Where not to go if you're hungry in Matera
Highly not recommended! Empty place at 9.50pm....from there you could already understand why, but by now we were inside, and we defied the "fate" which promised to be sad....then inexorably confirmed. Ordered 4 pizzas at exaggerated prices absurd, (like the rest of the menu at 4 star gourmet prices) given the terrible quality of the dough and the pickled or spoiled artichokes! And hold on tight... the pizza arrives already cut into wedges! It wasn't even on the takeaway box. I asked about the oil which I didn't use........it was on the plastic oil cruets 80s those with vinegar, salt and pepper, strictly without caps. I assume it was olive because it was nice green! Peroni beer in a bottle was "the best" offer they had for the blonde. Bangladeshi staff courteous and polite. very beautiful view of the stones. cute but beautiful quirky decor. Very large clean room, even the bathroom. Ultimately, one of the many TOURIST TRAPS that do little for our tourism. I hope it changes management!

Characteristic restaurant, a bit crowded with only one toilet for men and one for women, food not excellent perhaps because we had a tourist lunch, the traditional pasta was not seasoned well and was cold, the second course left us wanting rosbeef with a sour flavour, the wine it was good, you had to pay for the coffee separately I don't know why. Overall the panoramic view consoles you, it can be done

Typical place for tourists. We took the crostini (4 pieces) topped with packaged giardiniera....they weren't worth the cost. Not recommended!
Be the first to ReplyInedible pizza that makes you feel sick
I chose this place because it was all full apparently it looked nice as soon as you entered it smelled awful I immediately ordered a pizza because it was late for the fish and the pizza was pre-cooked really horrendous tomatoes and mozzarella poor crust and underneath very burnt quality for the price horrendous things that I ordered, I paid less even in a starred restaurant, I don't recommend it even to my worst enemy, a very ugly place

So first of all the lasagna is not made with ham and instead of the bรฉchamel there is mozzarella and the sauce is very sugary, the orecchiette according to my friend are good at least, the chips are raw and soft. The only good thing is the vanilla ice cream

Very nice views in this typical restaurant with good service Too bad at lunch not being able to eat a pizza Dessert good

Prices too high compared to the quality of the dishes. Unwelcoming and uncharacteristic environment. There is better in Matera, but the friendliness of the staff is certainly to be appreciated.

Place located in the historic center of the city of stones with a typical location. Menu with wide choice and excellent quality. Helpful and kind staff. I will definitely be back!!

Crazy prices for poor quality food. It's a shame that it has a beautiful view and that this is debased with a restaurant like this.
Be the first to ReplyNice view, terrible food
I gave two stars instead of one because the location is very beautiful and you have lunch with a Sassi view. Price ok for a city like Matera but the quality is mediocre. Appetizers based on aubergines, peppers in oil with a strong hint of vinegar which I also found chopped in the sauce of the first course. I tasted the vinegar in the sauce, a disgusting experience, like a nice looking meat but the taste seemed a little dated. I ate out of hunger. It was the only empty place at lunch time. I should have understood why.

Shameful raw and cold pasta second inedible terrible service. Ah, to console us they brought us a reheated tart which was obviously old.

I went with friends. Shabby place, canteen food and gourmet restaurant prices. We paid a lot.

Don't come in! It's a steal...two plates of bruschetta, a first course and a second course of old meat, 80 euros...really worth mentioning! And let's hope we don't feel bad too!

Classic tourist restaurant with high prices, small portions and poor quality. The cavatelli with mushrooms and sausage was served cold and with soft pasta. The pizzas are acceptable, but with exorbitant prices, while the crapiata is a mini portion. The spaghetti with broad bean cream and mushrooms is very good. The starter of cold cuts and cheeses is good, but small in quantity considering the price of โฌ25. The house wine is good and the waiter is very kind and helpful. The view of the stones is beautiful, but the room is very old with somewhat gloomy furnishings. I don't recommend it.
