They act like a Michelin starred restaurant but they are not. Food does not taste good. It's all Smokey and I understand that this is the way they cook but sometimes it's overly done. Chef tried to be innovative but things just doesn't go together and the flavors are confusing leaving your palates exhausted at the end of the experience. Service is ok and the atmosphere created is not bad but again overly done.

Meteora is a very special occasion restaurant that you'll want to go to every day. The atmosphere is beautiful from the minute you step through the circular branches formed around the front door. The dining area is simply stunning and is adorned with hanging macrame planters and green vines. The bar area is also nice. Despite the restaurant being at full capacity there was very little noise. The food is prepared in very innovative ways, some ancient, such as burying the food under hot ash to cook. I would love to have a tour of the kitchen! We had the 5 course menu and everything was 5 star delicious and was made with an interesting mix of ingredients, some we've never heard of. All the flavors came together, and you didn't want to get to the last bite of any of the dishes. There are a few surprises that I won't reveal. The service was top notch as well, and our server explained every dish and where the ingredients were sourced from. Overall, this was one of the top 2 meals I've ever had in my life.

Meteora Restaurant is an experience restaurant that offers stunning ambiance and impeccable service. From the moment you step foot inside, you are greeted with an atmosphere that exudes elegance and sophistication. One of the highlights of Meteora is the tasting menu, which offers a variety of dishes that showcase the chef's creativity and skill. Priced reasonably, the tasting menu is a great way to sample a range of flavors and textures. What stood out was the scallop, snap peas and yams, However, not all dishes hit the mark. The duck was particularly disappointing, with a strong gamey taste that did not appeal to my palate, the fish and risotto also fell short of expectations. Despite some misses in the tasting menu, the regular menu offers some standout dishes that are worth every penny. The murasaki yams, in particular, are a must-try dish that will leave you craving for more. While some items may seem overpriced, the presentation is always top-notch and adds to the overall dining experience. One dish that left me underwhelmed was the single prawn, which came with a hefty price tag of $30. While the presentation was spectacular, the taste did not quite justify the cost. However, the overall experience is one that is worth the investment, as the ambiance and service are exceptional. In conclusion, Meteora offers a dining experience that is both luxurious and memorable.

This is a culinary delight and a unique experience with a great atmosphere. They have two separate rooms one for a La carte and one on the pre fix menu which I believe is 5 courses. The ambiance is nice and relaxing and has a zen vibe. The food was fantastic and fulfilling. They have just a great presentation as well as a unique twist and method of bringing all the flavors together. We had the oysters that had i believe duck fat over it. Then caviar with avocado and Wagyu tartare. Finished it off with a Wagyu steak that was served with a tamarind and green sauce. Everything was untraditional in the sense that you get culinary skills and made with care. Their drinks were also hand crafted and mixed with juices and specialty items. Everything was delightful for a Saturday night. The only thing they can do better on was their service. For the price you pay they should be topping off the cups with the sparkling water. Although our server was very nice, as well as the hostess and the person who does reservations all was great, but for the price you pay they need to go the extra mile when it comes to small details. Either way I would come back.
Be the first to ReplyOmg this place is amazing.
I feel like I am at an upscale festival with the food, ambiance and soundtrack. I need the soundtrack for this restaurant. The service is amazing. We got pre dinner cocktails, wine pairing and added on the prawns. I AM SO THANKFUL THEY HAVE A WINE PAIRING NOW. TBH I was not a fan of this place when it first opened bc I didn't like the food much and the alcohol was maybe 3 kinds of wine? They didn't even have a full bar yet. I'll never forget the guy next to me saying. I'm paying $500 for this meal and I can't get a martini?" The tasting menu is ONLY $75. That is a STEAL considering the level and quantity of food. There is a wine pairing and also a nonalcoholic pairing which I always appreciate despite never getting it myself. It's truly so decadent but also really reasonably priced for what I think is the best kept secret for Michelin star tasting menu. I thought Baroo was great at $110. Can't wait to go back for dinner & brunch!

The food and ambiance are perfect in every way! The food was experimental yet delicious, and there wasn't a single dish to discard. I especially recommend trying the beef tartare as an ala carte!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is quite disappointing here, to be honest.
You can get a much more interesting experience without the cost of a tasting menu at places such as Girl and the Goat. The only highlights were the charred spring peas with smoked cream and the coal-roasted yam (we ordered the yam in addition to the base tasting menu, per our server's recommendation). They really should have included the yam into the tasting menu because the rest of the food is mediocre. The dessert (some orange sorbet with young coconut) was awful. They need someone better to conceptualize their desserts.

The decor is amazing, the service is excellent and the food is exquisite. Everything at Meteora is memorable; whether it's the à la carte menu or the set menu. The sweet pea hors d'oeuvre or the risotto entrée or the rib eye (the wagyu is advised) or the chocolate ganache with sorbet for dessert. Every dish leaves an unforgettable taste in your mouth. We were lucky to be served by Gina but then, everyone who brings a dish is super helpful. Thanks Meteora for this unforgettable culinary experience.

This restaurant transported us off planet! Jordan K is a genius! The entire menu was delicious, and each course was as if it was made by natives in the Amazon. Each course was beautiful, exciting and extremely delicious. Such a fan of his teams work.

The food was so INTERESTING and different. It was an experience, I felt like I left LA for a bit and teleported to some oasis. I went for Mother's Day to celebrate the special day with my mother, they had a prefix menu and we ordered a few things on the side. It was all delicious and the service was impeccable. The ambiance was BEAUTIFUL, it was all quite perfect!

This ambitious follow-up to Michelin-starred Vespertine is probably the most "LA" of this city's fine dining establishments. From a nest-like entrance (it took me a few seconds to figure out how the door worked) to a prehistoric ambience filled with electronic music and incense, the designer here did an excellent job. The menu is innovative, but my problem was that creativity trumps flavor. The technique is flawless, sometimes impressively so. But every dish had an earthy taste, except for a somewhat unpleasant dessert (a mild bitterness to it). When there were other flavors, they clashed rather than complimented. Juice pairings are sometimes superior to the actual dishes.I'll probably never go back- I just don't think my palate meshed with the food well. But I was impressed.
Be the first to ReplyWorst place.
They charge you fullPrice if you can't make it. I was charged $400 because I could not make the "experience" . I made the reservation 2 hours before and I tried canceling 1 hour before we due. I couldn't call direct because apparently customer service doesn't exist in hospitality establishments anymore. It's not like I cost the restaurant to loose money. They just took from me for doing nothing. It's not like a human took my reservation, asked me how my day was etc. So restaurants now don't even have to serve food to make money off customers. Fantastic.

Beautiful restaurant, enter the jungle and have amazing food. Highly recommend! Tasting menu was fantastic for a great price.
Be the first to ReplyI'm glad we tried Meteora, but I would not go back again.
Pros- Fun, creative vibe. An experience!- Attentive and friendly service. - The starters were strong. We particularly liked the scallops and the burnt yam, which was the highlight as a truly unique dish. Cons- The entrees were weak. The sea bass was dry and bland. The wagyu beef, which costs extra, was mediocre. Wagyu should be tender, and it was not - The staff is clearly trained to sell hard. Our server pushed hard for us to have cocktails. And when we asked for a couple recommendations each time they sold hard for the most expensive options. - Minor point - The restroom was not well attended. The garbage can was filled with used paper hand towels, which spilled out over the floor. For a Michelin restaurant at this price point it's appropriate to have high expectations. Meteora is fun and creative, but it does not live up to these expectations for me. That's why I'm giving them 3 stars.
Be the first to ReplyThe food tasted like gruel and looked like it too.
I didn't enjoy anything. They shut all the windows and burned sage. I was coughing. It was probably to ensure you couldn't actually taste anything. Service was ok I guess!l? I'd never come back. Overpriced waste of money.

TLDR: Fancy ig aesthetics place with decent but extremely pricey food.We made reservations via open table for the Sunday brunch. It's a prix fixe for $58 pp. From the online sample menu, it looked like there were three courses and a pastry plus optional supplements and SINE QUA NON (which Google translates to must haves, which made me wonder why they're not built into the prix fix if they're not to be missed?). It's street side parking and I think there is paid valet. It looked so fancy that I was a little scared if the establishment had rules for guests, but there is no dress code or formal rules as such. Decor is beautiful, the entrance is behind a giant branch covered door which is hard to tell from the outside. Inside is open air and vibrant indoor seating, they have serves going around with incense bowls... For anniversary and birthday events they have servers light a candle nut (like almond) on a plate of sand for aura and tradition (Personally the cultural elements thrown in felt a little out of place and extra but we went with it)...The most non user friendly thing was the Cutlery, I get that they want to have an organic feel but the wooden spoons and forks resembled and were like a toddler's cutlery to use, and they gave no knives. The prix fix only includes 3 dishes - a starter choice between a Sangre De Fruta and grilled persimmon. We had one of each. They were both sub-par. Sangre de fruta is a coconut yogurt with coconut flesh and papaya. Papaya was not sweet, yogurt was ok but the most bothersome bit was the flesh which was crunchy and unpleasant. The grilled persimmon is served as build your own lettuce wrap, ir had nicely grilled persimmon, but the sauce/dressing underneath was cheese/ curd heavy and the crunchy leaves were way too huge to assemble within the wrap. They also stuck two three leaves of micro herbs on the bowl. The porridge bread is delicious, but we also got a side of the hearth cake and would have liked the server to warn us that they're almost essentially the same. For mains we got the avocado pie and poached eggs with green garbanzo. Latter was decent, but pie is structured so weird it makes it hard to eat without making a mess. We also tried the hot cacao w ashwaganda (and mind you, i drink ashwa everyday, but this still feels a little mud like) and astera n/a which didn't taste like the elements in its description. Server was nice though, explained everything well and also packed stuff for us up. Our bill plus tip was over $200. Wouldn't recommend unless you're doing it for the gram.
