ingredients. I had the Cantonese Lobster noodles which were delicious and flavorful and started with the excellent ahi poke. The Lion's Mane Mushroom Liangban Salad was also delicious. We also had the be Lechon Kawali "Bi Bim Bap" which was very good with perfect pork belly. The waiter was helpful and accommodating with active service.

Had dinner there last week and I think it's one of the best restaurants in the area. Great service and food selections. Especially liked the Poke. One of the best I have had, and I have have had many! The lobster dish I had wasn't the best as it was previously frozen, but everything else was great. Make reservations as there seems to be a shortage of restaurants now after the fire.
Be the first to ReplyYUM! Went back a second time and got the same thing
It's hard to summarize this place... we went on a recommendation and probably wouldn't have looking at the menu, we don't typically eat fried rice or anything like that. But... the food was AMAZING. We got the crispy cauliflower and golden fried rice... it was fresh and flavorful with good proportions for leftovers.
Be the first to ReplyThe best meal on Maui
Words can’t describe the deliciousness at Lineage (but I’ll try). We tried the restaurant the first night on the island. Based on the recommendation of our (AMAZING, ATTENTIVE and COURTEOUS) server, Nick, we tried the oysters, the garlic noodles and of course the fried chicken. The food took us by surprise… the flavors were so intricate and complimentary. We are frequent dinners of fine establishments and this ranks up there with a Michelin experience. So what did we do, we’ve gone back twice to sample more on the menu. We brought friends. They were blown away as well. Vegans, vegetarians and picky eaters alike will all find something appealing to their tastebuds at Lineage. We’ve got three more weeks on the island and will, no doubt, be back for a couple more meals. Kudos to the kitchen and service team for amazing meals and experiences.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Hospitality, Great Food.
Rarely have we encountered on Maui more responsive and hospitable restaurant staff - hosts, server, runners and all. We didn’t like sitting at the bar and the hosts took the initiative to get us a great table. Our server was knowledgeable (about dinner and suggesting a fab bread store). The runners were cheerful. Most interesting food we’ve had on Maui. The fried chicken was crispy, moist and had a great glaze. The ahi salad was the best salad we’ve had on island. Sorry, but you’ll have to go elsewhere for the ubiquitous macadamia encrusted mahi mahi! 😋
Be the first to ReplyThursday Evening Dinner
Walked by the Shops at Wailea on my way to a local market and saw a lot of diners sitting outside at Lineage. I was intrigued and asked the hostess if I could be seated (party of 1). She suggested the bar and I was quickly escorted to a seat there. The special cocktail of the evening was something called the Bond Girl. I ordered that (delicious!) and then two small bites - one was the deviled egg dish and the other was the scallops. The deviled eggs were incredible, like nothing I'd ever tasted. The scallops (4) were nicely seared and accompanied with some baked item (I forget what it was but it was VERY tasty and biscuit-like). Then a lemongrass sauce was poured into the bowl with the scallops and biscuit. Super yummy!

We got here around 7 on a Thursday. We didn’t have reservations but lucked out with seats at the bar. Our server was great. She was very attentive and quick. We ordered the short rib, seafood and sausage stone pot and golden fried rice. Everything was delicious but the short rib was our favourite. It came with garlic rice, bone marrow, kim chee and vegetables. It was very tender and cooked well. Seafood and sausage stone pot had a bit of a kick to it, but it was really flavorful. Food came out really quick. Would definitely recommend this restaurant

Decided to stop in after a walk around the shopping mall. Hostess was accommodating with only a 15 minute wait for a seat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and recommended the popular garlic noodles and the Wagyu steak platter, which were delicious. He also pours an awesome mai tai!
Be the first to ReplyWow. Really exceptional.
Wow. Really exceptional. We were able to get a table last minute and so happy we did. Delicious! We shared the 6-minute eggs and oyster special for starters. The eggs were so flavourful!! And then for mains we shared the garlic noodles and honey shrimp. Those noodles!!! How did they take something so simple and then make them so freaking moorish!! Shrimp were super fresh and tasty too. Capped it off with pandan bread pudding. The cremeux on the top was the only miss but the bread pudding itself was delish. Enjoyed it all with a really smooth cloudy sake. And our server (think he name was Lane) was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very impressed!
Be the first to ReplyThe Korean fried chicken is unique and worth the visit
Had a nice dinner with friends at Lineage Terrific service The menu is fairly small to match the sizes of the dishes We would have ordered 4-5 things but after seeing the first course, we ordered all but 2-3 of the dishes Some were PF Chang knockoffs and truthfully not as good The only exceptional dish in my opinion was the Korean fried chicken- it was fabulous My dinner companions were all more impressed that I was Still, a very nice selection of Asian fusion dishes

Thank you for accommodating us on what was clearly a very busy night. Good location, pleasant surroundings, varied menu, and excellent food. Staff were very welcoming and professional, except one male waiter who left me feeling a little bewildered at the end of the evening by deciding to slip into an English accent to mock a couple of tourists.
Be the first to ReplyAlmost didn’t go. Glad we did!
Flavorful food with great presentation. Great Mai Tai’s and friendly service. We sat outside so never saw the inside. Located in the shops of Wailea, so there are shoppers walking by and the walkway lights are distraction, but the food and friendliness of the staff make up for those shortcomings. Glad we didn’t miss this hidden gem.

Lineage felt like the most unique place we dined during the stay. Their menu is very interesting and sets itself apart from a lot of the traditional seafood restaurants. Property also had a great vibe, nice that the shops at Grand Wailea were right next to it as well.

Really different menu, highlighting fresh ingredients. Definitely on the fancy and pricey side but a memorable meal. The desserts are some of the best we have ever had.

We had read good things about the restaurant and looked forward to our dinner there. Definitely would not go again. Zero ambiance, very rushed, and extremely noisy inside. The kitchen got our order wrong - we only ordered 2 drinks and 2 “shares.” Food was tasty, but didn’t make up for everything else this place lacked. Took an hour to get our meal. Sorry we ate there.

Very busy place, inside very crowded. We were lucky and sat outside. Food was very good, the lobster noodles were excellent but very rushed feeling as lineups were waiting. No atmosphere but good quick meal.

Amazing meal! Unique dishes and everything was incredible. Awesome Mai Tai! Comparable to Duke’s, on par w Monkeypod. Aji Tamago 6 min egg, Taki(octopus) starters excellent. Mains: local fish, shrimp, cauliflower,Szechuan noodles, all impeccable. Shared all 5 deserts. All fantastic! Prices ranged from $18-$65 for entrees. Not cheap, but felt we got our money’s worth. One of best meals in last 10 days in HI!
