Kathleen Kilgallon Strohmaier We purchased a Very Berry Pie. We had purchased this same pie many times before. We had purchased it for friends that were coming over for the evening. They had purchased the same pie also before and in fact that is where we first had it was at their home. This time the pie was not 'BERRY" at all, but mostly had apples in it. Our friends commented that it tasted more like apples then berries. It did have a red sauce, but again did not taste like berries at all or anything like the Very Berry Pies we have had many times in the past. We called and talked to the meat manager who said to bring in the receipt and we could either pick out another pie or get a refund. The meat manager was very nice and and wanted to make it right. We decided to just take another pie and picked out the Country Cinimon. The bottom crust was like it was not even cooked. It was mushy and not edible. So today Saturday March 4th I called at 10:30 and asked to speak to a manager. I did not catch his name, but he did say he was the manager on duty. I told him of the problem and all as he said was OK. Did not offer any exchange or refund. I could have brought in the pie and showed him that the bottom crust was not edible, but he really did not want to talk with me or make it right. I have never had such poor customer service from a store manager in my life. He just did not care. At Publix, Kroger's, Harris Teeter, Fresh Market and Whole Foods they always make it right and you would think that a high end food market would make the effort to make it right to retain their customer. If this is the way Nantucket runs their business we will never shop there again although the Meat Manager could not have been nicer, but clearly the manager I spoke with today does not deserve his title.
