Went for Thanksgiving lunch with family, but only dinner menu was available. Ordered steak for 2 and lamb chops w/Caeser salad. Coffee and apple cobbler with schlag for dessert. The service was good. Not intrusive, but any time we wanted anything, our waiter was there within seconds and was polite. The steak was good. Not amazing, but good. The lamb chops were the same. Pretty good, a little too much salt, but nothing to write home about (as I've seen some of the reviews raving about the chops). The Caeser salad was somehow flavorless. We didn't order sides as we always overeat at Lugers.
However, as this was the first time ordering it, the apple strudel with schlag was beyond good. I'm in my fifties and I cannot remember tasting a better desert in my lifetime. Don't know if maybe they just made the perfect one or if this is typical of their strudel. Perfect sweetness, perfect soft where it should be, perfect sweet crunch where it should be.
I can't say if it's a good thing that the best part of the meal at a renowned steakhouse was the dessert, but it absolutely was.
