Great location within walking distance. We really wanted to love it but it fell short. Service was good. The food was disappointingly average. We shared a few rolls along with crispy tuna rice and the nachos. Not terrible but not outstanding. The nachos were pretty salty. We wanted dessert but the options were definitely not Asian Fusion. It was very loud - couldn't really hear our own conversation over those at the very close tables on both sides of us. At one point they turned the lights down so much that we thought the power went out- around 7pm. It was crowded and busy-perhaps we had a random off night experience.

To eat I got the snowy mountain and baby kale salad. The snowy mountain was really excellent sushi. There was a slight hiccup in our service but our waitress more than compensated. Overall Lola 42 is a really great classy restaurant!

The BOGO sushi is a good deal but will say the rolls are overpriced for what they are, super small and would not be worth over $100 for 4 rolls if we didn't get BOGO. Nice location right on the water but not anything that I would go out of my way to go again. I feel i'd rather get better priced and curated rolls elsewhere even if it's a bit pricier than the bogo

A seaport staple! It's always a fun vibe inside with low lights and music. I really enjoy their Anata, maruko and snowy mountain rolls. The lobster fried rice is great to share if you have a group. The only con is if it's busy the drinks can take a very long time to come out so just be aware of that if in a rush!

I'm not sure about this place; the venue was packed with people and super super loud, with club music blaring from speakers all around the space. Was this a restaurant, or a nightclub? Or a restaurant trying to be a nightclub! And it was so dark, it's hard to see the food. I think I burned off half my phone lightbulb reading the menu and trying to see the food. The chirashi roll had a decent texture; unfortunately the fish overall wasn't very flavorful, and neither was the rice. The texture on the rice was mostly okay, but also not flavorful enough, and not enough vinegar in the sushi rice. The salmon roe on top of this roll was really good, perhaps the one saving grace on the dish. The yuzu flavor was nice and provided some freshness to the bite, but the avocado was not as fresh as it should have been. The crab cakes were decent, but maybe a bit salty, and the outsides of the crab cake were too flat and not textured enough on the fried bits. The inside seemed somewhat mushy, despite the fact that there seemed to be enough crab in the inner fillings. The scallop sashimi was again decently textured, but I couldn't actually taste any seafood flavor in the sashimi. The Spanish garlic shrimp was one of the better dishes on the menu; the shrimp had a nice bouncy bite to it, and while again the flavor was somewhat lacking, the cook on the shrimp seemed quite decent. The chopped salad was also quite good, with a mix of different textures and an interesting dressing to go along with it. The chickpea, cucumber, and onion provided a nice respite to the romaine lettuce, a lot of which was prepped really well (small bites, appropriate to the size of the other elements). The Cap'n Jose sushi roll had some decent, but also some lacking elements; the salmon was supposed to be spicy, but it definitely wasn't spicy at all; in fact it was hardly distinguishable from the salmon that lay on top of the roll. The kiwi was an interesting choice, and the black tobiko that lay in the middle of the kiwi slice worked really nicely as it looked like kiwi seeds! The flavoring on the tobiko was strong too. The sesame aji mirin aioli was interesting as a concept, but it was hard to taste the sesame. The star of the meal was the dessert: basque cheesecake (idiazabal cheese, butter crumb, lemon, pistachio gelato) with a variety of textures and flavors to delight the palate. The cheesecake was baked so that it wasn't utterly too dense, the butter crumb and lemon were nicely textured to contrast the softness of the cheesecake, and pistachio gelato was neat because it contained a crunchy interior with a ice cream exterior. Not quite sure how they managed that. The service was also really stellar; the server kept asking if we needed stuff, was helpful and friendly and clear regarding specials of the day, and other servers kept replenishing water. Prices are high for what you're eating; but perhaps it's really to cover the nightclubby atmosphere! But hey maybe I'm not the target clientele as the place was packed.

Found this restaurant online with mixed reviews. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. I went there for a late lunch on my own and had the choice of a seat inside by the window or one outside overlooking the water. The service was great……not too slow but not annoyingly all over you. I had the specialty sushi rolls and shrimp bao buns. Both were excellent paired with rose wine. Couldn’t fault it. The decor was also beautiful.
View could have been better next to the windows. Hostess was rude. Waitress was amazing and food was good
King crab roll was very good and fresh. The Bao bun was good too. The other rolls were stale. Old ingredients. They “punished us” in the corner, even though they had lots of open tables. Not sure why the hostess was so rude.
Tasty Sushi and Lobster
This was a great spot for Sushi and lobster. We enjoyed the staff and the service. The food was very tasty and the lobster was delicious. We ate our way through Vermont into Maine and Ended in Massachusetts. Worth the trip and the time. Thanks

We went as a group after our conference and had awesome drinks and delicious small plates. We really enjoyed the lacquered ribs, the pork belly, and the various sushi rolls.

Yes I was on a date. Yes I payed for both of us, even the drinks. Yes it was expensive. Yes it was everything I expected. If you don't eat at high class establishments often please do not start with this one. I noticed some children hanging around wearing baseball caps which is not allowed per the website. If you want to enjoy the food of establishments like Lola 42 you must must must follow the proper dress attire! The staff is respectful as expected but did not help in dimming the lights over my table. I am often worried that others will notice my slight fidgets such as tapping my fork on the table. I do not like when the lights are bright and can show this ugly habit of mine. Sometimes I wonder if I judge others too much such as when I mentioned the childish baseball caps. I don't want to be judged for my fidgets, why do I just them so much?

Great service, food and interior design! I love coming here with my boyfriend or a group of friends. They can accommodate everyone's needs and all the waitstaff is incredibly attentive. Recently came again with 5 other girls and had the best time. Our waiter even took group pictures for us! Will come again (hopefully for the BOGO Sundays!)

But, you really can't go wrong with stopping by here any time of day. The vibrant atmosphere and chic decor create the perfect setting for any occasion. The bar, has an extensive selection of cocktails and attentive bartenders, which adds a lively energy to the place. The staff at Lola 42 are not just service providers; they elevate the entire dining experience with their warmth and professionalism. Now, let's talk about the mac and cheese--it's phenomenal. Cheesy, nutty, buttery, indulgent, and loaded with flavor, the pasta has the perfect consistency with a crispy breadcrumb like topping. It's a must-try that keeps me coming back for more. Lola 42 serves a wide array of Asian fusion food options, and everything on the menu is pretty darn good. Love this spot!

Food was very subpar. We had ordered crab Rangoon, bulogi noodles, lobster fried rice and a salad. Drinks were good, nothing out of the average/ordinary. I would return only for the ambience and not for the food. The service staff was very attentive and helpful.

While it was a pricey menu, the food exceeded our expectations and left us satisfied. We started the night off with a crab Rangoon appetizer which was delicious. We also tried the Chirashi Maki, Maruko, and Asahi rolls which impressed us both. The fish was fresh and the sushi was rolled to perfection. If you're looking for a nice dinner/experience consider Lola 42. Hats off to the chef.

I'm dating myself, but if LoLa 42 were a comic strip character, it would be Snoopy as Joe Cool. Attitude, ambivalence with a thick layer of ironic affectation. Our server showed up in jeans and a tank top, perhaps on her way to grab Shake Shack take out on the way home from her Econ class - this was after we sat for 10 mins wondering which of the staff standing around would actually acknowledge our presence. I honestly thought she was a busser. The food is solid - small portions and objectively high prices (we live in Scottsdale), but the service is one where, as a patron, you're made to feel like the server is doing you a favor by acknowledging the table to go over the menu and take your order. Also, as mentioned by other reviewers, there is an orchestrated effort to inflate bills through the bar. Want a gin & tonic? They used Monkey 47 to boost the bill without asking. Do they use Stagg for whiskey sours or 1942 for margaritas? Shady at best, borderline criminal. To add insult to injury, we had a birthday celebration in which they customized the menus (nice touch), and they charged him for the dessert. Stay away unless you like lighting $100 bills on fire.

Stopped in for lunch on the recommendation of a friend. Really good craft cocktails- Would highly recommend the sushi Some of the best I've had. Service was lacking even though there was no one in there... everyone on the floor seemed unhappy/did not like their job. Would give another try if ever in the area.

Celebrated my friends bday and I felt lucky to have had karli as our waitress. I had been once before about w year ago and told my friend how great it was. I was worried since she'd never been maybe I talked it up too much. Nope! Karli reassured me instantly I had made the right choice of bringing her there. Thank you! The staff from the beginning with booking for a bday were extraordinary. I can't wait to come back ASAP Thank you all for making us feel so happy welcomed. I love this place so much! I am a huge sushi lover but my boyfriend is vegetarian -- there are plenty of options for him (he loves the Vegan burger!). The cocktails are really well-balanced but strong and the vibe is this special darkly lit/sexy mood!

We went here after work and were quickly seated and served. It's a really cool restaurant and I'd definitely recommend checking it out. I do wish I had gotten the Mac and cheese because it looked so good but we were in the mood for the sushi. A little pricey but def worth it!

First time trying Lola 42 in the Seaport and it most certainly surpassed my expectations. I will most certainly be coming back. Loved the vibe, food, and the service was exceptional. Everything we ordered off the menu was to die for! We tried two sushi rolls, poke tacos, and a starter salad with some signature cocktails- everything was 10/10. You will not go wrong with ordering anything here. It was amazing!

While living in the Seaport and visiting Nantucket, I've been to Lola restaurants over 50 times in the last two years. Food was good, drinks are great. Extremely expensive and usually understaffed but it was super convenient. The family went today and our waitress recommended the bulgolgi. It was so spicy that it was inedible so I sent it back. While the menu noted it was spicy, it was so spicy I could only have a few bites. Waitress came back saying it was my fault for ordering an item that was spicy! She said there was nothing they could do and that I hate more than half of it (this was not true!)! She said they can't remake it and can't take it off the bill. I sat with no food, left starving and embarrassed that the waitress told me off in front of the family. I've never felt so embarrassed at a restaurant and will not be returning to any Lola establishments. Im shocked that this is how they treat their customers. I really did love going for their drinks but it's not worth going to a place that makes you feel stupid while paying top dollar.

Lunchtime review- The ambiance was nice, for the location I was expecting a bit more but over all it was decent . The location is beautiful, right by the waterfront making it a great spot for a nice date night . Food- I am basing my review on a single visit. The food was good, it had a nice kick and good flavor. The portion was satisfying . I definitely want to go back to check out the dinner menu and vibe, not sure how soon, but I'll be back.

This restaurant is in the Seaport. The setting is nice with water views, and lunch service was quick and friendly. Our food was very good too.

Played fun music inside as it got later. The bistro food was pretty good (solid B) and sushi was meh..nothing special. Incredibly over priced and for what? If it were half the price I'd consider going back but at 18-20+ for a drink and mediocre, small portioned sushi? I'll go elsewhere. So many other options.

It has a small patio. We were able to sit on the patio without reservation. We tried their sushi and everything tastes great. Our server was nice.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at LoLa 42 Boston to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at LoLa 42 Boston!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
