Well it's official the parkway grill has become again my husband and I favorite restaurant. We have gone twice in the past 3 weeks and had the fish special Halibut and last night the Sea Bass. On both occasions the fish was cooked perfectly. I want to give a shout out to the staff also making the salads. We had the salad special last night with greens, blue cheese, grapes and almonds. It was gorgeous plated and dressed perfectly. I had the dessert special the strawberry shortcake. Okay this should be a regular dessert on the menu. I understand strawberries are seasonal. I can suggest blueberries., peaches or plums. That short cake was the star. Not over sweet, light and airy Our server was Holly She was personable and pleasant.
Pretty reliable good cuisine.
Usually has good cutting meat, since it's under common ownership with Arroyo Chop House.

I've been a return diner at the Parkway for more than 25 years and it has always been excellent--excellent food, excellent service, beautiful ambiance. It's what I call a destination restaurant--a place worthy of the drive even if it's not so close by. I discovered the Parkway when I lived in Glendale in the 90s. Now, a few moves later, I'm about a half-hour farther west of Pasadena but--especially on special occasions--I still make the drive and I'm always glad when I do! If you've never been, you owe it to yourself, to discover what is unquestionably one of LA's best restaurants. And in a place like LA, with so many stellar choices, the Parkway is no small achievement!

Parkway Grill has been a special occasion spot for us for decades, and it has never disappointed. The food is always delicious, gourmet in a way I find very approachable. The service is so personal, we have an old family story about the lesson in wine pairing we were gifted on one visit. I didn't care for wine at the time, but the manager brought us two glasses, on the house, of the wine he recommended for our steaks. It was the first time I understood how not only does the right wine makes a steak taste better, but the steak can also enhance the flavor of the wine. My most recent Parkway Grill memory is of a lovely birthday meal that included a handwritten birthday card from the staff. Details matter, and Parkway Grill masters them.

When the server and the manager make you feel it was a mistake to come here...you're in the wrong place. My skin color may be brown but my money is still green. Shameful. Oh and the sourdough was stale.

Parkway Grill proved to be an exquisite choice for a romantic evening out. From the moment we were greeted by our server and introduced to the weekly specials, we knew we were in for a treat. Opting for the bone-in prime rib, lamb chop, mushrooms, potato, and crème brûlée, each dish surpassed our expectations. The server's recommendation of the old fashioned from their extensive whiskey selection was spot on. Every bite was a culinary delight, with both the steak and lamb cooked to a perfect medium rare and bursting with flavor. Notably, the lamb lacked any undesirable odors, and the seasoning elevated the taste to new heights. The crispy exterior of the potato was a delightful surprise, adding a satisfying crunch to each forkful. Portions were generous, making sharing a breeze. Our choice of drinks, including the margarita and old fashioned, showcased Parkway Grill's dedication to quality and craftsmanship. The whiskey, in particular, stood out for its rich aroma and smooth finish. The ambiance of Parkway Grill was ideal for a romantic evening, with dim lighting creating an intimate atmosphere. Whether you're on a date or simply craving a memorable dining experience, Parkway Grill comes highly recommended.

DRINKS WERE AMAZING.... RECOMMEND GOING WITH YOUR GIRLIES. FOOD WAS OKAY. BUT WAS REALLY THERE FOR DRINKS MORE
Ten stars!!
I wish I could give this place ten stars! It was AMAZING - by far the best restaurant we have eaten at in Pasadena, and that town had some great food. The service is impeccable, the food is fantastic - the flavors, preparedness, options - YUM!! The bartender also has some amazing mixology going on. I would highly recommend eating here!
Really rude hostess and managers- food not worth the abuse
I just came here with my father and husband for my birthday. I was visiting from New York for the week of my birthday, on the second anniversary of my mother’s passing. We were a party of three. When we arrived we were promptly shown to possibly the worst table in the restaurant- directly by the kitchen door in the corner. I should preface that I came here in the summer with my dad as well and we were also seated in the far back of the restaurant next to the wall almost literally behind the fireplace of the main room. So this wasn’t exactly surprising. I’m not sure if it’s because we are Asian (we saw another Asian couple seated tonight at the same table behind the fireplace 😬). Anyhow we asked if we could be seated at a different table a bit more central to which the response was - since you are a party of just three people this is the only table at the restaurant for you. Which was completely perplexing as it was the same size table as every other table for four. There were no triangle tables for three. And there were at least four to five open tables of the same exact size. But no- we were repeatedly explained to that because we were a table of three this was really the only table we could be seated at. After escalating to the manager named Jose- he finally acquiesced and begrudgingly gave us a table meant for “four” in a better location. Again the table for “four” was the same as the only “table” in the restaurant for three. Of course there were couples sitting as four tops that we passed along to our “specially” arranged table. It was totally ridiculous and especially hurtful. I explained to another manager Roberto how upsetting it was to continuously be ostracized and told that because we were a table of three we had to sit by the kitchen. The last thing I needed to be reminded of was that we were not a threesome and not a foursome. It’s like shaming solo diners. Maybe there’s a sad reason we were a threesome and not a foursome? I explained this to basically a blank face from Roberto. No apologies from Roberto, Jose or the two rude hostesses up front. Not a peep the entire night. Ridiculous. Sometimes you go to places where the staff is a bit rude and you accept it because the food is that good. This is not one of those places. Not sure if there’s just not enough competition in Pasadena but there has to be better options. I’m sure glad I don’t live here if this is the best place in town. Scallops were super oily- lobster mashed potatoes nearly inedible. The only decent thing here is the drinks but there I should hope are better options. It was all in all an awful experience mostly due to the incredibly poor behavior from the staff, but also compounded by less than mediocre food.
Top notch, hands down, reliably amazing.
Top notch, hands down amazing! I hadn’t been to The Parkway Grill for some time, but I returned last night with my friend to celebrate her birthday. The ambience and service from the moment we stepped in the door is first class. The restaurant got busy while we were there, but it did not finish our experience, The menu has something to phrase every taste and it was hard to decide but since we favor the fish we’ve eaten there before, choose the special halibut. The server, Effie, accommodated some of my adjustments (avoiding carbs) so that my plate was really special. I really need to come back here more often and not edit for a special milestone.
lovely meal in warm surroundings...
Classic USA grill. Crab cakes and steak with some wonderful wine and great, great sauteed potatoes. Eric was my waiter and was very helpful (I was on my tod and didn't know my way around the menu/wine list in the USA).
Good food, great service
The ambiance is much of an traditional upscale steakhouse type vibe. Parking is not the easiest so we valet. Enjoyed their braised rib, scallop, and 1/2 chicken. Try the napoleon creme brûlée. The pastry gives it the crunchiness in place of caramel. We really enjoyed it.
excellent restaurant!
Truly an excellent restaurant, from the decor, to the excellent service, to the glorious food. Highly recommend!

Pretty crazy, but cracking down will cost them a lot to maintain. They probably will lose the fight.
