I left my car at the Valet.
They returned my keys without my key chain. First they tried to blame it on me. Then they magically found the broken key chain, but refused to refund me or buy a new one. This reflects really badly on the restaurant and does not live up to their standards!
Be the first to ReplyWe are locals that spent a weekend staycation here.
Location is great next to Brickell and downtown with easy access to Miami Beach. However, the hotel is very old, feels old, and is in need of renovations (which I believe are happening within the next year). We didn't take advantage of the amenities (probably would have if we weren't locals) and spent most of our time at the pool, which at least had a nice view of the bay and downtown skyline. I honestly remember more cons than pros (one elevator was down which caused a long delay; the hostesses at La Mar gave us a brunch menu to look at but didn't tell us that it was actually not available bc they were closing soon - weird but OK). I did like the tea we were offered at check-in and the concierge service through WhatsApp. But nothing standout about our experience.

Enter Year of the Dragon ~ What a splendiferous place to reunite with local and out-of-state friends to kick off our food festival birthday aquatic theme celebration weekend here! I've always enjoyed every stunning Mandarin Oriental location I've visited in the past. I would expect nothing less of the Lunar New Year prosperity decor and spectacular Miami Biscayne Bay waterfront night skyline views at Mandarin Oriental Miami. We enjoyed Peruvian dinner at La Mar by Gaston Acurio inside the hotel where my event industry friend has done business at this venue. If only we had more time before our next destination of the evening. I would happily return here for relaxing drinks in the sleek lounge or catch a sunset the next time we are in this Magic City.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely not a 5 start hotel.
Everything is old and outdated with a weird smell outside by the water. The rooms looked like a best western hotel room. We checked out immediately and asked for a refund. They even admitted they are closing down for a few years to update it. Why charge so much and advertise it as a 5 star hotel when it clearly isn't?! I had booked a spa day before check in and it was definitely not a 5 star spa day experience. I couldn't wait to get out. Very disappointing!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful hotel.
As many times I've visited, for work or personal pop ins, the quality is superb. Located on the more private brickell key, it's a nice, safe area to get away.
Be the first to ReplyI will quite literally never stay anywhere else in Miami.
This hotel is TOP TIER. Everything was perfect and I mean, literally everything. I am the pickiest person ever and I found nothing wrong. The food, amazing. The private beach, and the food and drink service. Amazing. The spa, I had the best facial and massage. I came with my boyfriend for my 28th birthday. He had to work and stayed in the room most of the days, but got water sent up to him almost immediately when he called. Ice. Anything he wanted. The view from the deluxe veranda room. Amazing. Beautiful view of Brickell. I wouldn't change my experience for the world. Service was phenomenal. Great job.

The hotel is great overall, and this magnificent five-bedroom penthouse encompasses the entire top floor of the Mandarin Oriental, Miami, bringing the essence of five-star luxury to Brickell Key. Featuring a private infinity pool, high-energy bayside restaurant and exotic day spa, the hotel offers a taste of Asian serenity in sun-drenched Miami. Now that I'm here again, I still like it so much. You can see the beautiful river view from the hotel lobby. The hotel rooms all have a small terrace. I went here once in the summer and it was great. I recently got back from Miami and was so busy with work that I forgot to comment until now.
Be the first to ReplyBest Hotel in Miami for sure!! Location is amazing!
Best Hotel in Miami for sure!! Location is amazing! Breakfast is definitely the best i ever saw in a Hotel. The Bar in the Hotel has nice views and amazing stuff!! Very friendly professional and overall great service experience. The only thing what is not really good is the service at the pool bar. Very slow and lazy there, but i stay with the 5 stars cause the whole other experience is extraordinary. Rooms are big and have a nice view and terrace.

I'm from Los Angeles, California and went for a 4 day mini vacation with my bf this past weekend . And what can I say . I was very impressed with everything. The service was amazing by everyone , the room was beautiful with an amazing view , the food was great . We left yesterday and we went to the spa and my bf loved it . The bartender George was amazing too . I would highly recommend the hotel definitely will be back soon .
Be the first to ReplyThe hospitality is truly unbeatable.
They hold every single door open, make a effort to remember your name, and truly make you feel welcomed. 10/10 with valet, concierge, business event coordinators. Toured the meeting rooms for a company and they welcomed me so much. Wouldn't let me move a finger, they were so generous. They knew what to say and always wanted to show me more. I went to the East in Brickell before to tour the meeting rooms and the concierge said no and did not make a effort. She did not let me talk to business coordinator or anyone. Love you Mandarin. Worth the price. Best view and service.
Be the first to ReplyWords cannot express how much I adore this place.
The hospitality at this hotel is absolutely best in class, all staff on premise is absolutely wonderful. They currently have their Chinese New Year which is just stunning from the moment you walk through the door. If you are ever in Miami, the Mandarin will take amazing care of you.

At first, I didn't even plan on doing anything for my birthday, and then somehow ended up booking a trip to Miami because it was only right that I brought in the last year of my 20s the right way. I went ahead and booked a solo trip without a plan, wanted to let the universe guide me, & let all the great experiences gravitate towards me. I could not have asked for a better time and Mandarin Oriental was such an integral part of a successful, spontaneous trip. My goodness, where to start?Even before I visited/landed in Miami, I was in contact with Mia via email. She made sure that she was always there when I had a question or concern. I love that this hotel is on its own island, away from the craziness that Miami has to offer. The moment you ride up to the hotel, service is on point. Check in was seamless. Theo, you were amazing @ the front desk & I wish you so much success in your endeavors. Hospitality is the perfect fit for you & I can't wait to see you rise to the top of the hospitality ladder. I stayed in the Deluxe Veranda King room with a gorgeous view of the water & you can see the beautiful apartment buildings across as well. But let's talk about the fact that I actually did some online shopping, had some items shipped directly to MO, and my package was right there for me on the counter! They also left me a beautiful birthday dessert that I enjoyed for a bit. I made my way down to MO Bar & Lounge and wow. Alex and Victor, you guys are nothing short of amazing, but especially Victor who made sure to make my birthday very special. He came to me with recommendations on how to make my stay worthwhile (places to visit, etc) & they also sent over a sweet bday dessert. The rest of the staff were great as well. You can tell they love their jobs and work super hard to provide impeccable service to all customers and guests. The bar made me not want to leave the hotel at all because I just felt like I had everything I needed. Good food, good drinks, plenty of laughs, and making new friends. I won't lie, I felt like I pretty much lived at the bar, lol. I even spent time at the bar on my birthday after having dinner at La Mar (which was splendid) & I was able to catch the pianist perform. He found out it was my birthday and dedicated a special song to me (and also sent over a birthday dessert). A song that was so beautiful & made me feel a few deep emotions (but happy emotions). I'll never forget that, thank you Francisco. I absolutely *love* the piano, so this made my heart incredibly happy. I also had lunch at the pool's bar and I want to give a special thank you to Jorge who also made sure my stay and birthday was special. Jorge went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and satisfied with my time by the pool. They also gave me a special birthday dessert. My stay was just full of birthday goodness! I spent some time in the pool, and thankfully there weren't that many people in there, I had it all to myself. One thing I must mention is the fact that I *loved* how any time I left my room and came back, I knew room service made sure the room was like new. They treated me / my room in a way that I actually hadn't been treated before. They were extremely attentive to me and my needs, and I deeply appreciated that. Now, the hotel is on an island which means you *do* need a car to get out of the place, but it's not 100% necessary. You can walk out and cross the bridge (this bridge is very walkable, btw) on a good day and take yourself on adventure; I sure did (and glad I did because I met a few really cool folks). Mandarin Oriental completely exceeded my expectations, and I don't even know if I had any. They make it hard to want to stay anywhere else any time I visit Miami again. I hope I'm not missing anything in my review. It was just so good and so many things happen in only just a few days. We'd be here for days but I want us on topic and only talk about MO.A million times, thank you to the incredible staff @ MO. I will never forget this birthday & I can't wait to be back soon! PS: Unfortunately, Yelp won't allow me to post any videos, so I'll have to omit some of what I can post but I hope the pics I do provide are satisfactory!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful view.
Helpful employees. Good housekeeping. Reasonably comfortable room. Only issue was the loud music at night.

We stayed here for a quick weekend in Miami, and were not disappointed. The views from this hotel were beautiful, customer service was top notch, and the food and beverage quality were top tier. The only complaint we had was the wait times. Make sure you aren't in a rush when ordering room service, or drinks at the bar because nothing comes fast! Besides that, we loved the experience and would definitely stay here again.
Be the first to ReplyI could not be more happy with my stay here.
Every single staff member goes above and beyond for you, it's truly the best hotel hospitality I've ever experienced. The rooms are a great size and extremely clean. Beds are comfortable. Great mini fridge selections. I definitely look forward to coming back here in the future!

Absolutely outstanding service and experience at the Mandarin Oriental Miami! We had a mini staycation here this past Labor Day.Check-in was prompt and courteous. Although we were advised our room wasn't ready upon checking in, we went to the lobby bar and ordered drinks and a burger. By the time we received the burger, our room was ready. That should have been 20 to 30 minutes tops stops. Sooo nice after a long road trip.Lobby BAR: Excellent cocktails for very reasonable prices. We tried their burger from the bar menu, which was too plain. It really was missing some sort of aioli or cheese. Fries were crunchy and delicious though. My Old Fashioned was strong and proper. My husband really enjoyed his Nasty... something! I forgot! It was a spin on the margarita, but with a hint of jalapenos and nutmeg dust. SUITE: Our bay view king room/suite was impeccable. Gorgeous views from the 12th floor, comfortable bed, spacious, clean, and beautiful bathroom as well. The only downside of the spacious balcony is that it isn't private at all. There's a see-through screen divider between all balconies on the floor. Bummer. Still, we enjoyed watching the skyline and the boats passing by. Beautiful sunset from there too.POOL: Too small for the size of the hotel, in my opinion. It fell crowded during the day. Hard to find a shaded lounger or a lounger at all. We had to move toward the private "beach" area, which you access by exiting the property through a gate by the hot tub, cross a trail part of an adjacent park, and walk into another gated area that is part of the hotel. We absolutely loved that "beach" area though! Too bad there isn't a small plunge pool there as well to spread patrons (and so we can all enjoy a pool time as well). It was full of beautiful palm trees, a great view of the skyline and bay. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the mega yachts passing by while relaxing on a double lounger under the shade of some palm trees.BREAKFAST: Ohhhh, sooo good! We enjoyed it at the outdoor dining area that is part of La Mar restaurant. We chose the $39 buffet, which had excellent dishes such as made-to-order omelets, relat fixings [scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, accoutrement of cheeses and fruits, cereals, etc. ], homemade granola and waffles, and even free-flowing, French press Illy coffee. We got it for free and only had to pay a little over $10 for gratuity after the credit applied thanks to our American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts reservation. DINING: We also enjoyed the La Mar restaurant for dinner, and it was FABULOUS. It only took 20 minutes from sitting to receiving our app *and* main entrees! Outstanding service, excellent portions, and unique Peruvian fusion flavors. Our only complaint is the early 2010's top 40 playlist that completely RUINED the ambience. Terrible. They should have chill lounge music as they at the pool or, even better, play some relaxing Latin tunes. Unfortunately, we did not have time to try out their spa. We did look at their menu and they had so many great treatments! We hope to try it on our next visit. So happy we are Florida natives and this fabulous hotel is only 4 hours away from us. It was truly a treat and will definitely consider it for future staycations. We loved our stay despite the few snags here and there. We are Mandarin Oriental fans now! Such a great first experience.

Be the first to ReplyThis is a Marriott - an overpriced Marriott with Mandarin
This is a Marriott - an overpriced Marriott with Mandarin badges. The location is nice and so are the views if you want to be downtown. The staff are nice but most are zombie-like, slowly reading from scripts they tried to memorize. The upgrades are stingy and awkward. The breakfast is Marriott Courtyard or whatever those sterile 3 star properties are called. The waiter brought a dangerously chipped cracked glass. Moving rooms was challenging. Virtually everything is old, cheap, and marginal. I am used to Mandarin properties where your check in process is elegant. This one took a long time and everything was in apathetic slow motion. No one cares; everyone is dazed. There is no passion, no pride or brand. Mandarin, you have become a random, sterile chain that charges for internet unless you give up your email and fill out dumb forms. Wi-Fi does not work in the room. Staff are not familiar with amex contract. It's sad. It's very sad.
