Meh- maybe I’ll order to go next time and just have drinks somewhere else
Great food, horrible service. Didn’t bring out the drink I ordered though it was on the bill and had to get them to change it. Service staff did not really seem interested in making sure we had what we needed.

I am local and have been eating at Nama’s a long time, last night we ate, paid our bill and about 10 minutes later, we were ask by the manager Juan to leave since we had paid, first off, that was embarrassing, second since when do u have to leave just because u paid the bill, was told when we ask for the check a timeline starts, I told him we didn’t ask for the check, the waiter just brought it, never in my life have I been ask to leave a restaurant since we paid the bill, we did a girls night since the guys were gone and it was pouring the rain, so there was nowhere to go. We, did not leave, we ordered another drink and enjoyed the rest of our night. Juan was very argumentative and said he was the new manager and that he probably didn’t handle that situation very well, I agreed and told him he didn’t. Even being local, and the food always being good, I will second guess where I eat.

We went for half priced sushi and it was delicious. The drinks were good. The sushi makers were a hoot. We sat at the bar and they had us laughing the whole time. It was a great experience.

I absolutely love sushi and love this restaurant but what I loved most was ther service. Savanna or Van was absolutely incredible at her job. She was extremely kind and personable. She went beyond what a regular server does and made me feel welcomed and not like a customer at all more like a friend. She made us laugh while also being very attentive to our needs. Even without asking she knew what I needed. Absolutely wonderful experience!

The waitress was very aloof and not friendly at all. Even though there was hardly anyone in the place it still took a long time to get our food. We were attending a UT football game and they took their time. The bathrooms were very dirty and the sushi was not fresh. Bill was over $50 for grocery store quality sushi. Very disappointing.

High quality sushi, friendly and attentive staff. Coming from the east coast, I can affirm their sushi was very good. Unsure what the disconnect is with pricing and other comments as I found the size of roll and quality/quantities given to be large and well worth the value for what I received.

I walked in with 10 friends and was told they didn't want our business. Offered to split up the group and they still refused. Only explanation was their kitchen couldn't handle 10 hungry men. Not even an apology.

Downtown Nama. I have loved this place for so many years and I know chefs come and go. I have spent thousands of dollars at this one location over the years. The food we had was awesome and is usually worth the money. But yesterday the staff was eating edamame behind the bar and one of the servers was licking her fingers and then handling customers plates, wine glasses, and silverware without even washing her hands. I was grossed out. That is bottom to me. It is peoples food that you are dealing with. How low can you go? Don't think I will ever go back to this one.
Be the first to ReplyNOT WORTH IT!
WAY OVERPRICED and the tiniest portions of edamame and sushi barely had any rice or ingredients. Smallest sushi I have ever had. $50 dollars and we had to go get lunch afterwards lol

Everything was delicious! On Mondays and Thursday’s they have half priced rolls and cocktails. The Atlantic roll was delicious!
Be the first to ReplyManagement and hostess don’t have a clue
We had 6 people for a table tonight and we were told it would be about 45 minutes and an hour later it was 20+ minutes more. We watched multiple 4 top groups that arrived later jump ahead of us. Do the Nama employees know they can put two tables together or is the management so concerned with turning 4 tops that they continually ignored us? Nama had at least 4 hostess and not one of them could figure it out. I have been a Nama customer for many years but I will never eat at Nama again and will tell everyone they should avoid the the horrible service and eat somewhere else. It’s a shame that turning tables and profit is above taking care of customers. Avoid Nama if you want customer service. The sushi is good but NOT that good. Many other sushi restaurants that are better

My sister & I visited with our children for lunch. This isn’t the first place you’d think to go with two children that are just barely one (🥴) but our waitress, Emily, made us feel so comfortable. She made sure we had everything we needed & she was so SO friendly with our children. We got the Crunch Orange & Crispy Veggie lunch specials with the miso soup & seaweed salad + an extra tuna crunch roll. Everything was absolutely killer!

The cost of the food didn't match the quality. We searched for the crab in the Crab and Asiago dip and didn't find any! The rolls were ok...we've had much better. The Currydon was just ok...didn't eat it!

Be the first to ReplyCeliac-safe sushi!
My friend and I ordered Nama through Uber Eats for our girls' week-end, and it was a great place to get a safe, delicious gluten-free meal! Not only was the menu clearly marked with what could be made gf or not, but, when we received our order, we saw that Nama had labeled my boxes with "Celiac, gluten-sensitive" and my friend's box as "Not gluten sensitive" (see photo). This gave me so much extra confidence that Nama had taken care with my order. I chose the yoga roll and Negi Hama with avocado, and it was so satisfying. The yoga roll was served with cilantro oil that was so, so good. Addictive, really. My friend dipped her avocado roll in it and loved it too. Will definitely be getting Nama every time I'm in Knoxville.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent sushi and appetizers.
My husband and I eat Nigro or Sashime so we are very picky about sushi. Nama was right down the street from our hotel. They did have a problem keeping up with customers due to staffing issues. The food was so good we ate there a second time and sat outside people watching

Great service and very good food. Chefs sushi platter was great....some new things we were able to try and they were excellent. Great date spot downtown prior to a show.

Not just sushi. The sesame beef was amazing. Nice bar choices too. Special rolls were not your average either! Great dinner. The Maui wow or, soy joy and crunchy shrimp were awesome rolls

We had time for a quick lunch and Nama Sushi Bar did not disappoint. The sushi rolls, soup and salad were great and the service was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyJust Okay
Just Okay. We enjoy sushi and have been to all the sushi restaurants in Knoxville. Nama is just okay. It’s not bad but it’s not great. They are pretty pricey unless you go on one of the nights they offer specials. The rolls are good and everything tasted fresh. There is a nice selection. Our server was great on a really crowded night.
Be the first to ReplyJapan-grade Roll
Elegant Rooster Eel Roll with Japan-grade rice and savory combination of crab meat and eel. So far, the best roll outside Japan.
Nice lunch box to go. The staff takes good care of tidiness.
Excellent chefs choice
Restaurant is clean and very nice with great service by our waiter. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided good recommendations.
We started with the fantasy shrimp which was excellent.
For main course we did the chefs rolls for two, it’s a surprise combination of sushi rolls made by the chef. We thoroughly enjoyed it, great rolls. Highly recommend this place !
