We had a late Friday night reservation for 5, everyone was so dang friendly and wore the coolest jumpsuits. The "outdoor" table back in the hideaway felt like an extension of the restaurant & the temp was perfect. The cocktails were on point, who knew you could make a drink taste exactly like bubblegum? And the lil mai tai sushi shots really spoke to my inner teen. The food was divine. They are small plates - so we ordered almost everything on the menu (we didn't get the turnip, the cabbage, or the burger) but we got 2 orders of rice. They were out of fried chicken, so we happily ordered a second char siu pork platter. Everything was so good! - I wish I could sleep on a bed of their roti every night. - The tempura fried green beans & the winter raita salad blew my expectations out of the water. - My friend thought the wonton mee was a bit too fishy. I mostly agree, and I think it was less spectacular in comparison to the other dishes. - The spicy katong laksa was fire. I mixed it in with some rice to absorb the spice & happily sniffled my way through it. All in all, we left with full bellies and happy hearts. I'd strongly recommend Oma's Hideaway. And if you can swing it, I recommend getting ~2 dishes/person + an extra rice, and sharing everything family style.
