Having eaten at L'Arpege, Alleno, and Septime just days before, we found Pierre Sang to be refreshing and actually more creative! We had the blind tasting menu for lunch, and let me tell you, this is truly blind and truly Asian fusion! Normally, even if you won't know what the menu beholds until they bring the next course, the servers will quickly explain what you're eating before you eat it. Here, they don't tell you until AFTER you've already finished the plate and it's in your stomach, so this is definitely for the adventurous foodie :)On top of that, they make you guess all the ingredients, which after eating at over 30 Michelin restaurants and half of the World's 50 Best restaurants, we've never encountered before so kudos to Pierre Sang for being the first to make dining an immersive experience! Onto the food itself. Such high quality ingredients!! Everything is sourced from somewhere impressive and carefully selected. They serve you delicious medium rare pork which would normally horrify someone but here they are so confident that their pork is of quality since they know exactly where it came from, so there's no danger of it making anyone sick! He really gives a lot of attention and thought into where he gets his stuff. And like I said, this is Asian fusion. Pierre Sang manages to beautifully blend Korean and Japanese ingredients with European ones and the umami touch is much welcomed for us, because personally I find European food too bland for my palette. Some of the ingredients are really unique, rare and unheard of as well, which made me feel like I was eating haute couture food - so suitable for Pah-ree! I like that he used unusual ingredients instead of truffle like everyone else. And though PS himself only came out to say "Bienvenue!" and then literally disappeared back into the kitchen, we definitely appreciated that he took the time to greet us at all. Well worth the gastronomic experience. Make a reservation!TIP: Pierre Sang has 3 locations all on the same street which is very confusing. This one doesn't even have a noticeable sign out front so look for a GREY facade with no sign above.
