Best risotto ever!
The chef created a risotto topped with scallops that is the best risotto that I have ever tasted. I will state (not to brag, but to give reference) that I am a risotto expert and have made over 70 risotti. This dish at Osteria Langhe has to be tasted to be believed. Other choices on the menu are also delicious and worth the trip.

This restaurant impressed - from the friendly staff to the ambiance and delicious food! Make sure to try the Flan and Crespella (vegetarian crepes) and if you like cocktails, get the Liquid Sunshine. It can get a bit noisy, but also feels intimate with the dark interior and low lighting.

Had a phenomenal meal at Osteria Langne! The risotto in particular was spectacular, definitely one of the must-eat dishes in Chicago! I loved the atmosphere, and the staff was extremely friendly! A super cute and cozy space where you still feel like you have privacy while dining. Highly recommend!

The pasta is all homemade, the wine is ridiculous in its variety and quality and the ambience is friendly, comfortable and vibrant. Taking some friends later this month. A Chicago Italian “Must go”
Be the first to Replywonderful and great wine list
my flight was delayed and a bartender at another restaurant had recommended this place (you know it is good when they do that) so I decided to try it. Jenn was right, what a secret gem!!! Being it was Tuesday, I had the trifecta dinner. I was delicious! I will be dreaming of their Plin (like gnocchi and agnolotti had a baby) for a long while. The rabbit dish was superb. A beautiful little restaurant in a fun part of town (I went to a gin bar down the street too). Excellent for people who appreciate good wine and great food.

Went here for a birthday celebration. Cozy little Osteria. The service was excellent! The food was different and mostly very good. The cauliflower flan was excellent. While I prefer a softer rolled gnocchi, these were good and the fungi (mushrooms) were very generous and made the dish. The rabbit was excellent but the pork tasted warmed over and not very good. Bread was extra $6.00. We love Italian bread and got an order but very disappointed. Not very good Italian bread and to have to pay extra for it was unacceptable. We had two cocktails and a bottle of wine. We shared a panna cotta and a crumble, a nice ending with expresso and Sambuca. Did I mention the service was excellent!!! ;)

Had a fantastic meal. Be sure to order numerous selections and share. You will love all the wonderful tastes you are treated to with their menu.
If you are lucky enough to have Ashley as your server the experience will only be better.
Most highly recommended is the Polipo, and Gnocchi- be sure to spring for the black truffle on this dish.
Hope you love it as much as we did!
Wonderful Anniversary Dinner
I had been wanting to try this restaurant so we used our anniversary as a perfect excuse. We were not disappointed. The restaurant was surprisingly small, but we were rewarded with some spectacular food. I had the plin with the ragu, and the sauce was some of the best I've ever tasted. My wife opted for a risotto special, which she loved. We topped it off with a bottle of Piemontese wine, and panna cotta for dessert, and left very happy and satisfied. I would mention that the portion sizes of the primi selections are not huge, so if you're a big eater, you're going to want a starter or need to move on to the larger entrees. But for us it was perfect.

Enjoyed a fabulous Italian meal wit family and friends. Piedmont region influences on wine list and menu. Delightful starters and primi and secondi selections. Ragu and Risotto were great. Served hot and flavorful. Attentive service.
Highly recommend.
Mexican?
Due to transfer I didn't go for a while and now I found this restaurant completely changed. I don't know what's happened but everything is now much more spicy than Mexican food!!! Sincerely I can't find anymore the Italian flavors from Piedmont, it's a pity! Very disappointing :-(
Be the first to ReplySome changes are....
Some changes are not good changes. I really loved this restaurant for it's authentic Piedmonte dishes. Change happens but it's not always a good thing. Butter for the bread, pork, risotto, chicken sausage all more spicy than a typical good Mexican restaurant. The wine list here is still superb. Dessert a little disappointing and limoncello that was basically handmade American lemonade sans alcohol. Still $8 for probably an ounce of lemon flavored sugar water. The owner is a great guy and may not know what goes on when he's not there. None the less, mistakes....more than a couple... highly spicy... not traditional cooking....iffy after dinner drinks. I'm sorry to say is likely off the restaurant rotation list for an extended period or permanently. Service however was still excellent and lots of considerate apologies, but we go out to enjoy food not for apologies and a disappointing evening that was still above average in price.
Be the first to ReplyCool and cosy restaurant with fantastic flavorful dishes
Really delicious food starting from starters to main dishes. Small dishes but the flavor is awesome especially the octopus, rabbit loin, roasted salmon and tajarin noodle!
