I'm picky about Mexican food but My girlfriend hyped this place up. Total disappointment. A cold steak bowl, looked and tasted like coleslaw. A burrito with hard rice. The guac was about the only good thing I can say. $50+ Yea not coming back.

Always welcoming. They have good breakfast and lunch.

This restaurant used to be a nice sit down place for brunch with mimosas and a cool vibe. Now it has turned into a much more of a "fast casual" place with ordering at the counter and having your food brought to your table. (Kind of like Panera bread) We were not offered extra plates right away and our sandwich came wrapped in tinfoil similar to ordering a burger at McDonald's. Food was decent but not the same level of service or nice brunch vibe it used to be.

My family and I would frequent Nana's when they were a regular sit down breakfast, lunch and sometimes even dinner place. Truth be told we hadn't been to Nana's in over 5 years mostly due to our experiences at the time. We felt like the quality was going down and the prices were going up. I heard they made some changes so my family and I decided to give it another try this morning. We were unfortunately very disappointed. Aside from it feeling impersonal from being counter service, the quality of the food has really suffered. Nana's used to be all organic and local and that's clearly not the case anymore. The bacon seemed super generic, my husband's chai tea was super sweet and not at all tasty, the orange juice was not fresh squeezed and tasted like it came from a Tropicana bottle, the pancakes were greasy and gummy and the "maple syrup" tasted like it was poured out of an Aunt Jemima bottle. When I went to the front to ask for actual maple syrup or jam they told me I was wrong and that they gave me actual maple syrup. I'm pretty sure I can taste the difference. Even the consistency of the syrup was off. It was thick and super sticky, not at all like real maple syrup. Overall not a good experience. I understand they evolved due to the pandemic but it was not in a positive way. Maybe some people like their new fast food theme but for us it made us sad to loose one of the few special places that made Bridgeport special. Their Yelp page is also very misleading, most of their great reviews and pictures reflect the original Nana's, not the new fast food Nana's. They should consider changing their name all together.
Be the first to ReplyThis is definitely not the Nana that it used to be.
It is now a fast food joint oddly placed inside what used to be a fantastic restaurant and overall eating experience. It's really quite disappointing. Our food was lackluster at most, not worth the price. Drinks are brought out to you in plastic and/or to-go cups, syrup was artificial and also in plastic cups, food wrapped in aluminum foil, and the pancakes were rubbery and lukewarm. It all just seems like they're trying to save a buck but continue to charge premium prices. This is a far cry from what the original Nana used to be... a gem.

The food and service was good but the beauty and ambiance that existed prior is gone. The menu items that would draw me to the restaurant are gone. It was saddening and disappointing. I probably won't go back.
Be the first to ReplyReally great brunch place for a quick bite.
Small but solid menu, and everything is made to order. Ranchero Bowl was fresh and flavorful, and the Impossible Breakfast Sandwich was excellent. Avocado fries (and regular fries) were a great compliment to the meal. Staff was friendly, and prices were good. Will come again
Be the first to ReplyGreat chilaquiles! Lovely space and wonderful service.
You feel like a member of the family.

My all time favorite place for chilaquiles!! They have three restaurants under the same roof - so many vegetarian and vegan options to choose from! I love their chilaquiles in verde sauce but their lattes and seasonal drinks are also great! The guava French toast is a great side option. It's a cute little gem in Bridgeport with free street parking and plenty of seating!

... Makes me even more upset about my experience here. The food was delicious, but the vibe... totally off. You walk up to the register, pay, walk to a counter top, grab your own utensils, water and napkins.. walk to your table and wait for your food. You then have to walk to the table and put your dirty dishes on the counter.. we ordered 2 chilaquiles bowls, with steak and a 16 ounce mimosa.. $85!Now I will say this was my first time there so I included a 20% tip before I knew there would be no table service. Drink was good food was good but too pricy for what felt like I was ordering food in a cafeteria

This was my first time here and I must say I am very impressed. I came here for brunch yesterday and the menu has such a great variety it is amazing. The staff was amazing as well. I will definitely be coming back because the atmosphere and food options are very affordable!

Dined here the day before Thanksgiving, at my father's suggestion (he knows I'm a fan of locally sourced/seasonal/sustainable/New American/etc. establishments). Had made a reservation for our party of 4 but didn't need it -- the place was only about 1/3 full when we arrived a little after six.Overall it was a very good meal -- the food was excellent but the overall experience was somewhat underwhelming. Felt rushed. No bread when sitting down.

Came here a few times so far since I moved to the neighborhood. The breakfast is delicious, with many sweet and savory choices. We sat outside on the patio in the shade, best vibes.
Be the first to ReplyFrom the second we walked it was a welcoming aura.
Staff was bright and friendly. The modern, urban, industrial vibe filled the air. Although there weren't prepared for vegan guests..... accommodations were made to the existing menu for appetizers and entrees. In addition, there was no vegan dessert option. Overall it was a good dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyEmpanadas taste like doughnut grease.
Meat inside was good. Don't bother with the coffee. Not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service, but I was dissapointed at the food.
The rice was very dry and flavorless. The food was pricey considering the portions they serve. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food then I recommend you go elsewhere because, the tacos were expensive and the rice was flavorless and dry.

Fantastic brunch spot, I love the breakfast sandwiches and the drinks, nice casual atmosphere and I go patio in the summer
Be the first to ReplyWent here for brunch.
Food was cold and took over 30 min to arrive. Taste was ok. Obviously covid has affected staff number and has become mediocre quality now.

The food is good and they have a good selection but it is a bit too pricey compared to other brunch spots. I'd say it's a more of an upscale brunch place. Pretty decent but I was expecting to be wowed
Be the first to ReplyThis place has absolutely seen better days.
Menu selection is minimal. Service feels more like a hot dog joint. Definitely a "to go" type of place if any of the foods items call to you. I ate in my car. Nothing to above average on taste. This all could be due to it s closure do to COVID.

The restaurant has 100% changed! It's carry out/fast food style! It used to be so nice waitresses and waiters very classy atmosphere. Now it's order like a fast food restaurant and paper cups. Half the menu is now gone and so many great food items are gone! I was beyond dissatisfied and disappointed with their new style of restaurant. Definitely will not be back!
Be the first to ReplyThe only bad thing about this place is their schedule.
They are only opened weekends(sad face). The coffee is good. The Mexican breakfast burrito is so good! The chilaquiles are also good. Plenty of tables. Place is clean.Enjoy !

Nana has changed from what it used to be but I'm a big fan of the new format and menu. The ranchero steak breakfast bowl is absolutely outstanding. I recently tried the breakfast sandwiches and was impressed also. The freshness and quality of the ingredients really comes through: love the steak and eggs and brioche bun on the breakfast sandwich, all have a hearty and homecooked, quality feel. This is an excellent choice for breakfast in Bridgeport.
