This place is the cutest! It has this classic vibe to it.
Our waiter was great and attentive. I had the Fruit Pancakes with a Cheese Omelette. It was great! He had blueberry pancakes and a Cheese Omelette with a side bacon. Their Large Orange Juice was amazing. I believe it's freshly squeezed. I haven't had orange juice like that in so long! We arrived a little after 7 am was it was just us at first. The crowd started arriving 9 am. I'd recommend anyone to eat here. It was a great visit and is a pretty cool restaurant.

I tried out this diner considering it's close to a lot of curriculars I do and everything was good but the silver wear. With restaurants I'm always skeptical abt drinking from cups without a straw because I'm always afraid of them not washing and my fear was met here. Lip stick stains on "washed" cups. So I started to pay more attention and the rest of the cups were not too clean either. I'm here again with a different group of friends and a whole smudge of who knows what on the cup. They took the cup away before i was able to get a pic, no apology or anything simply just took it away and gets a new one. And they are not easy to work with when it comes to the bill. Barely allow u to pay separate with parties 4+
Be the first to ReplyI love this place.
It's like an elevated classic diner. The food is really delicious, the desserts will put you in a coma, and the prices are fair. Will be returning!
Be the first to ReplyFun, yummy, exciting bustling setting and authentic staff.
Came for my 13 yo's birthday brunch.
Be the first to ReplyI had an amazing chicken sandwich.
This diner deserves more credit than it gets on Yelp. They offer an elevated diner experience with food made with quality, fresh ingredients.

Every time I've stepped into this restaurant, I've NEVER received any service. Their hospitality is atrocious. The waiters literally ignore me. Every.time. Their lack of service reeks of racial discrimination.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time trying this diner.
Had a vibrant atmosphere and it looked newly remodeled. I loved the vibe and staff was friendly and attentive. The chocolate milkshake was delicious, sweet and rich tasting. The pancakes were also great, I thought it was a perfect amount and the fruit tasted fresh, pancakes were soft fluffy and sweet. Unfortunately the Turkey BLT was not very good. It tasted very plain, I thought they could've done more with it. I would come back.
Be the first to ReplyWe eat here often as they have heated and air-conditioned
We eat here often as they have heated and air-conditioned outdoor booths which provide excellent climate control, and safe isolation during the various Covid waves. The food is typical diner, food but done in an excellent fashion. We particularly enjoy the Greek and Cobb salads. The service is friendly And reservations are honored. If you are in the Lincoln Center area and want a reasonably priced meal, you won't go wrong at Old Johns.

Pretty good diner overall! I got the chicken club and it was good! Was sad they didn't have onion rings. I came with a group of about 10 people without a reservation and didn't have to wait long

She had such a great experience recently at Old John's- it just reopened recently and she says it was very special. The menu, the service and the food was all perfect. The manager Ruben, is eager to please and went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable. There is a little closed safe indoor/ outdoor cabanas. They are heated and cozy. This is a great addition to the neighborhood!
Be the first to ReplyI discovered Old John's Diner when my significant other
I discovered Old John's Diner when my significant other moved to the Upper West Side and it quickly became a favorite of both of ours. The food is absolutely delicious, they have a full bar and their drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are amazing and their service is beyond compare. It may sound crazy to say but this diner is my favorite restaurant in the Upper West Side and I highly recommend it.Special shout-out to Kathy and Pedro who are incredible people.
Be the first to ReplyUpdate: Gluten free options EXTREMELY Limited.
I really love this place, they are wonderful place to sit at the bar w a drink, but since been diagnosed with celiacs my options are now an omelette & fries or treating myself to a full $30 entree, when I normally just come for bar food. They do let me bring my own gluten free bread for things, which I appreciate, but I wish they carried options themselves, as it's hard to carry gluten-free bread in my purse on the off chance I need a drink and snack after work. Hopefully this changes!!
Be the first to ReplyI found this old fashioned little diner at West 67th Street
I found this old fashioned little diner at West 67th Street close to Lincoln Center. It is quite a gem amongst all the far more pricey Broadway fare. This place has a decent breakfast menu, so you can get a good hot breakfast, like maybe just before catching a show nearby or at the Met Opera, so I stopped in with some friends when we all had the urge for some fluffy pancakes and bacon/eggs and fresh squeezed OJ! The juice was great. We split some potatoes and shared the pancakes. My favorite kind are usually blueberry pancakes but my girlfriend and her sister did not want sweet stickiness on their teeth all day, so we got plain. Wait staff was very friendly as we split many plates and mixed & matched our orders a bit. We could stay and chat as long as we wanted; no rush to get us out of there. I'm thinking I'll come by for lunch sometime. The food was good/fresh and it filled us up.
Be the first to ReplyGood food at easy prices.
Tip them well! Staff deserves your gratitude. Accommodated 5 of us easily. Efficient and friendly. Old diner decor made us smile (maybe because we are senior diners)
Be the first to ReplyWent here for date night.
Me and my partner chose the outdoor seating, because the outdoor seating setup was so cute and well done. I enjoyed the privacy of it quite a bit, and it made the experience so much better. The menu is short enough that you can actually read all of it, and the page design was really good. A very good looking menu. The prices weren't ideal, but for a good meal on the Upper West Side, we were expecting it would be on the more expensive side....If it had been a good meal. We ended up sharing the fish and chips and... meh, incredibly meh. The fries were good, I suppose, but the fried fish was very underwhelming. It was flavorless, weirdly damp inside, and greasy-but-not-in-the-good-way. I would not order again. If we had ordered two things, maybe there'd be a higher chance one of them was good, but since we split the fish and chips is was just very underwhelming.I was expecting a more elevated diner location. I feel like Old John's was more of a typical diner with elevated prices.

5 stars, but the interface won't allow it.I've lived on the UWS for a long time, but never tried Old John's until last night. Pros: the Braised Short Rib was tasty and tender (although I really couldn't find the promised "crispy shallots"), with real mashed potatoes and a lovely sauce. The staff were pleasant and attentive and the restroom was clean - a big deal for NY. Cons: Not many. Got green beans instead of broccolini, but the portion was tiny, and, of course, the absent shallots. :)I'll be back.
Be the first to ReplyWent here today for breakfast, and as it's literally right
Went here today for breakfast, and as it's literally right around the corner, it'll probably be my regular sit down breakfast spot. I had a latte and an omelet with spinach, caramelized onion, Gruyère, and added some well cooked bacon into the mix. That junk was good. Egg portion was plain and then the ingredients were wrapped inside of it. I'm getting used to it--maybe the mixing in of ingredients with the egg is a midwestern thing. Really liked the vibe of this place. It seems to have been recently remodeled. But still has a very nice classic look to it. Looked like it also had a full bar. And they serve egg creams. But the main thing to me was the omelette, which was killer. Also the music selection. Whoever is in charge of the music, at least today, was on point. Some of the reviews almost scared me off of this spot. I was pleasantly surprised.
Be the first to ReplyCurrently writing this review while waiting for my food,
Currently writing this review while waiting for my food, the service is terrible. I came here with 7 other friends, 8 in total. We split our table in two and four of us, including myself, we're seated in the front. But for some reason, the other table of my friends (who are all white/white passing) get better service and are allowed to order right away. They get served while at my table (all people of color) are still waiting to order. We ask kindly to order and a waitress answers in the most rude tone, especially considering we are all clearly teenagers. Business is business. There is no need to be rude to nice customers. We've been here for an hour, still haven't been served. Never coming back. Wish yelp would allow me to put 0 stars.
Be the first to ReplyA disappointment.
Hadn't been since the renovations. We were party of 4 for early dinner on Saturday. Were seated right away. Great! All downhill from there. Service was atrocious. Slow but also rude. As for food, it was half and half. Sandwiches were fine. French fries were cold. Burger was meh. Pancakes (child's order) were a bust. Luke warm at best and really had no taste. Should have stuck with Westside Restaurant on 69th. Always a sure thing.
Be the first to ReplyA great local place if you're cruising the west side.
Great burgers fantastic salads amazing service. A great NYC experience. Make sure you order dessert
Be the first to ReplyIt's bad food, overpriced, skimpy unbalanced portions.
Drinks and food are just not good.

Recently renovated diner with a well stocked bar and great service. It has a balanced menu of classics and contemporary dishes (including vegetarian options) at fair prices. Service was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyI really want to love this place.
It's a cute neighborhood spot with the nicest people. It feels like an old school diner and has resurrected an old neighborhood favorite, but each time I've gone, the food has left something to be desired. From burgers that were undercooked and had soggy buns and crispless fries to apple pie with completely dry crust. Every once in a while, you'll get something solid, like the pictured blueberry pie that I definitely enjoyed. But overall, for the price, my experience just hasn't been worth it thus far. I'm sure I'll be back for another try, because it's still early on in their existence. I'm rooting for this place and hoping they do well!
Be the first to ReplyDecent environment but unfortunately the omelette
Decent environment but unfortunately the omelette potatoes, toast and hash browns lacked flavor. The food was very mediocre for $20. I wouldn't recommend this place
Be the first to ReplyPlease do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant.
The sweet potato mash was gritty and flavorless, worse than baby food. The pot pie lacked any speck of seasoning and had waaaaayyy too many shallots. It was honestly irredeemable. And my spouses salad dressing had an underlying bitterness. We've lived in NY for awhile and rarely had a bad meal. This, unfortunately, was the first.
