Good, authentic feeling Thai place.
Great addition to the area, especially since there aren't many good Asian options. This one hits the spot. It's got a heavy "street food" vibe and setting. The crowd skews younger as a result. There's only outdoor seating (either on the sidewalk or on the side of the building that has a covering). No indoor seating. The food is elevated and higher quality than I expected. We got the steamed shrimp dumplings (just normal shumai that you can get elsewhere. I'd skip it), crispy duck salad (very good and flavorful), and spicy calamari salad (also quite good with good spice). For our entrees, we got the crab and pork dry noodles (quite tasty. My wife commented that she's only seen that dish in 1 other Thai restaurant, so it must pretty legit, and it was great.) and a chicken curry (a bit too sweet for us even though we asked for it to be super spicy). 4 star type of place on Yelp for me. Total bill was $100 for 2 ppl with 2 beers.

Food was ok, service staff was very rude and rushed us the entire time, couldn't enjoy anything. Never again, not worth it at all. Who gaf about a Michelin star this much really?

The best food in calle 8 is not cuban, it is thai ! Yeap believe it or not this modest street food thai spot has everyone crazy about it . They are a little bit pretentious in terms of booking ahead (so they don't take any reservations), and they also are very strict in terms of ordering one time only , but it is designed that way so they can serve the most amount of people in the limited space of the area. So yes, you need to put up with the rules if you would like to enjoy their unique flavoring. We inmediately went with the Roasted Baby Back Ribs , they were crispy and the sauce spiced up the flavoring, but it didn't have that much meat in it, so disappointing. The crispy fried oyster mushroom sauce appetizer definitely took over the ribs as a winner appetizer. The dipping sauce was on point and fried to the point to hear it crack with every bite. The best dish was waiting for us, the khao soi--a bowl of egg noodles in a golden curry that tastes the way a hot shower feels. Get it with braised beef ! The crispy noodles are the cherry on the top! Delicious in every sense. Their classic pad thai is also very legit . Fresh in flavor and combines all the right condiments. To wrap up the main entrances, we included a crab fried . Well balanced but missing a lot of crab meat in it. Be prepared to pay the old fashion way, they don't accept apple pay. Overall an unexpected experience in Little Havana . It reminded me to the Seinfield episode of the soup nazi because of their strict ordering system, service, and their quick paced ambiance.
Be the first to ReplyI loved going to Lung Yai for the quality of the food.
However, the service is a reason why I probably won't be back. We were seated and ordered our food and we were still enjoying the food when the rude waiter asked us to rush... I had never been asked to rush in a restaurant before and we were honestly not there for long. It was irritating and the food does not make up for the bad service. People wait outside to then be seating and be rushed through their meal because they don't care about providing good service. What a shame!

easily my favorite Thai place in Miami! they don't take sit down reservations, but the food is well worth the wait. Khao Soi is an absolute must try, and we also loved the ribs and dumplings on our most recent visit!! note that you can only put in one food order for the table, but this rule doesn't apply to drinks!

Only complaint you can only order once ! ( I understand why they do this, so just make sure you order everything you want!) Great dining experience at Lung Yai! Place is fast paced, food comes out fresh and hot. Ambiance is typical Thai restaurant with the lights and clean place. They never let your water run dry (sooo important and hospitable ) Need to knows: you walk up and put your name on a list, the earlier your arrive the less wait (depending on the day) and stick around bc they just yell your name. You can only order once (all food, apps, and etc)! Small establishment but great food!! We ordered: shrimp dumplings, spring rolls, 5 wings, coconut noodle plate (forgot the name) and clean noodles with chicken

Great authentic Thai food, service is always fast because of the one order concept. Music is loud, it's like your are eating street food in Bangkok.

Be the first to ReplyI recently had the delightful experience of dining at Lung
I recently had the delightful experience of dining at Lung Thai, a restaurant that had been on my radar for months, thanks to a recommendation from a fellow foodie. From the very first bite, I found myself regretting eating that I hadn't visited this gem sooner. Tucked away in a cozy corner, Lung Thai boasts an unassuming yet inviting ambiance. The indoor dining area is quaint, complemented by sidewalk seating . Every dish not only met but often exceeded my expectations. The service was great and my server was not only attentive but also took the initiative to offer recommendations, enhancing my dining experience. It's worth noting that the restaurant has a policy where orders are placed all at once, with no room for additions after the fact--thankfully, this rule generously excludes drinks. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. Fortunately, arriving early worked in my favor, allowing me to secure a spot right in front of the restaurant. Given the restaurant's size and popularity, I opted for lunch, since I have been told that there can be a long wait for the dinner crowd. In conclusion, my visit to Lung Thai was nothing short of spectacular. It's a place I find myself eagerly looking forward to returning to--hopefully much sooner rather than later.

Lung Yai gets 5 stars from me because their Khao Soi dish is that good. The other dishes that I have had there have also been good, but some had not been standouts. The restaurant itself is tiny, there's a few seats inside and a few outside. Do yourself a favor and order the Khao Soi. You won't regret it!
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite thing is the duck salad and the beef pad Thai.
.... can't forget pork steamed dumplings this place has great service and food is amazing!!!! The ambiance is nice it gives a chill vibe while on the weekend they have music and lights to spice up the mood. If you like stir fry or just want to try something different that has amazing taste and different sauces hit this spot. It's a must try.

I absolutely adore this place! The food is simply incredible, and the service is both speedy and friendly. It's no surprise they've earned a Michelin star - they truly deserve it. Without a doubt, it's the finest and most authentic Thai cuisine you'll find in South Florida!
Be the first to ReplyI am addicted to this place.
I have to go once a week. I love several items from the menu, the coconut soup , the mushroomsthe Pad Thai is the best I have web had. By far the best Thai food in town
Be the first to ReplyThis was some of the best Thai food I have ever had.
The restaurant is very small so be prepared to have to wait a little. Fortunately they make you order everything at once so it moves quickly. All of the food was absolutely delicious and great for sharing. Highly recommend!!

I'm from California where we have excellent food from every Asian country. Food was average. Tables & chairs rickety & uncomfortable. Service very poor including the owner who was blatantly rude. Many restaurants are busy - that's no excuse for a hostile dismissive attitude toward customers.

2.35I heard a lot of hype about this place. It looks like a hidden gem, and I was excited about it!The bench we were sitting on was "dancing," because you had to sit together on it with other guests, but still better than other seating, which are folding small chairs. They are uncomfortable and shaky/unstable, both for you and your food. The floors are dirty, and overall, it doesn't look hygienic. And if you sit outside, I feel even worse for you.Starting with Crispy Rolls, which came cold in the middle, but after addressing that, they replaced it, which was fair. All in all, average Thai food, nothing special."One-time order" is there for fast $$$$ turnaround and so they can get rid of you fast. "Trying to accommodate everyone" is a lame excuse. I never saw that in my life. I don't understand how that is acceptable in the hospitality business. Ultimately kills customer satisfaction, experience, and enjoyment We felt rushed, plus the obnoxiously loud music makes you leave faster.18% gratuity included for poor and unfriendly service; not all of them, some guys from the kitchen are nice. The portions were small and expensive.Food was okay but nothing special, but four people left hungry after spending $137.Not worth a 30-minute wait, and I see some people wait even more.I don't understand how people say this is "the best Thai in Miami." Did you ever have Thai?I was really hoping this to be a gem, a hole in a wall, but I can't lie to you...

I can't believe it took me so long to try this amazing place. I ordered take out because I like nearby and the flavor was absolutely wonderful. Will be back!
Be the first to ReplyFood 3 Service 0If you're reading this, stop and look up
Food 3 Service 0If you're reading this, stop and look up Ricky Thai Bistro which has much better AUTHENTIC Thai food that will hang with the best in Bangkok, and infinitely better service. This food is not authentic-- it's below average when compared to the best, genuine Thai. Which, conveniently, is 25 minutes away at Ricky's.The food quality varies. Papaya salad was mediocre. Tom Kha was good not great. The chicken noodle dish was the best thing. The service: some of the worst I've experienced. The owner is truly rude. I tried to add an item to our meal and he shouted at me that I could only order once, no additions "one-time order."So I said "one time order one time visit." He replied "want the check now?"If you hate the service you're stuck paying the 18% included gratuity. Also - no fresh fish on the menu.So run, don't walk, to Ricky Thai Bistro. Much much better food, and great, warm service. If it's Sunday and Ricky is closed, skip Thai for the night.
Be the first to ReplyFor Thai food, this place is undoubtedly a must-try.
The panang curry and pad Thai were delicious and had a very homey flavor, which I really liked. Despite the restaurant's small size, the quality of the food speaks for itself. My favorite item I tried was their house-made sake with passion fruit. You have to order everything at once because it's a one-time order type of place, which is the only reason I didn't give it five stars. We definitely left wanting more because I was unaware that the amounts were modest.

I'll admit I was skeptical walking up to this place since you're basically sitting outside in the alley but everything seemed clean and the food was very good. Service was fast and prices were very reasonable compared to what I normally spend dining out in Miami.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is great.
Tried the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Som Tam, and fried pork dumplings. Flavor was excellent for every dish. We got take out and it was ready quickly and exactly as ordered. The pricing is very reasonable as well. Pleasantly surprised. We'd definitely come back.

Don't forget you only have one round of ordering. Choose wisely
