Little Sparrow Atlanta Reviews from The Last Year
Looking for a romantic dinner setting with your partner or
Looking for a romantic dinner setting with your partner or a cute girls night out? You found THE spot. Everything about the ambiance is a 10/10, think sexy 60's with Parisian subtleties. You can't go wrong with their Tequila speciality cocktail 'Encore, Encore', it's my go to. My husband was a fan of the 'OMD', the presentation are simple but elegant. We enjoyed the delicious burger & chicken schnitzel. Both were prepared perfect. Our server was Gabby, she was an expert in describing each plate in her own unique & thoughtful way. 10/10!
Very unusual experience.
They will not accommodate dietary restrictions. I'm on a low carb diet, asked for the fries to swapped for a side salad or really any non starch side on the menu. The waitress just judges our food preference instead of complying with our request. Also took forever to actually take the order. Overall, this is a disappointing experience (unlike any of Ford Fry's other places, of which I'm a frequent patron). For the price point of this place, service must be much more robust and the kitchen must be more accommodating. SAD. Go to Bistro Niko instead if you want French. Waste of money.

The food was absolutely delicious, we had such a great experience and it was our very first time. The only thing that needs more work is the service and the training of the waitress. She didn't really explain the menu to us, barely checked on us, and didn't refill our drinks. We ordered the clams and the cheese fries, both were very good. Their bread is so fresh and the butter is amazing!! For our entrees we ordered the chicken schnitzel and the burger, very good. Will come back but hopefully we will have a better service.
Incredible.
Shoutout to our server, Ashley. She gave great recommendations and we enjoyed everything. Highlights were the petit martini, pork, and olive oil soft serve. Definitely will be back.
This is a great date night spot! The ambiance is unmatched
This is a great date night spot! The ambiance is unmatched and the food is great. A little pricey but it was 100% worth it. The service is great and the hosts and waiters were so friendly. We walked in at about 8:30 with no reservations and were seated within 15 minutes. We sat outside on the patio. I would recommend this place to others.
Burger and fries are great and trout was tasty.
Hot bread and butter are the deal! Service was spot on, timely and charming.
Our experience was AMAZING! We went for a birthday dinner
Our experience was AMAZING! We went for a birthday dinner and had TK as our server, she was the best and was so knowledgeable about the menu! She described every dish in mouth-watering detail! See food details below: French onion Soup- must order!!!! The best I've had and so good with the warm baguette Fries with raclette- delicious, definitely order the fries with any of the 3 sauce options Halibut- 10/10 light but still rich, melts in your mouth La vie en rose- this was our least favorite, the beef patty was underwhelming Cheesecake- WOW!! Best I've ever had
Good but Not Amazing
It just is not good or interesting enough. The majority of the items are easy to prepare and as mentioned the prices are simply too high for what you get. Scallops were awesome but 3 with a tiny bit of cabbage. Bread excellent and all food good. Space is cool.
Amazing experience.
My wife and I usually go to a Steak and Lobster restaurant in Atlanta Anniversary. We heard so many good things about Little Sparrow we decided to give it a try. From the time we walked in we felt an exciting vibe. The hostess was most gracious and sat us at a table both my wife and I thought was a "preferred". We were then greeted by our waitperson Timothy who was very friendly and greeted us with a Happy Anniversary greeting. He then went on to explain the menu and gave us suggestions. We started with the Onion Soup which was excellent. They also brought out fresh hot sourdough loaf along with salted butter in olive oil. Our main courses were chicken Schnitzel and Dove Soul. Both were excellent. Adding fries as a side dish was an added bonus as the fries are fantastic. We both had cocktails which were very good. And the Sommelier helped us with a wine selection. My only negative was a limited by glass wine selection. We ended our meal with bananas foster. We will definitely be back as we so enjoyed this culinary experience with amazingly attentive service.
This place was so incredible.
The entire experience from entering to leaving was 20/10. TK was AMAZING. She knew sooooo much about history/ the menu. She made our date so special and memorable and I can't thank her enough. It's rare you find great hospitality and authentic energy in the sand place. The food was ABSOLUTELY incredible also. New favorite spot here. Thank you guys.
My new favorite restaurant, a real gem and unique
My new favorite restaurant, a real gem and unique experience! Every dish is special and thoughtfully prepared, right down to the butter they serve with the amazing French bread. I want to try everything on the menu. Service is attentive and servers are well trained. We started with the shrimp appetizer and both salads. The beet salad with goat cheese was my favorite. Shrimp was surprisingly spicy. Then we tried three entrees: Scallops, Dover sole and la vie en rose. The Dover sole was the best, the steak frites were magnificent but so incredibly decadent I could feel the oil pooling in my cheeks. The potato side dish was also incredibly decadent and rich, I could only eat a tablespoon. It was like a big bowl of cheese, fondue, really good, but you can't eat a lot of it. The asparagus and morel mushrooms were fantastic. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and tried one of the soft serve ice creams with the fennel pollen, sea salt and olive oil and honey drizzled on top. The crème brûlée was not too sweet, I would've liked a deeper flavor. The soft serve ice cream was fantastic! Very unique, just get it and for only $9 it's a perfect light treat to end the meal! The next time I go, I want to try the Filet Americain, halibut bouillabaisse and chocolate soufflé. Then the third time I go, I want to try the clams, chicken schnitzel and bananas foster soft serve. Then 4th, onion soup and new York strip and dripping potatoes... this list goes on and on and can't wait to make my next reservation! We are lucky to have such an amazing restaurant in Atlanta!

In the same location as JCT was, which was one of my favorites. The decor is nice and warm. Our service was excellent! We ordered the Onion Soup and Beets for starters. We both preferred the beets over the soup, too much cheese for us between both dishes plus they give you a baguette and butter, so I was getting diary'ed out! The baguette was warm, which is a plus! So glad there is a place that still serves complimentary bread and butter!! For entrees we order the Chicken Schnitzel and Halibut. These dishes are great if you are looking for a light dish that feels on the healthier side. The Chicken had a nice crisp with lovely greens. The halibut was served in a nice Le Creuset dish with mussels and lobster pieces mixed in. It did have a hint of spice to it. I am not a fan of salty food so to some it may taste bland but to us it was perfect. With that said each person will have a different opinion here. We ended with the evoo, honey, and bee pollen soft serve and basque cheesecake. We both were bigger fans of the soft serve . Don't mean the cheesecake wasn't good, just means there was a clear winner. All and all it was a nice evening out to dinner.

SO good! Steak frites 10/10!!! Also love the bar upstairs, bar blanc. Service 10/10 as well.
Charming European Cuisine
This place was Beautiful, just a lovely romantic setting. Service was spot on! Our server was as delightful as she was knowledgeable. AND THE CHEESE. Raclette service! Just trust me on this, you want it. Every bite was just as delectable as the last! Our only regret is that we live in another state and will be unable to frequent this gem! Enjoy!
My boyfriend and I were excited to try this spot today
My boyfriend and I were excited to try this spot today around 5pm (on a Monday) and was greeted by a very rude hostess. She was so rude, we decided not to stay. We wanted to go to the bar area but it was full, however the restaurant was empty. It was a nice day and wanted to sit outside. They have outdoor seating so we asked if we could sit there. The hostess immediately shut that idea down saying, "...yeah you can but you can't do any cocktails out there" We never mentioned we were getting cocktails and immediately felt that we were not welcomed there. Very disappointed about the service we received here. We will not be returning here to try it out.

This place is unbelievable! From the cocktails, appetizers, entrees and dessert we were not disappointed! We also had the best server I have ever encountered! Tim A. was very helpful in helping us to decide what to choose. He was so very kind, entertaining and just an overall great guy! The ambiance was nothing short of a very exceptional experience. The start was an exceptional dirty martini accompanied by fresh baked bread with butter, sea salt and olive oil. Just delicious! Second were the appetizers, french onion soup was the best I ever had, the shrimp and clams were equally incredible. Then came the main course of the absolute best scallops I have ever had. The steak and frites were nothing short of amazing! Last and certainly not least was the dessert! The chocolate soufflé was delicious, warm and so awesome! We also had the soft serve ice cream that was top with honey, olive oil, fennel pollen and a touch of sea salt. No words to describe the incredible flavors! I will return every time we are back in town. It was the best birthday dinner with my best friend and husband I could have ever hoped for!
Little Sparrow did not disappoint us last night.
My husband and I have been to a good bit of French restaurants and Little Sparrow is one of the best we had yet! The restaurant is so cute and service is top notch! The food was absolutely amazing but the highlight of it all was the French onion soup for us! We will defiantly be back soon.

We had a dinner reservation for 4 at 7:45 pm on Tuesday, 4/30/24. They unfortunately do not validate parking. Dimly lit. Booths and regular tables. Loved the feel of it. Perfect for dates or groups. We were there to celebrate my birthday and they did not disappoint! TK was our amazing waitress. She brought the best energy to our table! They lit a candle on one of our desserts and gave my friends postcards to write birthday wishes on for me and then Little Sparrow is mailing them to me! The sweetest gesture! They also gave us each a glass of champagne and they gave me a LS plate signed by the chef. We got 3 hors d'oeuvres, 2 frites, 1 entree, and 2 desserts. It was more than enough. Next time, we'd only get 1 frites. Here's what we got: - Lavain Baguette (free): OMG. The butter is amazing. - Jasper Hill Harbison ($26): Sooooo good. The hazelnuts and brown butter on top were *~*chef's kiss*~*. - Filet Américain ($24): I'm glad we tried it, but now that I have, I don't feel the need to get it again. Good, but I'm not a huge beef tartare gal. - Beets ($17): Good! - Frites with Aioli and Béarnaise ($14): Wow. Every bit as good as they say it is. - Frites with Raclette Service ($14 + $10): Good! Again, glad I tried, but I'm fine with the regular sauces next time. - Maine Sea Scallops ($49 + $10 for extra scallop): Suuuuuper good and rich. The scallops were perfect and the sauce was soooo good. - Chocolate Soufflé ($20): Deeeelish! - Basque Cheesecake ($9): Amazing. The sea salt was such a great touch. For drinks, I got the Encore! Encore! ($15), without the mezcal rinse, and it was fine. My friends got the Génépy Highball ($13) and Second Verse ($13) and liked theirs! Highly recommend! It ended up being $68 per person, without tip. My group of friends plan to make this our birthday celebration spot because of how fun TK made it for us! We can't wait to be back to try more. And to get the Jasper Hill Harbison again because OMG.
Four of us had dinner here Sunday evening.
Here are my honest impressions. Staff was very courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive. Hard to comment on ambiance as we were seated in a corner (not a complaint) and could not appreciate the "big picture". The food was fine. The French onion soup was excellent but not to die for. I knew it was going to be expensive and before tip, the bill was $350. Again, not complaining but be prepared. My biggest gripe was the Old Fashion I ordered. Tasty but wimpy. A cocktail is an integral part of my meal, especially at an upscale venue. Considering the mark up with booze, the drink could have been beefier. Go with the beer. Considering all the restaurants in the Atlanta area, I see no reason to return here. Lots of choices for this price!

Just. Fantastic. From the service down to each aspect of the meal. Wonderfully prepared, flavored, and balanced, and always met with well-presented options by a very knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area, and I will definitely be returning myself.
Very good! Excellent ambiance and service.
Excellent food and drinks. Will be returning!
Disappointing Birthday Dinner
My husband and I used to go to JT Kitchen often and really enjoyed the food and price point! We were bummed when it closed but excited to try Ford Fry's new concept. I took a quick look at the menu the day before and was honestly a bit surprised by the prices. Dover Sole at $70?? We decided to still go try it as it was my birthday and we wanted something special. We started with the brie type appetizer that we ate with the awesome complimentary baguette. It was excellent but be warned - super rich and sugary. It would make a better dessert. For the mains we ordered the Cod and steak frites. The cod was poached perfectly but the beef consume they pour over the top was too heavy and way too salty. This sauce completely overwhelmed the fish. This dish is $38 and comes with only the fish - no potatoes or greens. We ordered the appetizer salad to share. The salad was fine but kind of boring. The Steak Frite dish was good and my husband was happy with it. I concur with the other comments that it was surprising that there were only a few choices of wines by the glass. The wine I chose was okay - again nothing special. The service was good. We ended up just kind of disappointed by this experience. We were expecting more from a Ford Fry restaurant. Maybe he just has too many now to be able to pay attention.
Excellent late night casual French spot in a city that needs more, and has a few delightful surprises.
Lovely hip French decor and food. My experience was quite different from a few who are complaining in previous reviews. An army of very friendly servers, professional, could’ve been more attentive. At one point I had to ask for our server, who seem to be helping on the other side of the room. My wife had the burger with fries and both were extraordinary, even Michelin worthy. Probably the most expensive burger she had so far (at $34) but it surpassed the superior $28 burger she enjoyed at the Four Seasons San Francisco. I am a cacio e pepe addict, so when it’s on the menu, I’m having it. But, instead of the usual pasta and cheese presentation (enjoyed by Roman emperors), they reconstructed the concept into five cheese balls (gnocchi like) which were far too cheesy. Cocktails were excellent. The piece de resistance was their interpretation of an old-fashioned soft serve swirl ice cream with hardened dark chocolate crust. Don’t miss this masterpiece. This is a classy late night spot in a city that needs more late night restaurants.
Romantic French Fare
Wonderful atmosphere with dark paneling and moody lighting and superior service. Not too loud - could easily converse. Large cocktail menu. Good wine menu but not many choices by the glass. The food was good but not great in all instances. The Alleppo Shrimp and Onion Soup were perfect. The dover sole was perhaps undercooked - it had an almost slimy quality, was over-salted, the brown butter flavor was overpowering (needed some acid in my opinion). The "La Vie en Rose" (chopped steak) and the Chicken Schnitzel were tasty but nothing to write home about. Don't leave without ordering the soft serve ice cream with fennel pollen.
Disappointing
I have eaten here twice and will not go back. Red wine was served chilled both times. The second time I pointed it out and the server took it away and then brought the same glass back and told me that I needed to wait for it to warm up. Very limited wine list. Salad was inedible on the first visit because the dressing was so heavy. Ordered dressing on the side on the second visit but salad came with dressing. Halibut was good, bolognaise was good. Poulet was good but the mashed potatoes had an odd gummy texture. Choclate souffle was delicious. Soft serve desert was good but the serving size was huge and made me feel like I was at Cheesecake Factory. Our server seemed nervous and inexperienced. Had looked forward to the opening of Little Sparrow only to be very disappointed.
Not worth the trip or the expense
A beautiful restaurant. Inexperienced server, poor and expensive food. Frites with raclette: soggy fries with some cheese poured over. $24 3 Scallops with caviar. No sign of the caviar. $49 Beef tartare with "parsley salad". Well... a few leaves of parsley. Vegetables almost absent from the menu. We saw the burger, but didn't order it. Ordinary looking. $34? Really!
I really wanted to like this, but improvement in food and service required
This recently opened restaurant is in the space formerly occupied by JCT Kitchen. Ford Fry and team did a great job renovating it and it is unfortunate that at least for now, the food and service do not hit the mark. Cocktails were actually quite good, but for both rounds of our order, we were delivered the wrong drink and twice cocktail runners tried to bring us drinks that were for another table. Bread is very good. Food in general is of good quality but over seasoned across the board. True of steak, true of fish, true of fries. Fries were quite good but bathed in salt. Halibut also clearly high quality but marred by strong broth. French onion soup decent, but arrived luke warm. We ordered dripping potatoes as a side, they were rich but very good, shame they forgot to include in our order and we had to remind them after our mains were delivered and they scrambled and arrived 10 minutes later. Wine list by the glass extremely limited , just 2 options each red and white, when questioned about why so few choices, server said it was to encourage people to order a bottle. Cheese cake and soft serve desserts were fine but average. Overall price point not bad for Atlanta, just a shame quality and service not what was expected. So hopefully these may be early growing pains, but was disappointed in this experience,
