Mírate offers an extraordinary dining experience that effortlessly blends the rich culinary traditions of Mexico with contemporary Californian flair. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by a beautifully adorned and lively setting that sets the stage for a memorable meal. The restaurant boasts two bar spaces, including a dedicated mezcaleria, highlighting an impressive array of cocktails, distillates, wines, and beers--all meticulously sourced from Mexico. This focus on Mexican beverages adds an authentic touch and enhances the overall dining experience. The ingredient-driven menu at Mírate is a true celebration of Mexico's bold flavors, skillfully reimagined through nuanced techniques. Both dinner and brunch options are designed to be shared, fostering a convivial atmosphere where guests can enjoy familiar flavors presented in unexpected and delightful ways. Each dish emphasizes the layered culinary history of Mexico while seamlessly integrating Californian sensibilities. The service at Mírate is top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about providing an outstanding dining experience. The outdoor deco painted an elevated aesthetically pleasing ambiance that was overshadowed by a lot of negative shady business antics. First off, we booked reservations for a table of 6 to celebrate a birthday and were placed in a small contained room that quite frankly I don't see why anyone would want to celebrate that way, just stay home at that point. Placement took us over 40 minutes btw. The room was small and had no view to the outdoor. Thankfully after bringing this up, they were able to move us to an open table downstairs. We brought a cake with us and after we sung happy birthday they offered to take it back into the kitchen and have it cut for us. I thought this was a very kind gesture of the restaurant staff at the time. little did I know, it was a $18 charge. This, among paying the employees's healthcare benefits- were separate charges that were NOT disclosed to us at any point. We found out after we had paid and printed the receipt (the initial receipt only had the total amount). This is shady, shady, shady. Owners of the restaurants are responsible for taking care of their employees NOT the customers. Shame on you. The food was mediocre, was not authentically Mexican and was overpriced. Will not be coming back here again.

One of the most beautiful settings, I've seen in a restaurant. Spectacular layout. Really a must go for that. Now add a unique menu with very interesting items! The Jicama Aguachile is to die for. That you must have,So good. Love this place!
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere both during the day and at night.
Most recently came here for dinner. Hostess and servers all very kind and make you feel welcome. We ordered the red snapper, yucca, artichoke, crab/ salsa tostadas, and churros for dessert. Everything was delicious especially the snapper and yucca. The artichoke was slightly undercooked which made it difficult to peel and eat, and the churros are not churros, they are beignets. They were out of espresso, so I was unable to order the cocktail I wanted, but the cocktails were overall solid. They are unique so it's a hit or miss depending on how "interesting" you like your cocktails. Overall it was a great date night, although I do wish they had heaters outside. It was quite chilly!
Be the first to ReplyTropical sanctuary vibe, the cutest spot for brunch and all.
Great presentation, and service. The food and drinks are also topnotch. To the foodies, you have to try their Croque Senora! It is delicious!

Mírate Restaurant is a real gem, with cocktails so good they'll make you want to write sonnets about them. But let's talk about the salt - I mean, was the chef a camel in a past life? I half-expected to find a humpback munching on a cracker next to me. The salt levels had me wondering if there was a secret plan to keep us parched and drinking. Clever move, Mírate, clever move. I'll definitely be back, but next time I'll bring a map to navigate through the salt flats of your dishes. And maybe a camel to feel right at home!
Be the first to ReplyService sucked.
Came to have dinner for my birthday I had reservations made and it took us 45 min to get seated with reservations. And then proceeded to sit us in the "event room" which is behind the curtain in the waiting area where you're away from the view, which is one of the biggest reasons why I made a reservation here due the aesthetics of the restaurant. I also did not request this event room. We had to wait to be seated all over again to be seated inside the restaurant. I had brought my bday cake and they did not tell us that they charged a fee for cutting my cake and for serving each individual person which was an additional $17. I could've cut my own cake and had they mentioned that when they saw my cake I would've put it back in the car and been happy to at least have an option. And on top of that, there's a fee to pay for benefits for the employees which I get but that is the restaurant owners responsibility, not the guest. When we voiced our questions to our waiter she told us it was common knowledge for these kind of charges for "upscale" restaurants. If they're so upscale then they should be able to pay their employees and their benefits and not cheap out with sneaky charges. Also I ordered a $21 drink (tu compa drink) that sounded like it be a nice cocktail only for them to bring me a canned seltzer. Very disappointing. Do not recommend. Overpriced and just bad service for an aesthetic restaurant. Not worth it
Be the first to Reply4% employee benefits were added to our bill.
Paying customers are there to enjoy the food and the ambience not to share your payroll expenses. Does not make sense.

Drinks are phenomenal! Was told that they are on the top 50 for cocktails and they did not disappoint. If they weren't so expensive, I could've had more. We had reservations but since our whole party agent arrived we were told to wait in the bar area. We walked past the hostess to a bar that said reserved and had no idea what was going on, this is when we found out there's a whole downstairs! It was beautiful and magical! There was a tree in the middle and plenty of sunlight coming, I felt like I was elsewhere. My brunch was the chilaquiles and they were good, not soggy at all, but the chicken was a little salty for my liking. The eggs were not too runny and everything paired well together. Our server was attentive and came back often to check on us. we had a great experience and even though it was pricy, I'd say it was worth it. If anything I'd come back for more cocktails!

I never do this but I feel like this place is beyond overhyped and a rip off. The food was average especially when you can get better Mexican food at almost corner. When you spend 400 dollars on a meal I expect to be impressed. Although, i do recommend this place for drinks and ambiance but skip on the meal.

Pretty big disconnect between the amazing scenery and service and the mediocre food and drinks. Probably would not go back because of the extremely high price for pretty average food.

Our server was really nice and helpful whenever we asked any questions. The hostess was accommodating with last minute changes we had to make. Overall, amazing service from everyone.

My wife and I have been to Mirate numerous times, and this is hands down our favorite new restaurant! The atmosphere and environment are awesome. The service has always been on point and the food and drinks are great. We have also attended several special meals with mezcal pairings which are always incredible. Additionally, they have an outstanding brunch. Big shout out to Chef Josh and also Max who created the killer bar program. We will continue to be back often!

What we had: - mi sancho slushie (coconut cream, pineapple, guava ponche, cañada Oaxacan rum) $18 - los dips y tostadas w/ salsa molcajete $6 - coctel de mariscos (shrimp, scallops, octopus) $22 - yucca sucias $15 - fried chicken tacos $9 - pork belly tacos $9 - pan francais (bay leaf horchata, key lime, brioche) $21 Taste: 5/5 Everything was delicate and delicious!! I started off with a mi sancho slushie - a creamy and sweet alcoholic drink. For appetizer, we had some dips and tostadas. The tostadas were a little bit greasy but they went well with the tangy and spicy (just a bit) salsa molcajete. All the dishes were pretty flavourful. The coctel de mariscos - the prawn cocktail - was refreshing and had a spicy kick. The yucca sucias had a morish texture - crispy on the outside and smooth inside. Both tacos were yum, but I preferred the one with pork belly more because of the sauce. We wrapped up our meal with the pan francais - yep, French toast, but with a nice floral touch. It was giving spring. Vibe: 5/5 Perfect photo ops. I loved how they decorated the place with plants and let natural sunlight shine through the entire building. It created a peaceful and artful ambience that I really enjoyed. Service: 5/5 Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. Vegetarian or Vegan option available to some dishes

Yooooo so the homegirls and I were definitely looking for Latin love this night and what better place than some authentic Mexican cuisine. Something to note about sistas w/ badunk... brothas and Latin brothas be the only ones that can handle dis junk. Mexicans are pretty much brothas with a mustache and better credit. ANYWAY. We rolled up to Mirate with bad badunky's ready lemme tell ya. Yur gurl was smitten with the fang shwey right away. The art. The design. The Mexicans. Oooo the Mexicans. Yur gurl was ready to ride a stash. I said "ey girls halt. Lemme check in real qweeek." I go over and approach the host. This girl looks up at me with bug eyes like she just saw uncle Leroy's ankle slapper. I was like "yo girl wassup with my table?" And she was like "yo girl chill." I bout smacked the white outta her. Then I realized that that was the issue. She weren't no Mexican and she be working in a Mexican restaurant. Probably feeling like Hitler at a Black Panther luncheon. Anyway. They sat us 30 minutes late and you know your girl was tickled but hey, I saw some Antonio Banderas brotha (I think it's the DJ from Toca Madera) lookin at my badunk on the way to the table. Sweat instantly ran through my rolls as I eyed him back. His smile said "I own a Toyota tundra and provide for 10 kids" so you know he gotta be authentic. Food was perfect. Wait Service was even better. And then, at the end of the night, your girl was just sitting there, and that Antonio Banderas, looking brotha came by and whispered in my ear... "just feel the music" and walked away. You know your girl met up with him at the club after and rode that stash til 5am!!!! GET IT GURL.

Great date night spot if you're looking for cool ambiance to go with tasty food. The food did lean on the spicy end across the menu, so I did wish there were more options without the spicy seasoning for those of us bad with spicy food. That aside, the food met expectations. They have a robust drink menu for those who want some buzz too, inclusive of non-alcoholic options.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mirate, a Mexican restaurant that offers a range of tasty dishes. During my visit, I tried their fried chicken taco and it was absolutely delicious! The taco was generously filled with crispy, juicy chicken that was perfectly seasoned with a blend of spices. The toppings were also fresh and flavorful, including diced tomatoes, onions, and a zesty cilantro sauce. The tortilla was soft and held all the ingredients together well.Aside from the amazing taste, the portion size was also quite generous, making it a great value for the price. The service was excellent too, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure our dining experience was enjoyable.Overall, I highly recommend trying the fried chicken taco at Mirate Mexican restaurant. The flavors were outstanding, the portion size was ample, and the service was top-notch. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes from their menu!
Be the first to ReplySo bummed about our experience at Mirate.
The decor was 5 out 5 but unfortunately the accolades stopped there. I would not recommend Mirate to friends or family. There are better places out there. We were seated at table without a heater on a chilly night and right next to an opening where there was a major draft from the outside. We asked for a heater for our table as every other table had a heater, but our server told us that they'd move a heater to our table as soon as the tables next to us left. We never got our heater and ended up having our entire dinner in our coats. I ordered a margarita with tequila instead of mezcal, and when our drinks came out, my marg had a distinct smokey flavor. Again, I asked the server about my marg being made with mezcal. The server brought my drink back to the bar, and then brought the same drink back to me but told me it was made with tequila and the only reason it was smokey was bc I ordered it "spicy". I've had many spicy margs and none of them have ever been smokey. They would make me a second marg that wasn't spicy and told me that I could "keep both" to decide which one I liked more. It felt like they were trying to prove a point even though it was completely unnecessary and borderline rude to be treated that way. Overall, our experience was super disappointing and a let down. I'd try somewhere else.

Came in on a rainy Tuesday night and honestly, the attentiveness of the staff, the decor, the food and drinks made me completely forget that Los Angeles had temporarily turned into Seattle. Our double date food and drinks included:Drinks:-El Yaki: smoky, foamy, hint of papaya deliciousness-Mi Compa: we were surprised to find that this was a clarified Paloma! Unique, clean, refreshing.-I wish I remembered the name of this INSANE clarified beverage washed/hint of goat milk. It was by far my favorite beverage of the night. Very subtle, clean, UNIQUE. So mad at myself for forgetting the name.Food:-Scallop Tlayuda: hands down our favorite item of the night. So many different flavor profiles and textures that all blend together so well. This dish was bright, savory, and fresh all in one. Don't skip it.-Salsa + Tostada & Frijoles + Tostadas: couldn't go wrong with either. Our friend said that these were the best beans he's had in his life.-Octopus, Mushroom, & Beef tongue Arabe: tortillas tasted homemade. We appreciated the different accoutrements within each arabe; it added varying flavors with each one! Our favorite was hands down the mushroom one!-Pork belly taco: crunchy, salty, full of flavor.-Yuca Sucias: chorizo & cheesy yucca fries. A delicious spin on cheesy fries. Loved it. -Churros: actually a light, warm, satisfying way to end our meal. Overall, can't wait to come back! We'll miss you Rockwell, but welcome to the neighborhood Mirate.
