Lobster Pot Restaurant Sarasota Reviews from The Last Year
Lovely place and Good Food
Went for lunch prior to starting our day of shopping. Very cute place, not a huge place but definitely enough seating. We got seated right away and our male server was very attentive and took our orders right away. I ordered the lobster roll with fries which was done really well. Lobster was fresh and not overly smothered in mayo like others make this sandwich. Hubby had a burger and it was very well cooked( medium rare). No complaints would definitely go again.
Delicious
Me and my husband came with our 5 yr old. We were seated immediately and the staff was super nice. He kept checking on us throughout. I ordered the lobster and shrimp cocktail and both tasted amazing. My husband agrees this was his favorite restaurant we tried during our stay .The coke slaw was one of the best and so was the side salad. The salad was one of my favorites in the area. Everything seemed very fresh. We was able to walk to here from our resort.
Rude restaurant
Rude, rude, rude! Do not touch. Called to book and was greeted with very abruft woman who made it clear that large groups are a priority and wasn’t prepared to advise on whether it was worth turning for a table for 2. ‘ Well it’s a weekend’ was all that was said and to make it worse she then hurried me off the line with a ‘was that it?’. Up to you whether you want to go somewhere to be treated like this but my advice is avoid.
Cape cod on Siesta Key.
Was skeptical about Lobster pot due to the kitschy decor that is over the top Cape Cod. We visited for a lunch and had a Lobster Roll (a must if visiting the cape) and the catch of the day sandwich which was red snapper. The modestly sized Lobster Roll, $27.99, was packed with a 1/4 lb of sweet and perfectly prepared lobster. The side veggies in butter was just ok. Catch of the day sandwich was plentiful and well prepared. Nice portion of fries. Very good sangria. While our sandwiches were fairly expensive I did like that they had many more affordable options on the menu. Definitely a good lunch spot and likely worth a visit for dinner.
I've been a happy customer of the lobster pot for over 20
I've been a happy customer of the lobster pot for over 20 years. My favorite dish there is the lobster roll. I am from Massachusetts and I know what a good lobster roll. Is these guys are also from Massachusetts. I also feel like family when I visit I'll be there again and again.
ABSOLUTELY the best lunch! Watermelon salad with grilled
ABSOLUTELY the best lunch! Watermelon salad with grilled salmon. The salad was so fresh and flavorful with perfect salmon! You won't be disappointed in any way.!
My wife and I have visited the "brother" to this resturant
My wife and I have visited the "brother" to this resturant in the Cape and have always remembered it, and to our surprise found this gem today on our trip in Siesta Key Village! The food was incredible just as expected. If you are looking for FRESH and TASTY seafood dishes, you won't miss here. Lobster Ravioli had a flavorful sauce with rich buttery lobster tail for a great price, a deal honestly. The lobster is all from Maine and comes fresh every 2 days. The crab cakes were perfection with great breading and the remoulade sauce had a kick to it. I had the Shore Dinner broiled to perfection shrimp, scallops and fish with two sides and fried clams. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu, very nice. The overall appearance and vibe of the resturant is casual and great old seashore vibes. Would return again! Highly recommend!
OH NO, NOT THE LOBSTER ROLL
We visit the area in Feb most years. This place has always been a favorite go to place for dinner... so why not go there again this year... TERRIBLE food! I ordered the lobster roll and was extremely disappointed. I've never been so disappointed before. The lobster didn't seem to be fresh, was slightly on the rubbery/dry side. Cole slaw left a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry Lobster Pot, just don't know what happened here. Oh & they used to have valet parking, not this year ???
our waitress had no attention to detail or concept of any
our waitress had no attention to detail or concept of any of the menu items. after saying diary and seed allergy, waitress didn't mention the food item with both included (didn't say on the menu). Overly priced, especially for some sandy scallops. After discussing our concerns walked away while still talking, service felt rushed even though they had 3 tables. Manager did come to our table, we expressed our concerns, did not seem to care and walked away while talking. Where we are from this is disrespectful especially at a nice establishment. Not sure if they're up for the touristy action down here.
Every time we come to the Sarasota area, we must stop here!
Every time we come to the Sarasota area, we must stop here! Family owned restaurant that serves the best New England style seafood as well as some authentic Portuguese dishes & wines! Service is top notch! Food is amazing - we highly recommend the Seafood Portugal dinner and their award winning Lobster Bisque with extra lobster chunks added on top! Yum! Lively atmosphere! Friendly staff! Kaitlyn is awesome! Come here once and you will wish you lived closer to it!
Not the best seafood choice in the area.
It was ok. Came with 6, 2 kids. Kids Alfredo was awful and plain. Mussels were good, Blackened mahi was excellent and the salmon Monte Carlo was great. Tight sitting place which is unique and service is great. Cool place in siesta key. Not sure if it’s the best seafood choice.
We ate dinner here on Friday evening.
There was no wait, which made us a little nervous. But as it turned out, the food was awesome. A small basket of cornbread is provided--it was warm and delicious. My wife had the mediterranean salad with a large piece of mahi-mahi on top. Both salad and fish were delicious. I had the fiery pasta dish with shrimp. It was excellent-- spicy, but not too hot, with plenty of shrimp. It came with a piece of garlic toast, which was also very good. The meal was one of the best I've had in a while. The server could've been a bit more attentive, but she was nice and pleasant. Highly recommended.
DONT EAT HERE.
We ordered four broiled lobsters to pickup. They were unevenly cooked because the sizes varied (someone in the kitchen was asleep at the wheel)and one even totally lacked its tail meat! We called to speak with the manager the next day but NEVER received a call back. Clearly poorly managed operation.
Bad Experience not to be repeated.
The Lobster Pot had been recommended by friends, so we went to see what it was about. We ordered the Lobster Grilled Cheese, a bowl of lobster bisque and a bowl of Clam chowder. The soups were okay. The Lobster Grilled Cheese was three slices of white bread with a slice of what tasted like processed cheese between two slices of bread, and between the second slices of bread was some lobster. There were no condiments or additions that could possibly make the sandwich fuller or tasty. It was horrible. And it wasn't a grilled cheese either. It was three over toasted slices of white bread. On the side was a small dish with more melted cheese for dipping, with what tasted like Kraft slices melted in a bowl. There was no flavor at all. If it had anything else in it, it was so small it didn't show or taste. We ate quickly and left, The Lobster grilled cheese was a staggering $28.00, so we expected something much more. All together we paid over $50.00 for one sandwich and two bowls of soup. Never ever again. But Siesta Key is beautiful.
This was a tasty place but a bit overpriced for what you
This was a tasty place but a bit overpriced for what you get. The lobster was good- but not worth the price tag imho. I think it kind of lacked flavor. If you don't mind spending a lot of money then it's alright. I think in retrospect I would have gone elsewhere with my but sometimes you have to try a thing before you know. So you try it and make up your own mind, that's just my experience.
First time dining here.
Quaint restaurant in Siesta Key Village. Service was exceptional. Food was tremendous. Everything from salad to lobster Mac and cheese to the main course a dish containing fried shrimp, scallops, fish, and clams were prepared amazingly well. Even the sangria was very tasty. Would certainly be high on the list to go back again soon. Job well done.
Tasty seafood
We both had broiled seafood platters that came with fried clams. Everything was yummy and we had good service. I recommend this place.
Meh
We had high hopes for the Lobster pot, but ultimately it was a bit of a bust in my opinion. The service wasn't anything to write home about, and I guess market Lobster prices were just so insanely high, that it made it nearly impossible to order almost anything lobster in good conscience. We did try the lobster bisque, which wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing, and not sure it was worth the price tag that came with it. Overall, I don't think it impressed me enough to come back.
A Siesta Key staple
Good food, good service, and it offers a variety of dishes for seafood lovers. We dined here in the past and knew it would be a return visit for us.
Best lobster in town!
This is my favorite spot for lobsters and clams. They also make delicious lobster bisque. Their staff is always very nice, especially Vera. The best lobster in town!
The Real thing
Simply put, if you want real fresh New England seafood, this is where you go. Real fried clams (fresh, not frozen), amazing lobster roll, etc.

I have a reservation for Kasama Chicago I listed but it’s not showing up because the listed opening hours are only until 3 or 4 pm. My reservation is for their dinner service at 5. Is there a way I can change the times myself?
