Meduza Mediterrania proved to be the perfect setting for
Meduza Mediterrania proved to be the perfect setting for celebrating a special birthday. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and efficiently seated, thanks to our reservations. Our waitress guided us through the menu, suggesting a tasting style dinner that would allow us to experience a variety of flavors. Our culinary journey began with a stunning seafood tower, showcasing high-quality seafood presented with elegance. Each bite was a testament to the freshness and skill of the kitchen. As the evening unfolded, our table was graced with a steady flow of delicious dishes. The spiced prawns, lamb chops, hummus, and pita were bursting with flavor, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. For the main course, we indulged in steak, cacio e pepe, grilled branzino, and chicken milanese. Each dish exceeded expectations, with impeccable quality and attention to detail evident in every bite. Yet, it wasn't just the food that left a lasting impression. The ambiance of the restaurant, with a violinist serenading guests and exquisite architectural details, added an extra layer of magic to the evening. In summary, Meduza Mediterrania offers more than just exceptional food and service--it provides an immersive dining experience that delights the senses and creates cherished memories.
Be the first to ReplyI have a mixed feeling about this place.
The place and decor made the place look fancier than it actually is. There's a doorman outside opening the door for everyone walking in, hostesses in nice dresses, and a bathroom attendant handing your paper towel. There is a large bar area for people without reservation or waiting for their tables. The decor and setup of the restaurant give a feeling of a high end restaurant...but the service and food do not reflect that. Hostesses are somewhat cold, not very friendly. The bathroom attendant does expect you to tip as well... Food is just ok. Some dishes are fine and some are not very tasty and the price is definitely way overpriced for the mediocre dishes. Lychee rose: 7/10. it's cute and tasty. Wagyu Carpaccio: 9/10. Best dish of the night. The appetizer is very flavorful. Very tender and every bite is full of flavor. My friend and I like it a lot. Salmon: 8/10. the salmon is not over cooked and the sauce is flavorful. Dover sole: 3/10. The most expensive dish of all is the least tasteful. We were very disappointed with the dish . Crispy Brussels sprout:1/10. Not crispy at all. Somewhat hard to chew. Flavor is somewhat sweet. No wow factor. All the main courses don't come with veggie so you have to order a side if you want some veggie. Wild berry butter cake: 3/10. This was highly recommended by our waitress but it's just meh. The portion was big. The crust with the ice cream was ok. The cake itself is mediocre. Nothing special at all. We both felt like the waitress was kinda pushy. Keeping asking us if we're ready to order, drink and then food. While we were eating the dessert, she already put down the check on our table, without us asking for it. While we were still talking, she came over again and asked if we were ready for the check. We both agreed, for the service and overpriced food, we don't think we'd come again.
Be the first to ReplyFine dining prices but cafeteria food.
Nothing is fresh or warm enough. Everything is too salty and sweet. The ambiance is good, but they need to focus more on fundamentals rather than their social media appearance. Additionally, they have inconsistent dress code enforcement. The first time we went, we were turned away because my husband wore sneakers. But I see many people wearing sneakers with no problem getting in. I hate to say it, but I felt discriminated. Overall the manager and hostess were all snobby. They are creating unnecessary waiting time at the bar even though the tables are empty and we arrive close to our reservation time. They have so many staffs but most of them seem inexperienced and not attentive.

Guard outside and manger have me a hard time regarding my dressy Vince pants that look for them like a sweatpants. Since I came for an occasion one of the big manager let us in. Funny thing is that people get in with sneakers, jeans shorts and Mini dresses that are very trashy! Ambiance was great and service was great! Waiter was super friendly. Lychee drink was terrible so we end up with just wine. Food was just OK and super expensive.

DON'T GO HERE! My friends and I were kicked out because one friend, whose birthday we were celebrating, was wearing leggings - along with an expensive blazer and Chanel bag. It was humiliating and illogical. She was told she could go to theory around the corner and buy a pair of pants. Ridiculous! Another woman was also kicked out for wearing the wrong pants and was screaming at the hostess. I'm not sure who they think they are, but I know the restaurant won't last long if they continue to treat customers that way. I would leave a negative star, but Yelp makes you choose at least one.

This place charged my card twice after I paid through the inkindly app. I sat at the bar. The bartender ran my card without my permission when I only asked for the bill. Completely unacceptable because he asked if I want to put a card to hold tab. I was with others and he didn't know if I would have paid in cash or split bill . I asked for the bill only and he took it upon himself to close me out without even asking just moving fast thinking he knew what I wanted to do. I don't respect that at all now I been waiting over 3 days for my money back because of the stupid bartender and my money is gone which they had no clue if I needed it or not, which was about $300 I'm still waiting on. That alone put a disgusting taste in my mouth. Also if you order Lamb they cook it all at the same temperature. Idk if the bartender just said that and assumed we wanted our meats cooked pass medium well because of our race and we seem young like we didn't know food etc, but he didn't even asked how would you like your meat cooked. Once my friend complained the lamb was over done to her liking he said the chef cooks all the lamb close to well which I don't believe if a yt couple was their they wouldn't ask. If your charging the price you have I should atleast get a say of how I want my meet cooked which we would have preferred Medium Rare!
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance was gorgeous.
Makes you feel like you're not in NY! The entire experience was phenomenal. We showed up early for a surprise bday dinner and started off with cocktails at the bar. Not only were the drinks delicious but they were also beautiful just like the female bartenders energies that served us. I believe our waiters name was Scott (I'm sorry if I got that wrong) but he was also very knowledgeable and super sweet. EVERY single dish was a 10/10! For cocktails I started off with the Meduza Margarita which was super refreshing and ended with the Smoke & Spice. I highly recommend my faves which were the lamb chops, spiced prawns and the butter fish. We also did a Mezze platter. As well as the black truffle Cacio e Pepe and the petit filet. Fave dessert was the Olive Oil cake of course! Which no one at my table has ever had and they were blown away. Will definitely be going back :). Thank you!

Meduza is always an amazing experience! I've dined here a few times now with different groups of people each time, and every time we are blown away by the experience. The dishes are incredible and prepared perfectly every time, the drinks are creative and delicious, the service is always on point and attentive, and the ambiance and atmosphere really separate it as a unique dining experience. If you're looking for something new and different and exciting then make sure you go to Meduza for your own amazing experience!!

My friends and I were initially SUPER EXCITED to finally get together and have a date which aligned with our work life schedules. Upon walking in for our 5pm reservations ( all parties were in the restaurant before 5:15) i noticed the ambience was amazing! We decided to have a cocktail while we wait for the last person to arrive. As we reserved a table for 4. While we waiting we enjoyed a cocktail called Party in Positano at the bar (amazing) My friends and I immediately noticed after checking in for our reservation - the hostess wasn't pleasant at all BUT we didn't let that ruin our time as it's understandable we have good days and so/so days. She then prints out a ticket and directs us to the back of the bar. Sigh... we go back to the front and explain to the hostess we prefer to be seated in the main area where we see people of 2,4,5 are being seated. While we are pleading that we would rather be seated in the front .She proceeded to tell us there wasn't a server for us which I found quite odd because people are being seated literally while we are watching We were anticipating to enjoy not only the food but the experience in a whole, and if you have ever been the entire place is beautiful but the front is where the lighting is amazing along with the ambience . After many "no's" from the hostess as to why we couldn't sit in the front area where there were many seats. We then very pleasantly asked for a manager. The hostess did not walk away to get a manager. However, the manager came over without saying a single word to us and gave us seats in the front area. Which I found to be odd and quite rude. We still were optimistic that we would enjoy our experience. As we were seated they found a server for us the GRM came over and gave us complimentary shots and bread with hummas (10/10) We ordered for the table so we can eat family style 2 orders of spicy prawns (10/10) 2 orders of mash potatoes (10/10) 1 kale Salad (10/10) 1 order of Olives 1 Lobster pasta (4/10) 1 whole branzini (5:10) 2 lamb chop orders (10/10) 2 rounds of Party in Positano (10/10) 1 lyche rose (5/10) The food was good but the service not so much i was very dissatisfied with that.I would rather patronize a restaurant with 5/10 food and amazing customer service rather than a place that gave off they didn't really want us there.

The food was absolutely delicious and the ambience very nice. Our server Kat was an absolute delight. She had amazing recommendations and she was an absolute pleasure.

Everything was exceptional from ambience, food, drinks to servers ... except for being limited for time for a birthday celebration and approached by manager to remind us we have to give up a table after around two hours. Its sad we have to be rushed out and not fully enjoy this truly beautiful place.

Absolutely thrilled to share my experience at this gem of a restaurant! It's a fantastic addition to New York's vibrant culinary landscape. The live guitarist truly elevated the ambiance, creating such a delightful atmosphere. The service was impeccable, and every dish we tried was incredibly delicious. Their drinks are expertly crafted, making every sip a pleasure. This place is definitely a must-visit with all the right ingredients for a memorable dining experience!
Be the first to ReplyMy friends and I had reservations for a birthday dinner on
My friends and I had reservations for a birthday dinner on 4/19/24. We arrived 10 mins before the reservation and checked in the entire party was there yet we didn't get seated until 35 mins later. Upon arrival I was approached by security regarding my attire. Security advised that their general manager stated I would have to leave or put on something else because I had on shorts and they were " too short". My immediate mood changed for the rest of the night. I looked up their dress code and it does say "no shorts, no hats, no wigs amongst other things". I traveled far to get to the restaurant so I borrowed a long coat so I can stay. As I waited for over 30 mins for my table I noticed several women with shorts, skirts shorter than my shorts and people with hats and I never saw the security go to them. I do have to mention I am a Black woman and the people who also didn't adhere to their "dress code" were white but they were not left to feel uncomfortable. The food was at best mediocre and over priced. We had spaghetti Lobster and it was $62 and 2-3 pieces of lobster. During our meal a manager came to us and advised that we haven't met the $200 minimum per person for our reservation. This was the first we heard of this, our party was 7 and apparently parties of 6 have to be approved my a general manager and minimum $200. There wasn't anything they sounded appealing to rack up a meal for $200! They never sent an email with these rules, didn't tell us as we sat down, It was sprung on us towards the end of our meal. We spoke to Rohan a manager who was nice and stated since there was no contract no email agreement they wouldn't hold us to the minimum and promised us shots on the house for the miscommunication! We never received the shots! The best thing about night was they allowed birthday cake with an $8 p/p cutting fee which a lot of restaurants in NYC don't allow anymore! Service was not exceptional, the waiter was not memorable! The decor was nice but I give a 1/10. They are selective aka racist and I will not be going back or recommending anyone to go!
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous gorgeous restaurant.
First off everything was perfection, from the drinks to the food. I started off with the lychee rose and it was so much more than I expected. Not too sweet but perfect. For the food we ordered the tartare- could've ate 5 of these, branzino- good, pistachio salmon- blown away, black truffle cacie e pepe- the star of the show and let's not forget (because I won't) the olive oil cake. This place had some of the best food I've had in such a long time. Service of impeccable as well. I wish I took our waiters name but he was so full of energy and really made this night amazing for us. I can not wait to come back here.

So I really don't like posting reviews but I had to write this review for this place. If I could give it zero stars I would. This by far has been one of the worse places I have ever dined in my life. The anti blackness that I was met with very telling. From the rules saying no wig or hats ( hmm I wonder what demographic they are targeting by saying that ) and seeing three white men with hats on blew my mind. Not only that my friend was harassed about her shorts( mind you her shorts was not up her ass ) so another friend had to give her a jacket in order for us to sit down. But it gets better...there was a young white lady actually a few with dresses on so short if they sneezed you could see their butthole. They were not harassed. And to top it off they tried to say a group of 6 women had to pay 200 dollars pp and there was no pre fixed menu. If you are black stay far away from this place. It's evident how we were treated they did not want us there and I will ensure no black person I know ever goes there. Truly truly disgusting and I hope y'all lose business.

Never felt more unwelcome at the restaurant!!! I visited the restaurant with my best friends for an event, and what we had hoped would be a lovely, enjoyable experience turned into a horrible time for everyone. From the very beginning when we were given our reserved table, we were constantly reminded by the staff of how much time we had left for our table - something that really ruined our experience and left us unable to enjoy our meal and time together at all. With their constant reminders, the staff - with the exception of our waiter, Jaime, the only one who seemed aware that this was not a proper way of dealing with customers - acted as if we were a nuisance more so than guests. We felt uncomfortable and unwanted in the restaurant throughout the evening. The worst part was when the manager informed us that another party was waiting for a table and practically urged us to order dessert and leave ASAP - while we were in the middle of having the main course! This was the last straw for us, and we skipped dessert and decided to go elsewhere to continue our evening. All in all, based on this experience, I really cannot recommend the restaurant. My friends and I do not want special treatment of any kind - just decent, quality service and hospitality, and this place couldn't even meet that bare minimum. The experience completely ruined the event for us, and I will definitely avoid visiting the place in future.
Be the first to ReplyThe worst restaurant I have ever been to in NYC.
The staff, especially the manager, is incredibly rude, and the food is below average. Some customers wear baseball caps while others are singled out for not wearing the right shirt. Overall, it was a terrible experience. Don't waste your money here. I wouldn't return even if they offered me free meals for a lifetime.

THIS RESTAURANT HAS RUINED MY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!!! My sister has booked a table for my b-day party with 4 of my best friends since this was a top 3 new restaurants that I wanted to try. We have reserved a table for 4 of us on a Friday night at 7:45. The first impression was very nice until we have approached the hostess stand where we have been informed that we have 1:30 minutes left to eat. We have grabbed a round at the bar and then we were headed to the table where we were greeted by Jeremy who was very pleasant. After we have gotten our appetizers we were informed that our main course is arriving shortly. We have just ordered our second round and started warming up for what we were expecting to be a great night. Until the manager NOVA approached. She was asking if we are enjoying our celebration and if we were ready to order a dessert since the next table has arrived and they are ready to be seated while we were still enjoying our main course. I was already boiling inside since I have been looking at the clock and trying to see how much time do we have left and it's been only an hour since we have been seated. We have immediately asked for the check and refused to order a cake for my birthday. I am so disappointed and will never step in this restaurant again. I felt that Jeremy was the only person that felt bad about our experience but nobody else seemed to care. They are a new business and I think they should all have a proper training about what the customer service is all about.
Be the first to Replyif you're looking for a more upscale restaurant, this place
if you're looking for a more upscale restaurant, this place is the best. the food, drinks, atmosphere, music all of it is 10/10. you have to order the black truffle cacio e pepe and the lychee rose cocktail. there was a girl who came to play the violin at our table which was so beautiful. the only one thing that could've been improved was the music in the restaurant being soooo loud. other than that, it is sooo beautiful and spacious and great for a nice dinner with friends, family, or your partner.
