Osteria Da Fortunata - Milano Brera Reviews
Be aware og the mosquitoes…..
Amazing pasta, really 10/10! Unfortunately, we did not get the time to enjoy our food because of the mosquitoes!! Oh my.. there was so many, it even got in my food as well, not very pleasant.. Such a shame that this ruined a bit of the experience. Planned on getting some wine and dessert, but had to eat in a hurry. Just be aware of mosquitoes and buy a spray or something. Would also recommend to get a table reservation to avoid the line. The food and staff was really nice! :)
Great fresh pasta
Great spot for hot days of the summer with great staff and of course very good pasta Try the AMATRICIANA SCIAVATELLI, very very good!!! Not perfect because eggplant dish was a bit underwhelming, but not bad
Good meal
The pasta was great. Service was a bit disjointed, I feel they aren’t staffed enough for the volume they do. We got there 15 min before they opened for lunch and got a table right at open. Long line formed quickly and lasts all day. Overall a good meal, but I wouldn’t wait in a long line to eat there. For me it’s was a “been there, done that” experience, I wouldn’t rush back.
Vegetarians
Very crowded, if asked sit out side or downstairs as up stairs can get stuffy. For vegetarians I ordered the pesto pasta which was lovely but would recommend the cheese and pepper or the tomato and basil.
Strongly Recommended
Great place and great attention. Edna was amazing taking care of people. Very welcoming person! It is a place to be; the quality of pasta is simply amazing
Great little lunch spot
Lovely food, a very busy and popular place with locals and tourists. We went for lunch and had to wait around 10/15 mins for a table which was not bad considering the place has become so popular from social media. We sat Inside was fine as it was too hot to sit outside. The menu took a long time to come so was tempted to just get one myself which was within arms reach. A great little place which was not full of tourists. Would def go back for the pasta we had.
Service is no good, the food ok, but too expensive.
We booked a table for 4 at 20:00. We arrived at 20:10 and the table was gone. We had to wait 30 minutes, no one was able to speak with us, not even in english and even the menu arrived like 15 minutes after we seat. At least the pasta was good, except the cacio and pepe that arrived cold, and was like a stone. They cut it of from the bill. The deserts were ok. In my opinion too expensive, os not worth it.
They make pasta in front of you!
We loved it here! Traditional food absolutely brilliant pasta and the tiramisu was to die for! Highly recommend if you’re wanting good fresh pasta!

The most authentic pasta in Milano
Such a brilliant experience! We sat right next to the angels making the pasta! The food was absolutely first class. There a no wonder a huge cue was gathering to get in! Such authenticity love and passion. Thank you
Delicious food and great customer service!
Fantastic customer service, the waiter Arif was so attentive and made our dinner here very enjoyable. The food was insanely delicious and so reasonably priced. It makes complete sense why there’s always a massive queue down the street for this restaurant, couldn’t recommend more if you’re in Milan.
Delicious carbonara!
It’s very close to the metro station. They make their own pasta and everyone can see it from the outside windows! Went with my fiancé and we both chose the carbonara! And there’s a variety of wines you can order to eat with it! We loved it!
Great food
Came upon this restaurant by chance and was lucky enough to get a table for lunch. Great pasta, freshly made (you can see it been made through the window). Carbonara was exceptional. Tiramasu was also good. Go early to get a seat, highly recommended.
Homemade Pasta and Live Demonstration!
Milan in general, was a bit more expensive eating out than Rome. But we were seated right beside the window where we could see 2 ladies taking turns making fresh pasta, so it was made an unique experience. The pasta tasted very good, but if you like right-on-the-dot Al Dente, this place's pasta doneness was a tad under Al Dente. It was really a personal preference but maybe for some, the pasta can use an extra 1 or 2 minutes to be cooked. We also tried the Oxtail dish and it was very good - rich in sauce and meat was juicy.
Best Pasta in Milan
We ordered 3 different types of pasta and all were excellent. Good portion, freshly made pasta and authentic recipes. Good service from our waiter. The osteria does not take bookings and you May need to wait for a table at busy hours but still worth it.
Didn't live up to expectations
Went there for a lunch and had a mixed experience. Tables were too close to each other and we were constantly being hit by the waitress/guests passing by which was very disturbing while eating. (no one apologised). Ordered a pasta and ravioli. Pasta was very delicious however ravioli had a very salty taste which really put me off and I could hardly finish it. Given the prices per item, quality of food should be improved. Very limited options available for Vegan/Vegetarian.
Deffo worth a visit
Luca was an amazing waiter! Recommend. Cheesecake 10/10 we went later on in the evening and there was no queue
Popular spot with good pasta!
The pasta was fantastic! Rich flavour and perfect al dente, staff was treating us very well, just be prepared for a full restaurant ( we came around 22.00 but was lucky to get two seats) we will come back!
Overrated and overpriced
Came here for our last meal in Milan after hearing such great reviews. Managed to get a table quite quickly (lunch time on a Tuesday in March) but we were quite disappointed and wished we’d gone somewhere else. The pasta was ok but both the sauces (ragú & veal sauce) were very salty. No Parmesan or pepper offered and I had to ask for these. The price was too much for what we had - €18 per plate of pasta, €5 each for a small beer and €4 per person cover charge, which we thought was very strange when the table cloths and napkins were paper. Total cost €54 for two plates of pasta and 2 beers. Service was ok but it was clear they were trying to turn the tables over quickly. When we paid, they asked how the meal was, we said it was only ok but not worth the price and they said there was nothing they could do as that was the price. There are much better places in Milan with better food and service for a cheaper price.
BEST Meal in Milan🇮🇹🍝
Me and my partner went here on our first night and it was absolutely amazing, Georgio served us and was friendly, attentive and kind! The food quality was 10/10 and for reasonable prices. We loved it so much that we retuned on the 3rd night & tried all different dishes which were all just as delicious. You have to come here if you visit Milan!
