Fabulous best dinner in St. Barths. Service and food are excellent grilled octopus, sea bass and most anything on the small menu
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Japanese bbq experience
Amazing dinner! Despite some bad reviews and after recommandations from locals we decided to give it a go and we did well!! Everything was delicious! Fantastic taste and really good service. Expensive but definitely worths it! The food is amazing, drinks are nothing special but good, and the service is very friendly and attentive. We took some appetisers to share, duck gyoza were exceptional. Our entrees, lamb shoulder and tuna, cooked on a Japanese barbecue were perfectly cooked and well presented. Plates selection is gorgeous. One of the best meal we had in St barth, one of a kind. Would have been sad to miss it. Thank you for experience!
Be the first to ReplyAvoid at all Costs - this place is terrible!!!!!
Awful!!! Worst restaurant experience of my life and that’s saying alot! Fishy tasting tuna appetizer made for a dismal start. Salmon appetizer tasteless. Sea bass was under cooked and sent back. DO NOT hesitate to send food back, better yet don’t go here! To many other better choices! Leeks were burned. 170 Euro steak needed a microscope to find the meat. Just awful and ridiculously over priced for the experience. Warning! Do not go here. Recently sold and chef is terrible!!!!!

I can only assume, given the number of good reviews, that Orega is incredibly inconsistent. If that's the case, then we went on what I hope would be one of their worst nights. When we were seated, in what I acknowledge is a very attractive space, we were told there is no drink menu, but "tell me what types of drinks you prefer and I will make you something wonderful." That sounded interesting so we all shared our preferred spirits and level of sweetness/taste. She disappeared to create our surprises, and returned with drinks that I am certain were made with commercial mixer (very sweet, despite a specific preference otherwise) combined with the spirits we recommended. Interestingly the person who asked for a sweeter drink got what tasted like a champagne sour. Terribly disappointing, all for different reasons. We ordered both appetizer specials to share at the table and that was definitely the highlight of the meal as the duck gyoza and temaki "tacos" were quite good. We should've left at that point. When our entrees arrived (lamb shoulder, sea bass, salmon, and beef onglet), each of them appeared small (which was ok as we probably ordered too much food anyway), but they also appeared to be cut from the very thin, tail end of the fish or flank. They all tasted ok but none of the four were particularly noteworthy. What was noteworthy was that one member of our party bit down on a piece of glass in his sea bass. He put the baby tooth sized sharp shard of glass on the table and showed the server, out of concern for other diners, given that something had obviously broken into the kitchen and found its way into at least one, if not multiple dishes. The server appeared mortified and was appropriately apologetic. At about the same time we overheard the party next to us sending back their chicken skewers to be "cooked more", and joking that perhaps they mistakenly ordered chicken sushi instead of chicken skewers. We went ahead and ordered desert (chocolate crepe cake and tarte tatin). When the desserts arrived, we were told that they were out of crepe cake so they brought a baked Alaska instead! Also offered was a third dessert which was some type of ice cream and fruit concoction as an apology for the glass embedded in the seabass. The desserts tasted uniformly terrible. I didn't check the final bill to see if we were charged for the baked Alaska substitute dessert because I was so stunned to see the seabass still on the bill. We paid and left, grateful that the evening didn't end even more unfortunately with an injury from swallowing a shard of glass. I cannot recommend this place for anything other than the tasty appetizers, and servers who seem like they want to do a good job but are completely clueless as to how to handle service failures whether they be great or small. Even then, it feels like a roll of the dice which I won't ever be interested in trying again.

Modern fusion kitchen. Absolutely amazing dishes. Choice is not huge as the restaurant is quite small and all is fresh. Portions are adequate as the idea is to order a number of smaller dishes. Service is excellent. Location is excellent. Some street noise comes in through open windows butvso does welcome fresh air. Prices are high but that is st.Barth!

Tasteless food. Waste of a dinner in St Barth. Comment dire "joke" en français. My wife accuses me of eating anything, which ought to dispel any notion that i am some snooty foodie.
Be the first to ReplyThe experience makes Orega a delicious must!
Chef Otega was a true gem. His clear love of food was evident in every delicious bite. The waiter was also so attentive and kind. The ambiance was a delight. He had just re-opened after a hiatus and as foodies, we count ourselves lucky to have experienced his return to the food scene on St. Barths. While the portions were small as others mentioned, it was the experience that counted the most.
Be the first to ReplyA bit of a letdown.
The restaurant had a great setting and the menu was fun but at the end of our extremely expensive meal I think we were all still hungry. For those prices we should be full at the end of our meal.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food…small portions
We loved the restaurant. Great staff, food and service. The only issue is that the portions were tiny, but very expensive for what we received. When we went back to our hotel, the bartender asked where we ate and he said that multiple guests had come back from eating here and ordered sandwiches and other food items because they were famished after eating there! The eel sushi “roll” was outstanding….just super tiny for lots of money!!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a nice surprise with the food!
Everything was so delicious is this fusion of asian with french food. No complains here. they made great suggestions for us and they were all very tasty
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Food, and amazing service
Amazing meal. Everything was delicious and the team running the restaurant were so attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Such an enjoyable experience. They divided everything we ordered in half for us (party of two), making sharing a few plates extremely enjoyable. One of our favorite meals in St Barths. The Tuna Kanzo is a must try.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing unique combination of food and personality
From the moment we walked in to the open air beautiful space, it was like we were being welcomed by family. Smiles all around ….we are glad to see you. With its small intimate venue and creative!! cuisine, we were transported to France, (ahem) Japan. Actually both. The servers were friendly, interested, amazing, fun “partners” in our experience. I was interested in a Japanese whiskey and the bartender came over to the table and with a big smile guided us through. A great final night in st Barths!
Be the first to ReplyFirst Time There - Nice Experience
Our group of four went to Orega for the first time a couple of months ago. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. As for the food, it's very creative and quite tasty, but we all agreed it wasn't quite worth the price. We may be back.
Be the first to ReplyUnique Dining
Orega was definitely one of the more unique restaurants I have been to! A fusion I've never experienced. The atmosphere is super cute. The service is exceptional! Everyone was outstanding. One of the best I've had! They made the experience even better. My favorite dish was the smoked duck sushi. It was awesome. We also had the tuna foi gras, which was delicious. My only problem would be that I was with my husband there for the first time, just the two of us. A couple of the items we ordered came with 10 pieces. So I had to eat 5 pieces of Tuna/foi gras, which got a bit overwhelming of the same flavor. I would have likes to try something else rather than have the same 4 rolls. That would be my only suggestion for the restaurant. But I'd definitely go back to try more!
Be the first to ReplySuch a cool culinary experience!
We had such a great time at Orega! The food was all delicious, especially loved the smoked duck sushi and the tuna/foi gras appetizer. Cocktails were also delicious and the staff was so welcoming.

So many fantastic restaurants in St Barth, but this has easily become my favorite. Incredible food in a beautiful setting with first class service. Tuti makes you feel like family: I congratulate her and her chef husband, Clement on building a culinary empire.
Be the first to ReplyBest Dinner on the Island
This place is amazing. We had a lot of good meals on the island, in fact all of the meals were solidly good. But Orega is next level both in food and service. The menu is very inventive -- reminds me of some of the best in the world in Europe and Latin America. The service was not only kind but attentive. I can't recommend this place more highly, and we went to quite a few of their competitors but Orega truly shinned.
Be the first to ReplyCreative, but not sufficiently Japanese
This highly recommended restaurant that features a fusion of French and Japanese cuisines seems to lean much more heavily on the French than the Japanese styles. Having lived in Japan for two years, we found that disappointing. For instance, someone had posted in a previous review a menu that included interesting choices of individual sushi and sashimi pieces, but we were told this week that the menu had changed, and that was no longer an option. In fact, there wasn’t much recognizable as traditional Japanese food, the kind the Japanese actually eat. I admire the creativity drive of the chef, but we were looking for more of a Japanese experience, and not so much a French “take” on Japanese food. Admittedly, others may want what is offered here, but we had difficulty finding on the menu what we would consider real Japanese cuisine. Having said that, the service was extremely pleasant and attentive, truly extraordinary. Now, if the menu could be expanded a bit …
Be the first to ReplyDidn’t live up to the hype.
Literally 10 items on the whole menu. My hope was that with so little to focus on, each would be amazing but In Reality it was just ok. Sure, there was some creativity and some interesting flavors that I didn’t expect to come together, but did (like the tuna and foie gras appetizer)But the sushi was slightly tough, and a bit fishy. Nothing really stood out as a memorable dish. We were on st barths for 7 nights and this was dead last in our ranking.
The Real kicker was the prices of the food. 50-60 euros for a single sushi roll appetizer. Yes. Appetizer. Main courses were 70 euros and up. Portions were small.
The wines were not the usual triple retail that we expect in st barths but more
Like quadruple.
On the bright side the staff were
Exceptional.
Some people really love this place. I just don’t see it.
Orega is out of this world!
This was one of our favorite dining experiences…ever! The food was exceptional and the staff welcomed you in like an old friend and made you feel right at home. Every table was full yet we never felt neglected or hurried and every single person there did everything to enhance our time. The food is superb. The tuna appetizer with foie gras was something I couldn’t even imagine and was indescribably delicious and I don’t even like foie gras! The Ono roll was oh so good with the yuzu truffle sauce and the miso sea bass was delectable. Seriously, seriously loved Orega!

Absolutely fabulous! Probably the best food in St Barts. Delicious, sophisticated blend of flavors and a beautiful presentation.
The staff was warm, welcoming and very friendly.
The setting was attractive and modern and only enhanced our dining experience.
We already look forward to our next trip to St Barts so we can return.
Don’t miss Orega when you visit St. Barths.
On our 2 week trip we always save two nights for Orega. It is a special evening full of delicious flavors and the most welcoming staff .
Be the first to ReplyWonderful way to spend an evening
Beautiful restaurant with the loveliest and most welcoming staff and most delicious food. The sea bass was amazing and the experience was wonderful.
Be the first to ReplyYep, it is as good as what everyone is saying!
Wonderful experience. I had read a lot of reviews and articles in advance of our visit and felt pretty comfortable that we we enjoy the experience. But honestly, even with higher expectations, I would say that they delivered and probably exceeded expectations. We had a mixed group of foodies and non-foodies, dietary restrictions, etc. Everyone enjoyed the experience. First, the staff was a combination of welcoming, fun, coordinated, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was an interesting fusion as promised and included Wagyu beef, duck, lamb, tuna, and more. The environment was hip, but not too stuffy - kind of like St Barts vibe in general. Don’t hesitate to try!

Great night! Staff was amazing - very welcoming and friendly. The food and drinks were fantastic. My son sat and watched the sushi chef make his Toro roll - couldn’t have been nicer. Great experience.
