Suprisingly good Korean food on your way to Tiger Mountain.
(If your insides can handle the spice for a hike!) For some perspective I have traveled to Korea for work about 25 times and have a good idea on whats good. The nice part of this place is they have a Chinese food korean style part of the menu with Jamppong and Ja Jeong Myeon. My friend had the Jamppong and it was very spicy with lots of seafood. Very tasty and very authentic.I went traditional and had the dolsot bibimbap. Again very tasty and they bring the red pepper sauce to you so you can make it how you like. Side dishes were pretty good, though not thebest I have had in seattle. I thought the prices were a touch high for what you got, but not too bad.At night the place is a Korean kareoke place, so unless you want to be around a bunch of middle aged koreans drinking soju and singing poor renditions of 80s K-pop you should go a little early.
Be the first to ReplyWarning: This place has authentic korean Pork Bulgogi.
It will rip your insides out if you aren't careful. Eat in moderation. Wipe the red sauce off on your rice and drink a liter of Coke after. In other words if the spice doesn't kill you immediately it will later, likely the next morning.Don't take that the wrong way, it is still good and spicey, just dangerous for those who haven't eaten authentic korean pork bulgogi. It ain't like regular beef bulgogi that is all sweet and nice. The pork bulgogi is just above acceptable, everything else at this place is not good. Side dishes are lame, beef is pretty bad, soups are tasteless. The only reason I give two stars is because I know I will be back for the "ok" pork bulgogi when I feel like everything is going okay in my life. It stirs things up a bit and gets you back in touch with reality.

I came here loooong time ago, and as everyone mentioned, it's now under new management!! It's so much better than before. The owner's wife(I'm guessing) was super super nice, she gave us free extra small dishes, explained what kind of food we are having, and food was good too. I'm not Korean, but I feel like they have home style cooking. I like Korean food in Lynnwood and Federal Way, but I really like this one too. I will definitely go back here soon.

They started by turning the grill on, and having a gas leak, so you can imagine the smell in the restaurant where they have a gas leak for at least 10-15 minutes.I had to ask for the drink three times!! They kept forgetting. But the most horrible experience was when the waitress moved me out of my seat, preventing me from eating my dinner while it still worm, and playing with the grill. She fed the person sitting in front of me, while keeping me out of the table for at least 10 minutes. And they don't speak English there, so I couldn't even ask her to get her behind off my face.To summarize - it was the most horrible restaurant experience I have ever had.

Be the first to ReplyI know that the other review on here is a bit much to
I know that the other review on here is a bit much to digest, so let's temper it with my MANY many visits to this place . . . harass them enough, and tip them enough, and they treat you right! They always have the to go orders done FAST and in at least 30 visits have only messed up once! It's a family run business that is PACKED on friday nights, and has had the same waitstaff for the last 3 years (as long as I've been in the area), but the downside is small - sometimes service is slow, and it is closed on Mondays. The food is very well prepared and they even have some old-school korean dishes you can't get at other places - and if you ask for something enough times they'll even start to put it on the menu! The side dishes are varied, and tasty!! Hot tea comes with every meal, but true to Korean-style, you have to ask for water.I've never had a bad meal there. It's inexpensive and good, authentic Korean. My husband's family is Korean, so they are the ones telling me how cool this place is . . . but I just like it so I go . . . short of my MIL's cooking, this place is the place to go for your hankerings of good food without the drama of some other local Korean joints. They have tatami/party rooms, and the place is very well decorated. It's a very cute place to take friends and family, just don't try to go on Monday because they WON'T BE THERE!PS - also true to Korean-style there is no freaking desert.

Seriously. My hubby and I were craving Korean food and were too lazy to drive over to Bellevue or Redmond so we decided to try the neighborhood joint. BIG MISTAKE. When we got there, there were only two full tables...not too busy you say. Well, apparently that's a lot more customers than they're used to because it took the waiter/owner(?) about 10 minutes to get us the menus. Then it was another 10 minutes for her to come and take our order. Then we we waited at least 40 minutes for our food to arrive. It was extremely exasperating to say the least. She could've at least brought out the ban-chan (side dishes) for us to snack on but nope that would've been too considerate. I ordered the dol-sut-bibimbap (rice w/veggies and meat in a earthenware bowl) and my hubby ordered yook-gae-jang (spicy beef soup). She forgot to bring out the go-choo-jang (red pepper sauce) for my dish and it was another five or so minutes before I could catch her attention. There was hardly any veggies and absolutely no meat in my dish, just rice in a bowl. The main reason I even ordered that dish was because it was such a simple dish that I was sure they couldn't mess it up. I guess not! We ate quickly because we wanted to get outta there and we went up to the counter to pay because we didn't want to waste another ten minutes waiting around for her. (We had already spent a good hour or so waiting around various reasons during our dinner here). She made a mistake on the bill and charged our credit card the wrong amount. Then she said she would fix it but she clearly had NO idea what she was doing. Confusion ensued. Even though I speak Korean and kept speaking to her in Korean to clarify what she was saying, she kept speaking to me in her broken English which made things even more confusing. All in all, it was a ridiculously frustrating experience. I could also see other tables getting frustrated at the lack of service. It seriously was probably the worst Korean dining experience I have ever had. You couldn't pay me to go back there again!!!I don't know if I can handle living in Seattle if this is the norm for Korean food! I miss my LA Korean food! :(
