Here's what you need to know: this is a review of the winter menu when we dined in early Mar 2023. This is one of those rare times when I had heard so much about a restaurant but it flat out underwhelmed and disappointed. Amazing concept and ethos behind the restaurant but the execution of the menu is just weak. Flavors are lacking, homogenized, and - in my opinion - lacked creativity. The texture and flavor profile of most things on the menu were so similar (so much mush, porridge, and grit like textures that it immediately became stale - metaphorically speaking g) that they were indistinguishable. And it is quite expensive for what you get.Service was fine - a little uppity and aloof - but not unkind. Basically no emotion or warmth through the interactions. The tartare didn't have the complexity or quality I was hoping for. The elk loin was such a basic seasoning and preparation, one that you could expect as a basic restaurant or at a novice cook's table. The only thing unique was that is was elk meat? I didn't understand that lack of effort at all.I have to imagine that the summer and fall menus are a lot more rewarding. We spend about $480 on 4 persons with 18% service charge and another 18% tip
