We came here for a very late lunch since we woke up so late
We came here for a very late lunch since we woke up so late from being jet lagged, but I'm glad they were still serving lunch! I believe it's until 1530. They have a separate lunch menu. I ordered the pot of mussels which was massive!!! I mean, it was def a pot for 2 but I ate most of it by myself. They serve you bread and butter at the beginning so once I got past all the mussels, I took my bread and dipped it in the sauce. Hubby got the 2 course lunch meal which included a halibut carpaccio and the fish special of the day which was monkfish. My hubby said the halibut was one of the best he's ever had. I tried the monkfish and it was very good, local to the region, and is a good meaty white fish. Diced beets were garnished on top, along with roasted potatoes. Overall, an excellent dish. Highly recommend this seafood restaurant along the water!

Since my opinion for a restaurant, Lofoten, Fisker restaurant is so highly value that I would be solicited Ford every time yelp pops up. I'll show you my experience. I walked by this restaurant several times and looked in the window. I've never die in here. Looks like it's a clean, nice place probably a little pricey being that it's on the waterfront in a major walk by pedestrian tourist area. Your guess is as good as mine as far as the food, quality service quality Generally, I've not had bad service at the restaurants in Oslo, but for food that is outside the realm of Norwegian food it can be pretty spotty and out of context to the culture that they're serving food to represent This is out of context with this particular restaurant
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful setting along the waterfront.
However, the service was terrible. After taking our order, our waiter totally ignored us. We had to flag down other staff in order to have our wine served, get additional water, and eventually get the check. The food and especially the wine were good but overpriced. There are so many restaurants in this area, my advice is to opt for one of them.

Said they were booked. Other people served. Very suspicious. Have not had this experience before and is very disappointing.

Delicious find, everything was closed on a Sunday and everything was fresh and tasty, it's a very small and cozy restaurant with a small store within the restaurant. The service was a little slow in the beginning but got better. The restaurant was packed, but we were able to get a table after a 10 min wait. I would definitely come back again!
Be the first to ReplyGreat view and food.
Perfect place to host a business dinner. I recommend the BBQ salmon.
Be the first to ReplyFood wasn't bad.
Luncheon menu is limited. Upon being seated we were told only one of six shellfish offerings was available. Had to wait what seemed an inordinate amount of time for our main course while others who arrived after were served first. Noticed a table of six who ordered the same as us didn't wait nearly as long. When I mentioned to the waitperson the chef certainly liked salt I was told Norwegians like their food salty. I didn't point out we are not tourists and Norwegians certainly do not like anything with any sort of spice. A pleasant spot for lunch on the boardwalk but not worth a second visit. Oh, is cauliflower a spring vegetable? How about artichokes? That was the special, salmon with spring vegetables. The bread was good.

After coming off the ferry from Bygdoy, freezing cold and soggy on a rainy summer day, Lofoten Fiske Restaurant looked appealing. Happily, despite having no reservation, they seated us quickly. I ordered the fish soup with a salad and my husband ordered the lobster gratinée. We were both delighted with our choices! The fish soup is a delicate basil flavored broth, with salmon, scallops and shrimp. Although I am sure the type of fish in the soup depends on the season, mine was filled with my favorites! And the gorgeous light green broth was just delectable. My husband's lobster was impeccably prepared. We had excellent service for the entire meal despite not having reservations! We were not seated next to the window - again, no reservations - but our view of the harbor was still pretty good. I did feel that the wine was poured a little bit skimpy - my sole complaint! It was not inexpensive, but worth every NOK! Highly recommended!
Be the first to ReplyWe went here on a trip to Oslo hoping for a great meal.
There were three of us, and we were all extremely disappointed, especially considering this is in the Michelin Guide...it shouldn't be. It is in a nice location along the water, but that is about it. The food was extremely bland and just not good. The server was nice and the service was decent. If you have a choice, go elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyLofoten Fiskerestaurant offers haute Norwegian seafood.
The food in and of itself is a unique and worthwhile experience. That being said the service at Lofoten is quite poor. Go for the food, but manage your expectations on the service.I've been to Lofoten on a number of occasions. Their seafood is perhaps the best of had anywhere, certainly the best in Norway. Their fish plates are particularly delicious. On my most recent two visits I had Arctic Char and Cod, both were refined and delectable. The fish soup is a must have, it's a dish that Lofoten is particularly known for in Oslo. As previously mentioned, the service at Lofoten leaves much to be desired. My last two experiences left me with a particularly bad taste. I was in Oslo to attend a conference and so I organized a dinner with my colleagues. I made a reservation and we took a group of 18. Lofoten was happy to accommodate such a large reservation. However, when it came time to pay the bill, we were informed the restaurant would only split our tab 3 ways per table. This created an hour long fiasco of figuring out how to split the tab. Keep in mind, in Norway it is standard for restaurants to always accommodate individual bills. I have never had a Norwegian restaurant limit how many ways a bill could be split. Even my Norwegian colleagues were incensed by this demand from the staff, especially considering they made our group order from a menu with reduced options. To add insult to injury, the staff was clearly annoyed that a group of 18 took an hour to divvy up the bill. Then came my second bad experience. I decided to forgive the flap about the bill splitting and went to lunch with a friend before leaving town. It was a weekday at lunch and so the restaurant was not busy. We ordered 3 course meals and some drinks. The first issue came when our server ignored our table for a solid 90 minutes. My friend was annoyed by this and so she went to the Maitre d' to remind them that we were still there and that we hadn't been served our dessert. Once we were served dessert, my friend and I continued to catch up over drinks and coffee and enjoy each other's company. The dinner hour then began and our server approached our table and asked to move us to the bar. My friend and I were appalled by this request. Together we had spent over $200, we had not finished our drinks, we were sitting quietly, the restaurant was not particularly busy, and there was plenty of table space. Moreover, this request came after our server had ignored our table for 90 minutes. We promptly finished our drinks and left in response. The setting of Lofoten is modern and classy. The glass patio of the restaurant offers beautiful views of the Oslo Fjord and the Akershus Festning. The food at Lofoten is world class. I wouldn't hesitate to rate Lofoten a 5-star restaurant were it not for their service. The food is so good that if you're craving authentic and delectable Norwegian seafood you must try it. But don't expect to be treated with the respect of a 5-star restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyLocated on the beautiful Oslo harbor.
3 course meal with a starter of leek soup and smoked salmon. Fantastic. Main was a generous portion of sautéd Arctic char on a bed of veggies. Desert was a firm piece of chocolate mousse with tart crumbly bits, foam and mango sauce. All of it was delicious with great wait service.
Be the first to ReplyI don't understand how this is a Michelin star restaurant.
The waitress was so rude and rushed us the entire time. The food was not good compared to restaurants that are not Michelin starrestaurants. We ordered salmon and it was completely raw and had to be sent back. The halibut was cooked well but it had no flavor. The entire experience was just awful. I recommend you avoid this restaurant at all costs.
Be the first to ReplyService can not be rated as it was not existing .
. . I rarely see such an expensive restaurant with such bad service .The best part of the meal was the bread and butter took about 22 minutes to show up . . The salad that was not on the menu was ok, a bit too salty. The fish was so salty I think the chef is in love big time .I would not come back and you should look somewhere else . . .

Look elsewhere! Although the food was pretty good (my mom cooks good too, you know) and despite the kind and professional service, I'd say that ~$190 for the two of us was way too much in light of our (high!) expectations! In other words, I had far better meals, yet I never paid so much!Bottom line, look elsewhere, you deserve better.

Lofoten is an excellent restaurant for seafood! Had a 4 course meal, each course with its own wine pairing. The pairings were near perform the with each course. The ambiance of the restaurant is luxurious and comfortable. The location is almost right on the water and very enjoyable close to summer solstice. My photos were taken around 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening. Highly recommend trying this place if you find yourself in Oslo city.

Sit harbor side and enjoy lunch or dinner -- the limited menu offers a variety of fish dishes, and a good wine menu. Prices are in line with elsewhere in Oslo (not cheap, but very fresh fish).

**FOOD: very well deserving of its one Michelin star, superb fresh and just excellent food**COST (out of 4$): $$$$**SERVICE: professional courteous, spoke perfect english and could explain everything **DECOR: contemporary modern seafood bistro feel, love that it was on the pier overlooking the water harbour, large beautiful windows went during sunset. Area is vibrant and young and hip**RECOMMEND: YES most definitely recommend. Loved everything we had here. Definitely do the course meals with the wine pairings. Excellent wine.**OUR MEAL: had the 4 course menu which had a shrimp mayonnaise appetizer (good but it was a lot creamier mayonnaise than we expected), Mushroom soup (OMG so so good with a little truffle oil and roe), then had Cod (hmmmmm like butter, so soft and delicately flaked), finished off with a coffee pannacotta (which i thought was ok, basically a flan); Also had the Fish Soup (wow, so good with chunks of salmon), Salmon (perfectly cooked); Duck (was just excellent); Venison (very very good) Had the wine pair and all the wines complimented very well.
Be the first to ReplyMy business partner and I just landed in Norway on a short
My business partner and I just landed in Norway on a short business trip and grabbed lunch here while we waited until we could check into our hotel, and our experience here - particularly that with the attention, service and warm and friendly overall experience that we received from our server, Ajin - has been unreal, to the point where both of us are saying "we love Norway and need to come back with our families." The food is without a doubt some of the best seafood we've both ever had, and our experience with Ajin has been on a whole different level. Can't express how good our first impression has been of Norway, in large part because of the way we've been treated (and "maybe some of the best seafood ever" thing doesn't hurt either). Ajin even threw in on-the-house espresso with blankets outside in a heated lounge by the canal so that my business partner could grab a smoke and we could both sit outside and think "Wow, life is good." Thanks, Ajin (and the restaurant and the rest of its staff)!
